We had our re-pipe project originally scheduled on Mon Dec 9th but we were contacted on Thursday Dec 5th that we were going to be pushed back until Dec 23rd. When I asked how long the project was going to take, they couldn't give a clear answer due to the holiday and not knowing if the city would come out for an inspection until January. Luckily they called us the following Mon Dec 16th and asked if they could start the project tomorrow Tues Dec 17th. We were originally told it would be a 4 day project (2 days piping, 1 day inspecting, 1 day patching), so when we accepted the Dec 17th start date we were told we were still on track to finish Fri Dec 20th. At the end of the 2nd day they informed us the piping would require 1 more day. I was okay with that as long as it meant the work was high quality- we definitely didn't want a rushed job or to not pass inspection. We were told there was a good chance we could have the inspection first thing Friday morning and then the patchers could start immediately after the same day. Unfortunately the city inspector didn't come until 1:30 PM on Friday and of course by then it was too late to start the patching. They informed us that no one works on weekends but someone would be out Monday Dec 23rd to finish the patching for us. On Monday I went over to the house to unlock the side door. They informed us they had a morning project in West Sacramento but would be to our house in the afternoon to finish the patching. I stopped by the house at 4:30 PM to check on the progress but I got there and realized no one had been there all day. I immediately called the office but their response was that they called my cell phone twice and the person who had told them they had the wrong number (the same phone number they had been calling me on this entire time). Our furniture/floors were still covered in plastic with holes in our walls. They promised us they would be there first thing in the morning on Xmas Eve to patch our walls. They worked a half day to then inform us that patching is more than a 1 day job and there was no way they could have finished it on Xmas Eve anyway. This was frustrating because it had never been communicated to us that the patching was going to take 2 days. On Xmas Day, no one came. But on Dec 26th, they were at our house again to finish. I had to drive home on my lunch to let the guy know I had found some dents in the walls and the guest bathroom shower plate was loose. When I got home that night, I noticed the same things were still there. They reported to my fiancé that they needed one more day (so 3 days total) to finish the patching, and came again on Fri Dec 27th. When I got home from work Friday night, I noticed that there was still a ladder, shopvac, and other random tools inside and on the side yard of our house. The plastic and paper coverings were gone. I called the office to leave a voice mail that night, but had to call the office the following Monday because no one returned my call. The office confirmed that the project was done but that the worker had left his stuff, so I informed her that there was damage to our house and there would need to be a walk through with the owner or manager. She said with the holiday that no one could come out until Thurs Jan 2nd. ***I'm updating this review from 1 star to 3 stars in response to how they resolved the issue. As disappointed as we were, Rob came out on January 2nd and worked on our house for about 6 hours until 9:30 PM. He was able to fix all of the issues (except one that he said he would return to fix) and schedule a time for someone to re-do the texture the following week. He also gave us a free work order for any future house calls. He informed me that the individual that they deemed responsible for all of these issues (damage to property and incomplete/improper texturizing) is no longer with the company. I don't think the poor workmanship represents Crown Plumbing as a whole but I would hope they continue to practice quality control with their employees so that issues like this don't affect future customers. I also hope they give future customers more realistic timelines for projects, especially around the holidays. Rob is very hard-working and takes pride in the quality of his work. I scheduled an appointment and they gave me a time frame of 10-1. At 12:45 I call them, they did not reach out to me. They said they would be there closer to 2. At 2:30 I called them, they did not reach out to me. They said they were 15 minutes away. I had to take the entire day off work waiting for them and then they were unable to fix the problem and needed to come back out. I set an appointment for Tuesday, first thing so that I would not be waiting this time. They called me to reschedule for Wednesday, fine. But they neglected to tell me I was no longer first on the list. I called at 830, they did not call me. They said they would be there at 10. At 10:30 I call them, they did not reach out to me. They tell me they were delayed by an emergency call. I have sewage in my garage and I am not an emergency? They said I needed to wait until 1. I fired them on the spot and have to get another plumber out to start all over. I can't be waiting at home for you guys to show up whenever you feel like. There is no communication and no attempt to help their customers. Update: i am now being accused of criminal activity such as warranty fraud and environmental offenses. after crown plumbing stood me up i cancelled my service contract and paid out of pocket for an emergency plumber to come out and fix the line. Kind of hard to argue there is warranty fraud if i paid for it myself right? Further, the TWO (2) plumbers i paid to clear the line and provide a video of the line verified there were NO root obstructions, which was the improper diagnosis that crown plumbing gave me. Root obstructions are not covered by home warranty and represent a money making opportunity for crown plumbing beyond their agreed upon rates with fidelity home warranty. and yet i am the one being accused of warranty fraud. as far as contaminating the soil with chemicals i purchased online, i purchased root killer which was properly flushed down my toilet in accordance with the instructions. And none of this addresses the perpetual tardiness and lack of communication which was the sole basis of my 1 star review. Crown plumbing came out to fix my clogged kitchen drain. Unfortunately our drain pipe where the clog was located needed a snake to go down about 17 feet and they needed to come back with longer equipment to clear it. I was frustrated due to being sick with flu and not having my kitchen sink to do dishes. Walter the owner, called and assured me they would fix it first thing the next day and they did. So the follow up and customer service was great! Just wished they had brought the big guns the first time! read more

