the cookies are always tasty and the employees are always nice. I am a fan of all the chocolate cookies and my wife likes the fruit ones.

Yum!!! These blow that other cookie place out of the water. That said, this, for me, is a special…read moreoccasion cookie joint. They are intense! Delicious, but intense. We ordered 4, cut them into 4th, so we all could try them, and a small bite of each of the quarters was all I could do in one sitting. I'm not mad about having more for later though. We got the hostess cupcake cookie, the cinnamon toast crunch snickerdoodle, the biscoff s'mores croissant, and the caramel Blondie cookie. So good! It was just under $20 for all 4. Not cheap at all, but, again, for a special occasion, it's fun to try.

When we stopped in today, there was the obligatory chocolate chip, a Carmelita (which IS delicious), a peanut butter cup and then some weird offerings like eclair (looked like a donut) and a super thick brookie. We got a four-pack with two choco chips, the Carmelita and the peanut butter cup. The first cookie we tried was the choco chip. I like a good chewy cookie but we both thought it was so thick it didn't get completely done. Good flavor. The Carmelita was good--so good we wish we had four of them in our pack. I got coconut, caramel bits (plus the drizzle) and chocolate chips. Maybe a little oatmeal too. Really good. If it's in the rotation, get it. The peanut butter cup was good but like the chocolate chip ones, was a bit underdone for my taste. Everything had great flavor though!

The 1st 2 times I had the steak and my husband had the ham sandwich (I know... he's a sandwich man... but it's seriously good). Last night I took 2 of my girlfriends for dessert. One is gluten free so we got the lava cake. Kale, who was my waiter for our 1st visit, was our waiter again. He remembered my name and my husband's name! He also remembered me asking about a GF menu for my friend. He is so warm and inviting and kind-- I'm not sure Rise knows how lucky they are to have him! If I didn't like the food, I might still go based on service and atmosphere alone. But let me tell you.... The food is divine. Kale genuinely cares that people have a stand-out impression of the place. And we all did! My friends are both so excited to go back and now understand why I keep raving about it! Be back soon!

Happy Hour review: I've heard really good things about…read morerise's happy hour and so we gave it a try on a Friday afternoon. Happy hour runs 3-6 PM with a minor discount on wine flights ($1 from my estimation) and cocktails. A complimentary Rillette or cheese plate is also available. These are truly small plates but they are presented beautifully and come with cornichons, olives, and port-soaked figs. Pretty much the perfect bites. I went with a wine flight and my friend went with a mimosa. After that we both needed to do a mocktail as we were driving. We tried an orange fizz and a pomegranate fizz. Both were good (and maybe even better than the real cocktail). We also got bread service. I would certainly try this again. It was a great quiet place if you are looking for a more low-key happy hour.
