This is a small restaurant where all tables are 4-6 seaters and mostly shared. It is not a fine dine restaurant, but is extremely buzzing with great food and drinks. Good authentic Mexican food, for sure! But the best in this place is the modern look and cosmopolitan sense it has - everything is built and organized with the most attention and you can notice the mix of inspirations. Absolute great tacos and even bolder flavor cocktails. The cocktails are mostly tequila and mezcal based with a modern twist. We tried most of the vegetarian options - all of their tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and a couple more things. Drinks could be a little bit bigger to be honest. Price was quite rough for Mexican food, but at the same time it's understandable, there aren't too many places where the food is as authentic. Love the massive range of fresh salsas they give you to try with the meal. Besides that, you will also find the best staff and playlists in Lisbon here. If you like Mexican food and trendy places you can't miss one. During our one week of stay in Lisbon we went to this place for dinner twice. We actually didn't order food other than the guac due to getting our drink orders wrong, twice and then charging us for the mistake. One of the party ordered a mango drink and they brought guava and we just decided to let that go and then later brought he mango one we ordered. Then they brought lemonade and a few minutes later another person brought it again to the same person (and both tasted bad). Then they tried to give us another table's food and we hadn't ordered it so we said it wasn't ours and asked for the check. I think they mixed up orders on all the tables so that's really why I have given them only 3 stars. Great location though. read more

We found this Mexican place in Lisbon, all thanks to Yelp! The street leading to this restaurant seemed very dark and dull but this place is very lively and very happening. We were lucky and there was no wait when we stopped here for dinner. By the time we were leaving, there was a long wait list. We were served chips and salsa right away and it was great. They even gave us second helping of chips and salsa. This is the only place i found in Lisbon which got us a jug of water when we asked for regular water. All the other places wither served only bottled water or gave us a tiny cup of water. We had the Jamaica agua fresca which was very good and refreshing. I had cheese quesadilla with black beans and vegetarian mexican sopes ( fried corn 'patty' with beans, fresh cheese,salsa). Everything was great. Portion size was a bit small. Hubby's vegetarian tacos - Frijoles Negros with chipotle sauce and it was awesome. The chipotle was spicy and added a zing to the tacos. They also gave us a really spicy sauce to try as I wanted my quesadilla w=to be spicy. the sauce was amazing. I can sum up my opinion of this place in one sentence: I went here twice on a 4 day vacation to Lisbon. Yes- it is THAT good. The first visit was for dinner on Friday night. Arriving around 8 we encountered an hour or so wait. We were provided chips and salsa and able to order drinks while we waited, so this wasn't too bad. We ordered two different tacos and shared- I had the pollo en salsa verde and he had the cochinita pibil. Both were out of this world. SO much flavor... literally I was in love and even though our trip was only 4 days, we knew we had to come back. Second time around we went for lunch on Sunday- seated immediately this time. For lunch they offer a different menu and we chose the enchiladas and the barbacoa. Both were great but the tacos fell short of the night previous, which is why I'd recommend coming here for dinner if possible. 10/10 must stop! read more

THIS PLACE KNOWS MEXICAN FOOD!!! We tried coming here on a Thursday night around 8:30 PM, it was packed and there was a group of people outside waiting for their table. That's when you know the food must be amazing. We put our names down and walked over to a bar nearby. From the beginning, the people managing the wait list were very friendly and also very calm and organized, considering there were no less than 10-15 parties waiting for a table. Finally about an hour and 15 minutes later, we walked over again and waited an additional 15-20 minutes to be seated. We didn't mind the wait. I would say if you're in a rush, try to come earlier because they do not take reservations and it seems to get VERY packed after a certain time. Once we got seated, our waiter was great and very helpful in helping us figure out what to order. He also gave us warnings about which salsas etc were super spicy, which was MUCH needed. We ordered the black bean tacos with chipotle sauce, and the chicken tacos. WARNING: the chicken tacos are SPICY, I mean I'm Indian and I could barely handle it but it tasted soooo goood. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and somehow, even though it was spicy - you could still taste the authentic mexican seasoning they used.The black bean tacos were soo yummy too, the chipotle sauce was spicy but not too spicy. We ended up ordering another round of black bean tacos because they were so good. Really disappointed with Pistola y Corazon. Came here on a local recommendation so expectations were high. We came very early to avoid queuing as they don't take reservations. We were very quickly seated and two excellent margaritas were magiced up. Guacamole and chips were excellent and we both ordered tacos for main. To say my carne asada was a letdown is an understatement. Three minuscule and tasteless tacos topped with dry and tepid beef strips were proffered. O/h was more forgiving but hers was equally unimpressive to look at. Service was brisk and friendly, room is small with bench seating as standard so it's not for cozy romantic meals. I LOVE the rare occasions when I find a truly authentic and delicious Mexican food restaurant in an unlikely place, and Pistola Y Corazon definitely fits the bill! We were looking for a place to eat in the area, and we certainly weren't looking for a Mexican restaurant; in our experience Mexican restaurants outside of the American continent are mediocre more often than not. This one, however, is nothing short of TERRIFIC. The menu looked legit from the moment we saw it, which is why we went in in the first place. I ordered the tacos de chicharrón en salsa verde and I would've labeled them as delicious even if I had them in the heart of Mexico. So good, my mouth is watering right now just from the memory. My wife had the tacos campechanos and she loved them as well. I also ordered a michelada and it too was just as good as those in Mexico. The place is definitely hip. Lots of young people. The music is almost club-ish, and, at least at night, loud. We liked the atmosphere. What completed my night was walking into the bathroom and hearing norteño music. Nice touch. read more

You start with the salsas, so that you have an idea as to how hot in taste you want your tacos. The only drawback is that at dinner you can't combine tacos from the menu, so you get three tacos of one kind, still great and you can become a piggy by trying at least two sets totaling six tacos. At lunch they say you can combine tacos, but we weren't there long enough to return for lunch. We arrived just before the dinner rush, those behind us landed with a 2 hour wait. The hostess handed out chips & salsa as you wait for your table, along with taking your drink order, all to strive off the hungriest. You might be asked to share a table, great way to meet other travelers or a local who can suggest where to eat your next meal. I was only in Lisboa 3 Days but I ate here twice. My wife is from Mexico and we have had Tacos across the world. I will easily our this place amongst my Favorite Mexican Restaurants in the World. The Tacos Fillings are so incredible and the sauces are all home made with incredible taste . They know a lot about their food as well as tequila and mescal and have great options for food and drink. In a city full of great places to eat, Pistola y Corazon is one of the best. The food and drinks are fantastic and the atmosphere is fun and relaxing. While you can find these things in other places in Lisbon, the warm and friendly multilingual staff make a visit to Pistola a real treat. My favorite thing on the menu is the agua chile de camarón, a shrimp ceviche that is the perfect blend of citrus and spice. The pozole and all of the tacos are delicious, and I've never been disappointed in the creative specials, most recently a rotisserie chicken taco. If you like heat be sure to let them know. Stopped here for a quick lunch. The place was packed and, had I gone with more people, they would have turned me down; it seems that most places in Lisboa want reservations (?). We walked past it when we were roaming Lisbon and being from SoCal, were craving some Mexican food after having travelled europe for a few weeks. We came back for dinner and it blew our minds. The wait was about 45 minutes, we just went to a nearby bar to get a drink before hand. 3 of us probably ordered enough food for 4-5 people, but we were starving and the food was just so good! Some highlights: -free chips and salsa (missed that about America), even if you're waiting in line they bring some out to you -chilaquiles...wow...I could eat those all day. MUST GET. -chicken quesadillas - fantastic. so flavorful. -shrimp tacos - really good, but not as great as the chicken one..which brings me to: -chicken tacos (tinga de pollo)- be careful, this is S P I C Y. We could barely eat it without gulping down water (free and lemon infused thankfully!!). But so worth it. -they were out of the key lime pie so we had the 3 leches cake, which cooled our mouths down after