I really wanted to love this place but I just didn't. First, the vibe is actually pretty dope. So when we arrived I was excited. But I ordered the cool Gon drink: The Baby's blanket, which was meh. It was hard to believe the list of ingredients that it was supposedly made from because it tasted like a watered down gin. Dates were also meh. Good spices. But nah. I've had it at 4 different restaurants and these were in 4th place out of 4. Fried cheese was fine. There was nothing actually wrong with these two but it's such a missed opportunity. Salmon was fine. It was missing something. Idk why or what exactly. It seemed like certain bites were very very bland and other bites were very flavorful. But the dish came with several piles of items on the plate. Carrot ice cream was good. The best part of it was the actual carrot cake. Swwwt potatoes cheese cake was good! Thank god it didn't taste like sweet potatoes. The waiter claimed it was pumpkin, maybe an essence, but not full pumpkin. Really good. Felt like I had to get through the appetizers and main course before I could actually enjoy something. The bathroom smells like cookie dough or a confectionery. Our server Kenny was fire. One of the most real and honest and hilarious and knowledgeable server I've ever had. read more

This is a review with two distinct experiences- the food was spectacular. I have never had a better crab cake in my life. It was such an intentionally flavored multi layer experience of taste. Very good. My entree had a rich flavor... just a slight note that it was very over sauced for me. If I were to order it again, I would ask for way less sauce. My interactions with my server, Reece, were not as spectacular. I was very put off by his mansplaining approach to my dining experience. I get that he is an advocate for the restaurant and food sales impact his bottom line, too, but he asked me if I knew what burrata cheese was- yes, yes I do know- and he explained how pappardelle was made- I know how it's made- and that it is a flat noodle- got that, too. It was insulting and unnecessary. Additionally, he couldn't take a hint or read body language during his attempt to share his knowledge. I was done very quickly and left. read more

5 stars for a fantastic Melbourne restaurant. My wife and I were visiting Melbourne with the family and tasked with finding somewhere to eat lunch. After looking through reviews for various places, I noticed that everyone who reviewed Crush XI said the food was great. That was enough for us as we decided to head on over. We arrived at the venue, which is located East New Haven Avenue near the train tracks, around 2:15pm on a Sunday and were able to grab a table. The venue (especially the bar) was very packed. The hostess informed us that the brunch menu was still in effect until 2:30, so we decided to start off with some drinks to pass the time. I ordered a NY Penicillin, which was solid and strong, and later a bacon old fashioned, which was quite fantastic. After the 15 minutes had passed, our server promptly started taking our food order. He was a nice guy who provided good service throughout the meal. Our order consisted of the baked brie, Nashville duck tenders, and bacon wrapped dates to start. The food came out rather promptly and was quite excellent. The tenders were the perfect level of spicy and tasty, the brie was a rather large dish with plenty of crackers and berries to go with the cheese, and the bacon wrapped dates were...well, exactly what you would want. Soon after finishing our starters, our mains came out. One side of the table ordered the burger, which they found to be quite solid. My wife and I ordered and shared the smoked duck fettuccini, and boy was it solid. The duck and noodles were great, while the pistachios and cherries made for a wonderful touch. Overall, Crush XI provided us with a fantastic lunch. The solid venue and service combined with the great food makes for a great place to check out in the downtown Melbourne area. read more

This restaurant serves moderns drinks and cuisines and had plenty of food and options that you would not find on any other menu. I first ordered a whiskey sour after a conversation with the bartender and was pleased with the drink. They must make a lot of classic old fashioned because to my surprise, the egg whites are pre-cracked in a container (similar to how syrup is poured). The crab cakes were extremely fresh and the garnish was a perfect compliment to the dish, adding a fresh cooling element to the fresh taste of the seafood. The crab cakes and garnish were both extremely light which for me truly distinguished the crab cake as an appetizer. The steak was just okay. I do enjoy avocados but the avocado mashed potatoes were not something I would order again or recommend as the avocados overpowered the potatoes. The flank steak was tender as expected but the taste was overpowered by the "steak sauce" heavily drizzled over the dish. The Brussels sprouts were well charred and had a sweet glaze that balances the bitterness of the char. To finish it off, I had the crème brûlée with blueberry compote which I would order over and over and over again. A crispy layer of caramelized sugar on top, a creamy interior, and the freshness of the blueberry's were all well executed. I would have appreciated a lighter thicker layer of custard on the inside. read more

