Bottom line up front this place has bland food and is under new ownership. Stop for a beer or wine if you must but do not order the food. I was very excited to go to this place. However, while I held out judgement until the end of the experience, I have to say I am extremely disappointed. Let's dive into it. The food - overall bland (which I don't think j have ever had to write about a restaurant). We did the trio dip dish which you see in a lot of the photos on here. The hummus was just a paste which left you wanting salt or tahini to add to it. The olive dip is also not that impressive. The Gauc is the best part of that dish. I got the cod dish which looks a lot like you see in the photos. However is was over cooked and again they didn't put any seasoning on the fish (a fish that has little flavor in the first place). I assume they are hoping that the chorizo they put in the salad can be used to balance the flavorless cod?? The mixture in the center of the plate is more of the hummus paste (I assume it's the same because it barely tasted like anything) topped off with some cabbage and a couple bits of chorizo. Someone dolled up the photos btw because the plates do not come with garnishes and don't look like what you see on here. Lastly, my girlfriend had the Greek salad which had a lot of olives out of a can on top and not much else. The service - living in Europe I am now use to European service. I try and fight the American concept of food service. However, some noteworthy events to highlight. When we walked into the restaurant we stumbled on three of the wait staff arguing trying to figure out the computer system. Finally I just asked if we could sit and they said sure. The lady came over and cleared one of the tables and apologized and did her best. However after the really bad food we were ready to go. The guy cleared the table and I asked for the check immediately to get out of this place. Wait 5 minutes he comes back with a desert menu. I again ask for the check. Wait 10 minutes he clears three other tables. Wait 5 minutes he pokes his head in looks at the tables and leaves. Of course this prompted me to just get up and pay. When paying, I kind of realized this place is being ran by a bunch of expats and college students. It had kind of a hostel feel to it. Apparently, a couple years ago there were different owners which may explain how this place once was well reviewed but now has hit rock bottom. read more

Step into this lovely cafe where the servings are huge, the food is mouthwatering and the service is impeccable. A stones through away from a stunning church this spot is a great rest bit from sight seeing or a romantic and affordable date night option. I highly recommend the clams as an appetizer served in a garlic, lemon and herb sauce you will be begging for more. My favorite dish however is the roasted pineapple with cinnamon and spices served in vanilla ice cream; simply divine. read more

First of all, we were seated within 30 seconds of walking in (no reservation). That said, it took the staff 20-25 minutes to acknowledge that we were even here. At the 25min mark, we were approached about what we wanted to drink and eat. This was definitely not a good way to start at a restaurant with such great reviews. After we ordered, it took 25 mins for us to get our drinks. Mind you they were cocktails, but still, shouldn't take that long to get 2 drinks. That said, one of the best cocktails Ive ever tasted, I highly recommend the mojito. Be prepared to wait at least 45 mins before getting any food, and maybe even a drink. The appetizer, figs, ham and brie, was good, but lacked a bit of flavour. The main, we both ordered steak, which came with potatoes, mushrooms, bacon, asparagus, and a fried egg. We were both disappointed with the steaks that came out, as both pieces of meat were tough. My GF suffered through her piece, I however, sent my steak back for a new piece (which was much better). Dessert, I ordered the chocolate cake which was pretty good, but a little dry. Overall, the experience I had honestly wasn't that great. The food was pretty good, especially for the price. I would go back again and try to order a different dish, and make an effort to order my drink upon entering. read more

We rented a flat in Alfama just near Cruzes Credo during our stay in Lisbon, and believe me, it was a godsend!! We had the best tuna ever, perfectly cooked and seasoned, with OMG-so-good polenta and vegetables, for just €12,5 - and that was the most expensive dish on the menu. Also try the Portuguese sausage, amazing, for €10. Burgers and toasties are less of a steal - burger patties are overcooked, as everywhere in Lisbon, and toasties are a bit common. They also have a large selection of beers (including 3 different Portuguese IPAs - my boyfriend loved that place), at around €3-4 per bottle. Bonus point: it is open late and is very lively, even after 11pm, even though it is more a restaurant than a bar. Do not hesitate to make late walk-ins, even weekdays! read more