the tacos. I wish we had come here earlier on our trip because I would've returned at least one more time before leaving Lisbon. This place is awesome. We came to Portugal for amazing food, the sure seeing and the people- they really are so nice! We were hankering for a little taste of home, being from the San Francisco Bay Area, we are a little spoiled and can get excellent Mexican food practically everywhere. That's not the case at all here in Portugal, this place is absolute gem. You'll have to wait for a table but the owner is so nice and you'll be offered a drink and chips and salsa while you wait. This spot is a MUST when in Lisbon. I'm from Texas and have a high bar set when it comes to tacos and this place definitely exceeded my expectations!! I came across it on the first day in Lisbon but didn't end up going until the last day here. Had I gone the first day, I would have definitely made another trip before I left. These tacos are perfection!! There is so much flavor and the meat is so tasty. I had a veggie option, carne asada chicken tinga and chicken verde. All were excellent!! I will stay if you can't handle spicy foods, stay away from the chicken tinga and beef tinga. These were extremely spicy but worth it because they were delicious! Ask for sour cream on the side to cut the spice. Our waitress saw my struggle with the spiciness and offered to bring sour cream! The taco combos come with your choice of # of tacos, a fresh juice, and coffee at the end. All for a very resonance price. They also start you with chips and salsa with an array of different salsas from spicy to mild to add to your tacos for additional flavor. The service was quick and the staff was very kind. When I was in Portugal, tacos and Mexican food weren't on my list of food to try. Fish? Yes. Port? Yes. But tacos? Not really. I found this place on yelp because it was pretty close to my flat. There was a wait when I went the first time on a Saturday at 745 but none at 7 on a Monday. While you're waiting, they give you some pico and chips to eat. You have the option of ordering drinks while waiting too. Inside, service is good! They tell you to raise your arm if you need anything. Almost everything on the menu was gluten free! There were some options for vegetarians but I don't think there were any for vegans. We ordered the Al Pastor, Pollo en Salsa Verde, Cochinitas, Fish tacos, Carne Asada, Carnitas, Guacamole, and a quesadilla. The guacamole was interesting! It came with salt and some spicy stuff so that you could flavor it how you wanted it. The avocado was nice and fresh too. My only suggestion would be to add some cilantro. The Pollo en Salsa Verde was pretty good. It had some after burn heat to it that my weak spicy tolerance couldn't handle very well. The Cochinitas was really flavorful and also very greasy as well. The Carnitas were nice and simple and really good as well. My second favorite was the Carne Asada tacos. They were super flavorful and really good. My favorite taco was the Al Pastor. It was super juicy, like running down my arm juicy. It was really flavorful. And it had that hint of sweetness from the pineapple. So good! To drink, I had the Agua Fresca Jicama, I think? It was really good! A little sweet and very refreshing. They also put a good amount of meat in each taco too so it was very filling. I actually ended up coming here two different times. The first time I was super skeptical like, tacos? In Portugal? But this place is legit. This is the last place my wife and I came for dinner before we left Lisbon. This was so good that it's hard to describe. The place has its own vibe to it--you can get drinks in plastic bags, if you order any beer but corona they serve it to you in a paper bag. The decor is unique, the napkins are in six pack cartons, all sold out dishes have a blue "F*** it" stamp. We had the carne asada and shrimp tacos. Both were incredible. We also ordered chilaquiles divorciados, which had their own spice and make a great starter. I've had Mexican food as close to the US border as you can get, but this Portuguese take on it was outstanding. But the great part was the service. Normally my experience in Europe is that servers don't check in on you unless you call for them. Not here. We had to wait outside on the street for a table to free up and they brought us chips and salsa on the house, while we waited. Our waiter was very attentive and explained everything well. As a Mexican-American traveling in Lisbon, I will say this place is really good. The carnitas are made with orange juice, which is not often seen in the states, but how they should be made. The hot sauces are HOT. (No apologies for how hot they were, and I like that!) The drinks are also very good. The angry pineapple was amazing. (Smokey mezcal, pineapple, chili con lemon seasoning.) I was in Lisbon over the weekend (July 9th) and enjoyed my last