Really appreciate the atmosphere and superb service at Crush XI. The menu offers a great selection with seasonal updates. We love the market fish, the salmon, and the pork chop. read more

We took friends in July, with 3 of 4 specifically choosing this spot for the flat iron which is listed on the permanent menu (not a special). We went early in the evening (5pm), before crowds and on a Tuesday. We were told they had run out of the flat iron, and so we had to scramble to find alternatives. Ultimately, our party was pleased with their meals, but no one was overly impressed. I think the disappointment of them not having their full menu available put a negative vibe on the overall experience. If you can't offer your full menu all the time, then it should be offered as a special when available. No one should have to call ahead to verify everything is available. It ultimately points to poor management on someone's part (inventory management , prep management, something). Not sure if come back given I won't ever really know if they have what's on the menu or not. read more

I didn't know what to expect, coming to a smaller town in terms of nice dining. We live in a metropolitan area, so our expectations are high for finer dining, and yet and still, Crush XI crushed it. We came here to celebrate our kiddo's bday, and from start to finish the meal and crew was amazing. I liked that we could do better dining in an unpretentious storefront. The team was warm and welcoming and lighthearted. You can tell it was a fun place to be, when their menu allows you to buy the back kitchen team a round of beers. The other nicest touch was a hand written birthday card with the entire staff's signatures to celebrate. Everything is fresh and from scratch. We had the crab bao, the fresh baked sourdough bread with dipping oils, the fried chicken appetizer, salmon crispy rice, caesar salad, burger, peanut sauce chicken, and carrot cake ice cream dessert, as well as the berry dessert. Every single item was well portioned, fresh, seasoned well, and unique. There was an asian vibe woven throughout the menu, but not so much that if you didn't want asian for dinner, that you'd be put off. It was just amazing. Can't wait to visit Melbourne again to come back! read more

Bravo Crush XI, Thank you for an amazing experience Sunday! We appreciated Sydney and her fantastic service. She was knowledgeable, witty, and always attentive. She is a treasure. We enjoyed several appetizers especially the dates, the scallops and the truffle fries with aioli. The margarita with hibiscus was fantastic with just the right spice. Our dessert of the refreshing pomegranate crème brûlée was a revelation. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We live locally and we support local businesses. We will inform our network, our friends and family how fantastic Crush XI is! We loved everything, thank you so much and we will be back. Best Regards, Cheryl and Bob read more

Must have went on an off night. They said their meat producer must've not grinded the meat correctly? Me and my friends got the burgers and there were hard boney pieces in all of them, we couldn't eat them. The staff was very nice and took them off the bill. The desserts were good. read more

This was my first time eating out anywhere since Covid lockdown back in March, and I was not disappointed! This place is located in the heart of downtown Melbourne, is easy to find via GPS, and there is street parallel parking in front of the restaurant. The tables were socially distanced, and only at 25% capacity. We were greeted by our sever who wore a face mask, and presented us with a modified menu. We ordered appetizers, one entree to split between two of us, and two desserts. I was there to celebrate a birthday of a close friend, and the staff made our deserts extra special with candles and a happy birthday message in chocolate sauce. My favorite of the night was the Brussels sprouts! We were given a round of complimentary aperitifs of a delicious orange cello that was so smooth! Our service was great and the food was amazing. I will definitely be back here the next time I am in town visiting friends. read more