3,5 stars. I expected so much. And honestly my order was exquisit, I got the tuna steak btw. The problem that I had with this place was the service. My bf got the burger, but he is alergic to tomato and even though the lady repeated after me not to put it inside, guess what... He got it. That wouldn't be such a big deal if the burger was tasty, but he said that the bun tasted storebought, that the caramelized cabbage overtook the flavour, the meat wasn't juicy and the bun was much bigger than the meat patty. So, all in all, it is a nice place, but one star down for service and the lousy burger. We still think that we'll give this place another chance since my order was excelent. read more

Yum Yum Yum! I ordered the steak and eggs, a fresh lemonade, and the chocolate cake for dessert with a side glass of milk. Everything was delicious. I was a bit hesitant since it took us a while to get seated and once we got seated it took a while for our waitress to take our order and bring out our food. I was just so hungry that I wanted everything to come out right away. As soon as the first dish came out and I took a bite out of my steak, I felt like I was in heaven. The steak is cooked medium rare/well so if you prefer well done or more rare ... I would recommend you ask your waitress/waiter to make it that way. The veggies that came with it were perfectly seasoned and cooked. A lot of food for a great price. The lemonade was interesting (different from traditional lemonade), but still very tasty. The chocolate cake was super moist and very different from traditional chocolate cake. Next time I'll order it with a side of ice cream in case I don't want a side of milk. I've been here quite a few times when in Lisbon, the staff are always very lovely are are completely used to speaking English if you need. They have a great range of beers, and some lovely red wine. I've eaten once and it was a beaut - just a burger, but a very nice one. It's always pretty busy but you get a lovely view if you sit outside. I found this place on yelp and decided after hiking up the hill to see St. George's Castle that what I needed was some food on the walk down the hill. This place is really cute, and fairly priced. There is free wifi that somewhat works (like it let me send iMessages but not surf the web). I had a burger that great! Make sure to add sides because otherwise all you get is a burger. Luckily I was seated at a table inside right next to a wall socket, so I was able to charge my phone. I was using a converter and a fuse blew while I was eating dinner, which immediately worried me that my phone charger was somehow responsible for it - it's wasn't. They quickly turned the power back on and the place resumed to normal. There are a couple small tables located outside on the patio with the majority of the seating available inside. Cruzes Credo has a tavern feel. For English speakers, the menus are also available in English. My waitress was very nice. I asked her to explain the difference between two local beers and she wasn't really able to tell me, but she was polite and helpful, so I just went with the one I had already tried. read more

So let me start out and say that it is a gin specialty bar but they also serve wine, beers, and a few whiskeys. So if you are a gin drinker, this place has a big variety of gins. Their price is between 12€-14€ for cocktails. I told the waiter what I wanted and he recommend a drink for me. It turned out my drink is a bit too sweet so I asked the bartender to make it less sweet. He took it back to the bar and then come back and told me to pick something else. So instead trying to fix it and makes it water down, he made me another cocktail. We stays until close to closing time but no one rush us. Overall, friendly staff and great service, and most of the time, that is what make or break your experience. And if you are a big gin drinker then that is a plus here. read more

Everything was super fresh and had a lot of veggies. We went to this restaurant at around 9pm on a Sunday in the summer, there isn't that much seating and they don't take reservations, so we ended up having to wait for about half an hour. It seems to be quite a popular place. The interior is nicely decorated, and the loose seating is comfortable. We ordered several appetizers, clams, figs an Brie, and a cheese board. These were all presented very well, and with tastes to match. They also offer a very nice selection of beers !n bottles. The mains were ok, they were again very well presented, but overall if say it was quite average, emphasized by the fact that their appetizers were very good. We find this bistro in a small corner of the world. Our first night in Lisbon. Bernard, the new owner from France, fills our table with steak, pork cheeks, asparagus, halved fingerling and sweet potatoes. It's just what we needed. They just show them to you on a board and they are listed as "steak" or "chicken" but they are really well-crafted dishes.