meal of my trip at P&C. We were greeted by a hospitable and honest host, that let us know he couldn't quote the wait time, as there were 9 parties ahead of us (which we found to be a good sign at restaurants in Lisboa). It would easily be a place I'd frequent if it were located in LA. We had the chicken pozole and chilaquiles con chile verde to start. The pozole was TOP NOTCH. Reminded me of my grandma's pozole. The chilaquiles were just okay. There are probably other starters that would've been better. I got carne asada tacos, my bf got the tacos with al pastor. Both were great! My only suggestion for the carne asada tacos, would've been to add cilantro and onion. They're not just a staple on just about every 'street' taco, but they are a MUST on a carne asada one. When we left, there were people still waiting to be seated that were in the queue when we had been called in. It goes to show that they're doing something right! Very authentic Mexican flavors! Best I've had outside of the Americas. I was afraid their spicy would be muted, but it was perfection. Dare I say some of the best salsa verde I've ever had; ask for a side of it because they only bring out a small dollop with your quesadilla and you're going to want more. I have been searching for an authentic AND good tasting Mexican restaurant since moving to Lisboa. This place is the real deal. First let's start with chips and salsa. Coming from Arizona chips and salsa is a Must when it comes to Mexican food. Thank you for offering this. And I must say their ranges of salsa are what every American Hispanic girl dreams of. Second the drinks are well made and should be tried. The sopas and quesadillas are wonderful and full of flavor. I had the chorizo tacos. For me chorizo is a Mexican staple and must be made right. And trust me so many get it wrong. Pistols y Corazon gets it so very right. Not too much oil, not too much salt, the right amount of spices and a perfect grind. My husband ordered Al Pastors tacos. The long wait was totally worth it! People leaving the restaurant made it sound like if you've had Mexican food in the states, then we wouldn't like it... They were so wrong! All of the salsa's were delicious and they had a huge range for spicy/tangly/creamy salsas. The tacos were made spicier for us by adding the sauce, and it was so worth it! A lot of the food in Portugal tasted pretty bland, but this chef knew what he was doing! Even with how crowded the place was, the service was pretty quick. Living in Leicester, England and being away from home (Los Angeles) I had not had tacos in months!!! But this place, not only did they sell tacos, but they sold some of the best tacos I've had, and they tasted like tacos in Mexico. Fantastic late night dinner here - the atmosphere is lively with good music (90s hip hop mixed with Spanish). Started with the house tortilla chips and 6 different salsas which were fun to try. We ordered the dry rubbed tacos, the sopas and the soup. All was good BUT the soup is not to be missed! It was perfectly seasoned, heart warming and delicious. Excellent Mexican food with limited seating, credit goes to Yelp for helping us in finding this restaurant. My friend and I arrived at the restaurant right when it opened at 7 PM. I recommend if you want to get a seat without waiting to do the same, it fills up really quickly and with good reason. I didn't expect to eat some of the best tacos I've ever eaten in Lisbon, but I did, granted I'm used to Americanized Mexican food on the west coast. Do note that you are likely to be seated at the same table as other people, which didn't bother me but it might be an issue for you. Service is great, shortly after we were seated we were given tortilla chips with a cup of salsa and an order for our drinks was taken (I had a margarita, which was wonderful.) I had beef tacos, which were nicely marinated. The corn tortillas were also very tasty. My friend had the chicharon tacos, which had an interesting crispy texture but weren't as flavorful as my selection. Once we were ready to go, the bill came in a timely manner even though the place was packed. Of course, when in Lisbon, you should try the local fare. Worth a two hour wait? Nah. Pistola y Corazon offers pretty decent Mexican street food, but unfortunately it's poorly managed and not well organized. On a busy night you can easily wait two hours for a table (bench-style seating that you share with others). They don't even let you hang out at the bar while you are waiting, so you basically stand in the street for two hours. It's not like you cannot get Mexican food at other local restaurants, so the big question is whether or not this place is worth the visit. I'd suggestion that you pass on this place, and visit the Time Out marketplace instead. It's also fun and busy, but you can get a decent meal without having to stand in the street, frustrated. read more