Crush Xi - A Health Hazard with Terrible Management If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Crush Xi is hands down one of the most unsanitary restaurants I've ever stepped foot in. The floors were sticky, the tables were okay The silverware looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned, and don't even get me started on the bathroom--it smelled like it hadn't been properly sanitized in weeks. The kitchen is visible from parts of the dining area, and let's just say, I wish I hadn't looked. I saw employees handling food without gloves, cross-contaminating ingredients, and touching their faces before continuing to prepare dishes. It was genuinely disturbing. As for the management, they are beyond unprofessional. When I brought up my concerns about the hygiene, they were dismissive and rude, acting as if I was the problem instead of acknowledging the glaring issues. The staff seemed overwhelmed and poorly trained, with no sense of urgency or customer service. Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else. This place is a disaster waiting to happen, and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets shut down for health code violations. Avoid at all costs. read more

Solid 4 star food. Tasty and fresh. Fun menu options. Super over priced for the area, what you get, quality... I get it though, everyone wants to be elite. This place was fun, cute, excellent service but 29 for a salad with farmed salmon is about 10 over priced. Delicious? Yes! Not worth the inflated prices, in my opinion. Easily pay 29 for that same salad at a fine dining establishment with wild caught fresh salmon. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal, we had the flat iron with avocado mash: ordered Medium and came medium well; shrimp and grits & a burger; two apps: burrata and dates. The apps were lovely! Flavorful, fun and enough to share. Desserts were not interesting for our tastes, nothing chocolate available, sadly. The cute lil downtown old building with character is nice. If you are looking for a unique restaurant experience (that's overpriced), this is your place. read more

Probably the best restaurant in Melbourne if wanting more of a elevated experience. Craft cocktails and creative contemporary cuisine. Had the salmon that is currently on the menu and it was delicious! Scallops app, which even when they had the previous scallop app was a winner. Caesar salad is good, Thai salad with beef tasty, spicy shrimp pasta has a nice spice and good portion, pasta with duck and really good as well. I've ordered the rice and black beans side, would've preferred it to have more salt. Probably the most blandest item on the menu both times I had it. The salmon crispy rice was delicious, balanced flavors and textures. Our server last time was the best server I've ever had. She described the food, drinks and dessert with such knowledge and excitement that it seemed like she could've been a chef or mixologist. read more

So this place has some absolute highlights that I can not speak highly enough about, but there are still a couple areas I think they can improve on that would make the whole experience flawless. First the high points, the food is very well executed. The menu was well thought out and the dishes are well balanced. There is a good spread of option so everyone in your party should find something that they will enjoy. They have an excellent beer, wine, and cocktail selection as well. They provide pairing suggestions that are well thought out and very reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, most importantly if they don't know... they are quick to find the answer and get right back with you. The location itself is well laid out and is very inviting. The down sides start with the restaurant... it is very noisy and it echoes off of the hard surface floors and ceilings. Would highly recommend some sound paneling very installed. With a larger group seated nearby, it became difficult to maintain a conversation at our table at times. The cocktails are creative and interesting, but they could use a little balancing. The bacon old fashioned was a little too salty, you have a difficult time finding the maple and surprisingly the bourbon. I suspect it has to do with how they are doing the bourbon infusion. The biggest shoutout though goes to the thoughtfulness they put into patrons with gluten allergies. They have dedicated and entire section of their kitchen and tools to gluten free prep only in order to ensure no cross contamination. This is mostly unheard of in most kitchens and my hat is off to them for it. I am absolutely looking forward to my next visit! read more

I came here for the first time for my birthday dinner on Saturday night and had an incredible meal. Our server made a lot of great suggestions starting with the French 75 and burrata. Next I went with his recommendation of the fresh catch which was red grouper from Madeira Beach. The dish was fantastic but for $55 the portion was very tiny. I'm guessing it was a 6 oz. portion of fish? Everything was fresh and made from scratch. I would definitely come back for a celebration meal. read more

They had a "special" NY strip offered. They charged $125 dollars for it. The highest priced item on the menu is half that. No apology, awful customer service. read more

