    Brazilian bean stew
    Jillian S.

I would say this is like a 3.5/closer to 4 star review as opposed to 3. Came here for lunch after a morning of walking everywhere around town. I ordered the Brazilian stew and I was hoping for it to be packed with flavor but it wasn't-it was pretty bland. The sausage was good I just needed to add so much hot sauce. It was definitely hearty. The service was great and I sat outside which I loved.

Modern vegan eatery that offers healthy and delicious vegan food in the heart of Lisbon. Service was nice, prices were reasonable and the food was excellent! We ordered: 3*Nachos with Guacamole: Natural Nachos with fresh mexican homemade sauce: the portion was small but pretty good. 5*Spirit Tofu: Vegan version of the Traditional Portuguese Dish "Bacalhau Espiritual". Served with salad and rice. Very nice combination, and tofu was spiced with curry - delicious! 4*Vegetable Salad: clean, fresh and good. 2*Veggie Burger: made of beans, and tasty. Served with rice and salad. Customer felt sick for hours afterwards.

Delicious, healthy, vegetable-forward vegan food. Loved being able to get a whole foods/plant-based (WFPB)/macrobiotic type meal. Everything is artfully prepared with great attention to detail. The trio of pâtés (dips) and rice bread is a staple here and was excellent, especially the tofu basil dip. I absolutely loved the veggie burger, which is essentially a deconstructed burger, with the patty served topped with tasty garnishes and accompanied by a mound of rice (white or brown upon request), a side salad, a slice of beet, and a slice of orange. I also really enjoyed the chicory caffeine-free "coffee." I will definitely come back on my next visit to Lisbon and would look forward to trying the widely-recommended pecan pie.

Organi Chiado what a treat! The food is incredibly delicious and filling. The location is great, very close to the train station so that helps as well. I ordered the penne rigate and I give that a 10/10. The Brazilian bean stew was ordered by my husband it's was very hearty and tasty. He gives it a 7/10 - he enjoyed the meal quite a bit but thinks it could use some additional flavor.

During our time in Lisbon, naturally, we're Yelp!-ing to find vegan haunts throughout the city. Organi Chiado is one of the top-rated restaurants in town, and a short walk from our pad in the Bairro-Alto, so off we went for lunch to check it out! The place was already in the thick-of-things by the time we made it to the Chiado district. The interior ambiance exudes a quiet sophistication. Our waitperson was very welcoming and attentive throughout. Of course, all that sightseeing meant a parched palate, so a super-chilled Super Bock was first on-order. For sustenance, we started with a shared appetizer of bread and spreads. Oh, WOW!!! Three types of spreads were presented: Basil Tofu; Olives-Walnut; Peanut Butter- Apple. All were awesome, with the Basil Tofu (for me) being the star. I'd never tasted a spread like it: Refreshing and silky smooth and sublime. (The Olive-Walnut was strong and hearty; Peanut Butter and Apple tasted exactly like that!) Organi Chiado offers two specials which change daily, and on our first visit we both couldn't resist the offering of Braised Tofu (served with lime rice, side salad, and tempura veggie crisp). WOAH!!! Hands-down the best food we've eaten (up to that point)!!! And, too, the prices were surprisingly very reasonable, especially considering the upscale air of the place, and the awesomeness in flavors! We left totally satiated, and made a pledge to return to Chiado Organi in the very near future...! [As it turned out, "the very near future" came the following evening, after a disastrous, unfinished, dinner at another vegan restaurant. We came running to Organi to our rescue! It didn't fail us!!! And, too, we got to chit-chat a lot more with our gal from the day before, which was really lovely.]

Delicious lasagna, and a yummy salad.

In the heart of Chiado you will find an absolutely delicious, well thought out, and healthy-feel-good-about-what-you're-eating meal. This is where you take someone who believes healthy food can't be flavorful and prove them wrong. Organi is down right scrumptious. Attentive staff, and an owner who is not only there, but also engages with his patrons. If I lived in Lisbon I'd probably eat here a few times a week. Don't forget to ask about the owners house made chili oil! It has some heat, but filled with bold flavor. I basically put it on everything I ate. Highly recommend even for those who eat meat.

Wonderful, tasty, healthy vegan food, a nice break from fish or pizza. Menu changes daily. Lentil curry was delicious. The chocolate cake was amazing. Pleasant waitress who spoke English perfectly & had a shining personality. We will return.

Probably the best lunch we had during our stay in Lisbon. The vegan pate was out of this world.

