    Golden ginger

Very cute coffee shop to stop by at when visiting LX Factory. Service was great, drinks were delicious and the food we ordered to share was good. We ordered the organic egg and avocado spread which tasted just okay, but the presentation was absolutely beautiful. The bread was not toasted and I think it would've made a big difference if it were. We both ordered the golden ginger, which was warm frothy and tasty. I would definitely come back and order something different + chill for a bit drinking coffee.

Bland tasteless breakfast pairs with lackluster service. Their menu consists of "everything free" concoctions that lean into the "everything natural" movement. Taste is apparently something that been extracted and removed from the food. I was repeatedly told, "it is not possible" every time we made a dietary request. My colleague who had purchased a coffee elsewhere was prohibited from dining with us or ordering from Therapy due to said coffee contraband. Therapy could learn a bit from its namesake and lighten up a bit. Keep walking. Better options exist in every direction.

Stopped here for a quick healthy snack. I really loved the aesthetic here! This is located in the LX factory and is very spacious. I loved that it's healthy and locally sourced ingredients. I got the green juice and it was a delicious flavor. We sat inside but we had to show our vaccine cards on a Sunday. The staff was friendly and they had fast WiFi. I got to glance at the other items on the menu and they offer an extensive variety of healthy items.

Ordered the fruta and gelado pancakes, strawberry and Nutella pancakes, and the green smoothie bowl

What makes it special is watching the pastries being handmade right in front of you, which adds a level of freshness and craftsmanship that you can actually taste. The service was super fast and friendly. The pastel de nata came out perfectly, with that delicate flaky crust and warm custard that just hits differently when you know it was made moments ago. The espresso was equally impressive, rich and smooth, and the two together make for a simple but near perfect combination. If you are in the area, this is an easy and very satisfying stop.

The crust was super flaky and the tart was nice and warm out of the oven, but I didn't like the flavor of the custard. I did forget to add cinnamon to the top, but I don't think it would have helped me personally. The woman who stood next to me at the counter had a nearly orgasmic experience next to me, so it's obvious that my taste buds are apparently off. I loved the patience of the server, who got confused when I told her I wanted to eat in but wanted to take water to go. Note to self...Portuguese folks want to have their "to go" as "takeaway." What I also didn't know was that there was no place to sit!! I scooted down the counter just like all the other folks to watch the bakers prep the next gozillion pastries for the day. That was interesting. Then, I didn't know how to bus my dishes. I just left them on the counter like all the other folks and went away. I wouldn't skip going because of my personal taste buds, though. Enjoy it for yourself and let me know if you have a different opinion than I did!

Always enjoying city's on foot, we were talking about hunger and we walked right by the front of this great little restaurant. The staff were wonderful, outgoing and courteous, making us feel right at home as soon as we set foot in the understated but well decorated place. Our service was spot on with our salad arriving very quickly, our ice cold beer moment before, and our tap water in a little pitcher. Our ice request brought two big cubes in a separate glass, put in our glass with ice tongs. The ice was so cold it momentarily stuck to the tongs. Our shared Greek salad arrived as soon as our server went back into the kitchen looking wonderful and laden with very tasty firm feta. We had vinegar and oil on our table so we got to dress it ourselves, always our choice. It was plentiful and excellent. As we requested our margherita pizza came a minute after our salad was cleared, so our small table had plenty of room for our water, beer and food. The washrooms were clean and tidy as was the shared wash up area. All in all and excellent find that if we lived in Lisbon would be a go to place for a pretty darn good pizza!

I had been here about fifteen years ago on a solo trip when I waited in an endless queue for a takeout order. That same line still existed a couple of weeks ago when Jamie W and I visited on my return to Lisbon. This time, we decided to try the dine-in option which I wasn't even aware of until I saw a YouTube video from a travel vlogger who recommended it. Sure enough, the line was a lot shorter and moved quite a bit faster. It turned out they serve up to 400 people in an expansive dining room. The menu goes beyond the pastels and offers croquettes, salt cod fritters, various sandwiches, and other pastries. Of course we ordered the 1,6€ Pasteis de Belem. Four of them (Photo 6). Based on a secret recipe dating back to 1837, they compare favorably to the multitude of competitors, even Manteigaria, whose shops appear almost everywhere in Lisbon. The custard filling is creamy but not excessive and it's not overly sweetened. The standout is the thick and flaky crust, tender with a touch of salt. The 2€ Iced Coffees with Milk was a nice complement. Since we didn't have time to get lunch while sauntering through Belem, we decided to take advantage of their cafe menu and each ordered the 3,9€ Tuna and Mayo with Boiled Egg and Lettuce on Mixed Wheat Toast (Photo 9). I know it sounds simple, but it satisfied much like the kombini sandos in Tokyo. Totally worthy of my 8,000 milestone. Immediately after being seated, we were asked who at the table had celiac. Menu is clearly labeled with gluten free items and dairy free options as well. Vegetarian items are also labeled. Gluten free bread is available for the table. The Shitake Mushroom Cream Soup with Truffle Mascarpone Quenelle is just absolutely the best soup ever; if you're a fan of mushrooms. The orange and Chocolate cake was so good! Portion size was just right! It was so great to be able to dine without being scared of cross contamination. After…read morehearing about their gluten-free offerings, I decided to give this place a chance for one of my evening meals during my trip to the city in the Winter of 2023. The interior is fairly comfortable with many tables suited to larger parties, yet the menu and prices seem to be more in line with fine dining, while the menu was limited, I was told that pretty much everything could be adapted to be made gluten-free. I ordered the Tandoori Chicken Breast which was listed on the menu as coming with potato gratin and some mushrooms, it also came with a small number of vegetables. While I was waiting for my food, they ended up bringing some gluten-free bread and oil to my table, the gluten-free bread was hot and individually wrapped so I was really excited to try it, but the bread wasn't good at all. One of the rolls was seeded (I hate seeded bread), and the other one just didn't taste good. After the bread, I was brought another dish, which appeared to be a slice of cheese with tomato and some sort of pesto dressing, while I appreciated them bringing this to my table as a mini appetizer, my server didn't explain what it was, so I had no idea on what I was eating. I was disappointed with the service overall, as they didn't explain the cheese dish they brought to the table, and were not too attentive during my meal, my glass of water fell empty, and they also didn't check up on how my meal was until the very end. Despite being quite spacious, they did put a large family including children right next to our table, despite having gaps in-between other diners and the space to do so which I would have preferred they avoided. The portion size was a little small, it would be ideal for a light lunch but if you're looking for dinner, it would be better suited for one to have multiple courses. My main course was actually pretty good, the chicken was cooked well, and the tandoori sauce was tasty, the potato gratin also was very good, I thought it was a cool idea to have little pieces of bacon inside it, I just would have liked a lot more of it. The carrots were hard and almost inedible so having a little more chicken, and a little more potato would have made it much more filling. A service charge did appear to be added to my bill, which was only a couple of euros, it didn't appear that they charged for either the bread or cheese plate. 3* - Many positives for sure, the food was good, I just would have liked more of it. Improvements to service are also an urgent must.

I would definitely order it again, just mentioning no salt. For the main course, we shared a pappardelle pasta with poppy-encrusted baked salmon, and a side of seasaonal vegetables. The salmon was more cooked than I personally prefer, always choosing to go between raw and seared, but the flavor was good and my partner loved it.