I have always heard of this place and never tried it; it always seemed like boujee southern food! Lol. But, I came for brunch the first time and then lunch the second time and let me tell you...it did not disappoint! Crush Xl is known for their signature cocktails so we had to give a few a try. They also have daily specials that the server tells you before looking over the menu and one the options happened to be cheese filled dates wrapped in bacon. I was weary at first, but the sweetness of the dates complemented the the richness of the goat cheese (or maybe it was Gorgonzola?). I also had to try their Parmesan truffle fries so I added it onto my sandwich. The fries were not bad, but the Parmesan to truffle oil ratio was more than expected. The second visit wasn't as quick since most places are still short staffed, but that did not take away from the food and service. read more

I used to come regularly before I moved. I came in town recently and stopped by, but I won't be returning here again. I had a bad taste in my mouth before I even got my food. When I entered, the restaurant was empty, but I was told to wait for a table. Ok, sure. But then while I was waiting I overheard the manager talking very condescendingly to the staff. She even rolled her eyes at them, right in front of me! I hate when places don't treat their employees well. Someone as young looking as her should know what it's like and treat people better. All the staff looked depressed. When I used to come, it was a way better atmosphere. Like, people actually wanted to be there! I was going to leave after witnessing this, but decided to stay because I wanted to tip the server for having to deal with this place. Anyway, the food is NOT what it used to be. Drowning in msg and salt, yet no flavor. The duck pasta had three little pieces of duck. Only good thing was dessert and drinks. read more

We went to Crush XI the Saturday before Mother's Day. Overall, we liked the food and were happy with the ambiance. My only issue was how long it took for the waiter to serve us. He was super enthusiastic and was awesome when he came by the table, but we wait almost half an hour after he took our appetizer order for him to come back and take our dinner order. We understood he had other tables; however, another table was eating dessert before we even had our dinner and they were seated a while after us. Other than that, we enjoyed the pork chop and the orecchiette. We were super disappointed that they didn't have any duck tenders available, but hopefully they have them next time! read more

Located in Historic Downtown Melbourne, this spot has a great vibe inside. It has this industrial rustic look that has a cool charm to it. Between the decor and the lighting it is a great date night spot. The food was priced how you'd expect for the quality you get and they make a great old fashioned if you're looking for a nice drink to relax with. My wife had a burger which was really rich but very tasty. I had a duck pasta of some kind, which wasn't my favorite, but it was more because of the color and texture of the dish than the taste (I don't think I was expecting a grey looking pasta dish.) Their best dish was an appetizer (medjool dates), which was delicious, but you don't get a lot (and you'll want more ) I would definitely recommend to others and will be going back for future date nights with the wife. read more

@crusheleven in Melbourne FL, I can honestly say the ambiance and decor are evenly matched with the incredible cuisine. From street view, you see a hot pink door with a whimsical window design. Enticing from the start. And once you enter, your eyes have so much to feast on from the floral patterns of their furniture, to the dainty tiles used in back splashes, to the strong oak and iron bar, to the light fixtures that touch on modern with a feminine quality to the art work that just bring it all together --its design is impeccable. The staff were so courteous and attentive to all our needs. The menu had ample options for vegetarians as non alike. This is a restaurant I MUST go back to! Featured is their Serrano & Blackberry Margarita with a sweet & salty rim AND French 75 Cocktail with Champagne AND Featured is their Squash Salad w/ Butternut Squash, Grilled Chicken, Herbed Goat-cheese, Shaved Apple, Spicy Candied Pecans, Sorghum Vinaigrette. So I never had the chance to experience Crush Eleven when they were located in Cocoa Village. Just never got around to it but I did here that the food was excellent. When I heard they had moved to Downtown Melbourne and took over the space previously occupied by the highly disappointing Firehouse I knew I had to give it a try. Yesterday I was accompanied by Niki and two close friends. It was Niki's birthday and we wanted to take her somewhere new and special. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Our server was very friendly and helpful when explaining the specials. First we ordered bottled water and cocktails which came in a reasonable amount of time. The house signature Manhattan was served straight up and very tasty. To start we ordered green fried tomatoes and duck fat fries. Both came in a reasonable amount of time. The fried green tomatoes were good but not great. The duck fries were tasty but honestly I wasn't impressed. A wedge salad, a bit on the small side as advertised but enough to say that I had a reasonable amount of cold veggies. I found the flavors light but very fulfilling. For my entree I ordered the duck with brussel sprouts. Both came in a reasonable amount of time and both were fabulous. Quality ingredients, expertly prepared, and presentation was spot on. My dish went very well with the Pinot Noir our server suggested. Dessert was a bit confusing and I think this is where they need to rethink their offering. We ordered what appeared to be sweet and lightly crisp puffs with a side of cream and strawberry. This dessert kind of fell flat to be honest. Two couples shared two orders and nobody was impressed. I will definately be back for drinks, dinner, and wine but may go elsewhere for something sweet. Just a side note, am I the only one who feels uncomfortable while in the mens with these chickens staring at me? read more