Delightful organic vegan restaurant located in the heart of Lisbon! Food***** This place earned a very RARE 5 stars from us for its food! The Rice bread is recommended and wow is it delicious!! We ordered the Risotto and the Veggie Chili. The veggie chili was a knockout, home run, and all the sides complimented it so well--the apples with the delicious sauce and cashews, the fresh side salad with balsamic and pomegranate and delicious rice. The Risotto was great (not as amazing as the chili) but tasted wonderful and was garnished w/ nutritional yeast and had portobello mushrooms. We got every food group in this dinner! We also got a Pina Colada that was so delicious and so fresh! Atmosphere**** Great setting with several tables inside and a good amount outside. The lighting was not too bright and just the right setting. There is parking nearby and on the street. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the limited space inside but we can't really fault them for that! Service**** Quick, friendly, and the waiter was prompt to our table. We ordered a drink and it came really quick and was sooo fresh! Price$$ Incredible price for food this good! It was only slightly over 12USD, which is below the $15USD that gets a place 3 price tags

    Tofu Espiritual. Incredible meal!!!

My mom and I recently went on a trip to both Lisbon and Barcelona and the meal we had at Organi Chiado was our absolutely favorite of our entire trip. We can't stop talking about how delicious it was. We had the "Tofu Espiritual," a vegan version of the Portuguese dish, Bacalhau Espiritual. It was incredible! Came with rice, sweet potato, cabbage, veggies (that were seasoned and cooked perfectly), and a delicious salad. I usually don't even like the salads that are served with meals at most restaurants, but this one was fantastic!!! For dessert, we had the Arroz Doce and it was so yummy! I loved the food here so much and highly recommend it!

Such a lovely spot in Lisbon. Portuguese food is not vegetarian friendly so this little gem made me feel like I could experience some Portuguese cuisine. The bean stew and chocolate cake were delicious. The restaurant was super cute and had a nice outside area. Waiters all wore masks and were very covid conscious. Def recommend!

I really loved the soft and crunchy texture of the onigiri with a juicy marinated watermelon center. For entree, we got the couscous with Okra dish. If you don't like Okra this dish is not for you. But, it was light and flavorful (slightly sour). For dessert, we got a sampler since we could not decide. Clearly, my favorite was the chocolate lava cake but they were all so tasty! I was intrigued by the presence of a vegan restaurant in Lisbon, but it seems like vegan and vegetarian restaurants are plentiful here. The menu is just as tiny as the restaurant. There are 2 main dishes and a few desserts and starters. I ordered the daily dish, which was called Brunch. It included vegan cheese on toast, vegan sausages, a slice of sun-dried tomato, roasted beets on top of potatoes, and oats with strawberries and bananas. Elements of the dish were both a hit and a miss. As a non-vegan, the individual components were very good attempts at replicating the real thing. First, the cheese had the right texture. It had a very light and subtle flavor that I enjoyed. The vegan sausages were too dry on the inside. The beets and potatoes were particularly good, but I'm a bit biased as I enjoy beets in general. The oats in soy milk was tasty. There was a subtle sweetness to it. Overall, the food was good and a good value for €13.

We got the vegetable curry twice, as well as a quinoa salad, a tofu scramble, a carob cake, and some juice. Out of all of these, the quinoa salad was my favorite. But even the warm curry was delicious on a hot day! The carob cake was a bit dry and crumbly tasting, though -- I think I can bake a better one myself. There was quite a rush for the cheesecake, so I wonder if that would have been better? Sadly they were sold out once we wanted dessert. Service was a bit slow and they don't open before noon, but that's fine when you are on vacation :) As others have mentioned, the space is small, so going here with a large group is probably not advisable. I liked that their food menu was hand-written. It sounds like they just make up the menu as they go, and include whatever dishes they can make with the produce they have available that day. Overall, I very much enjoyed eating here -- it was nice to just get some good old vegetables among all the meat offerings of Portugal!

I wasn't feeling super hungry so I opted to do a takeout box (€8) of their buffet food. The selection here was fantastic - many lentil/soy based protein options, a salad bar, rice and bread - really the perfect plant based meal where everything was tasty. My average rating really comes from my experience doing takeout. Maybe it's my American mentality, but when they handed me the takeout tray, I made sure to fill it up with as much food as possible (while not overloading). When I went to pay, the owner(?) scolded me and said it was now impossible to close and that I did not do this properly. I apologized and shared my embarrassment with them, but honestly - it was NOT that bad. I wasn't happy that they made a scene where everyone started staring as I continuously apologized and felt stern judgement. Finally, another staff member took over and closed the box for me and I paid and left. After sharing the photos with friends, nearly everyone concluded that it was not overfilled and definitely me just making the most of my limited space. Besides that experience, I still really appreciate them being available and would come back to do the actual sit down buffet so I can avoid this awkwardness again.