Our hotel staff recommended this restaurant so we gave it a try as it seemed to meet our needs. So let's get to it! Pros: Food is very good. Staff is very nice. Decor is lovely. Menu options are great and their sampler menu is a great value and delicious. Outside seating area is lovely though they neglected to turn on the bistro lights after dusk. (small thing but apt management should catch that.) At first, they had people spaced out very well and it was comfortable dining inside....for a moment. Cons: The waiter had his own definition of what a face mask is for and it became more of a chin/bottom lip strap. For as long as the pandemic is relevant, we won't continue to patronize restaurants who have not made if CRYSTAL clear to their staff that their mouth and nose are to be all the way covered for the time they are with the diners. He was a younger guy so he has that invulnerability of the 20 something crowd and kept moving his mask up toward his nose (patrons really don't want to see waiters touching their mask and then later serve their plate) however it's quite obvious that this management has not made it clear that "no face cover/no work" is going to be the policy here. If a waiter's nose or mouth is visible, the restaurant industry is not the place for you right now. Inside tables were sticky. This is a deal breaker for me. The mind starts going a little crazy trying to identify the source of the "stick" and the dining experience is ruined. Restaurants have little excuse (especially during COVID) to seat a sticky table. The table next to us...same thing...clearly the same ubiquitous rag was used to clean both. Once seated, it did get busy and despite having an entirely separate and empty dining room to seat, they decided to squeeze everyone into the front dining room. Poor management decision as tourists are just now coming back to town and still cautious about eating out. Give them some space. It got entirely too "poeple-y" in there so we asked to move outside as it had thankfully cooled off a bit. This was actually lovely for a short time until about dusk. After that, we were approached at different times by two different homeless people looking for food or money. One of them was quite aggressive and yelled profanities quite angrily at us when we asked him to leave and threw garbage in front of our table. Now...these are hard times, I am not without sympathy, and when at home, we do our part to help our those in need...and we always have. However this man screaming profanities at us quite aggressively was scary and from that moment on, I was done. I wanted to get to the car and leave because we had already seen this man earlier in the late afternoon chasing another man down the street and threatening him as well. My overall point is this, while it was lovely to have the porch seating to ourselves, the experience was completely ruined due to the stressful nature of the encounter. The waiter acknowledged it as if it was not an uncommon encounter. We actually got our dessert to go and really had no where to eat it so that was wasted. It would be nice to see the restaurant work with the city or take other measures to ensure that outdoor diners are safe. If you are eating outside with other patrons or a large group, you'll probably be fine...safety in numbers. Management was made aware as we quickly came inside and he apologized and offered us shots of something which was nice but I do not drink and we were already standing there with our packed up food. If they work on a cleaner and safer environment with waiters who respect the moment that we are in relative to mask wearing and develop a protocol to ensure tables are property cleaned, this would be easy five stars. read more