I contacted Crown Plumbing to fix a leaking 9 year old Price Pfister shower valve.  They told me they would charge $250/hour.  Later, they told me they could not find the valve replacement part locally.  After several days of the shower being inoperable, they gave me an $1800 estimate to replace the entire Price Pfister shower fixture with a Delta fixture.  They spent a total of 3 hours on my property over a several day period.  I expected the actual bill to be under their estimate, but they charged me the full $1800, and when I asked for the work to be itemized, they told me that they charge a flat rate for this type of work.  I believe they upsold me on the new fixture because I don't know anything about plumbing, and I'm a senior female.  But not only did Crown Plumbing upsell me, but they charged way over the going local rate for a shower fixture replacement, and took 5 days to complete 3 hours of work.  I have learned from this experience, but seniors and women should beware of this company. read more

Easily the best money I could have spent. I had a situation where I was attempting a repair on my shower handle. I ran into an incredibly stubborn piece. The tool that came with the repair kit had broken while I used it and took out a stem that I was using to control the water from the shower head. Unfortunately my shower handle cartridge had broken in the on position, so the only way to turn it off was to cut the water main to the house. This left us in a situation where we really didn't have water until I could get a new cartridge installed. So I needed a plumber. This happened on a Sunday evening around 6pm. I figured I was probably out of luck on getting a hold of anyone until Monday morning. I called several plumbers, the earliest I could get someone to come check it out was Tuesday. I was prepared to accept that but decided that I'd give it another shot. I called Crown Plumbing and I'm so glad I did. They had mercy on me and came out that night. The tech said he didn't like to leave people stranded. I literally pulled him away from him relaxing by his pool to come check out my problem, which I still feel bad about. He came by about 20 minutes after we spoke to diagnose the issue. He attempted a repair, but he didn't have the specific tools needed for this stubborn cartridge. The following day he showed up first thing the next morning with more tools and his torch and within about a half hour he had the cartridge replaced. He made it seem easy, but I'm absolutely certain it was much more difficult than he let on. I can't tell you how grateful I am to know a plumber like this. I will certainly be giving him more business as it rolls in. If you're on the fence about giving Crown a call I'd say do it. They certainly treated me right, the plumbing knowledge and experience is there, but more than that the customer service was very much on point as well. read more

After using previous plumbing companies in the past. Which I was never fully satisfied with. That's why I kept using a different one for each issue. I finally found one that was an awesome and very professional experience from start to finish. They were able to get me a pretty accurate estimate over the phone. They talked about possiable issues that they may run into that would effect that estimate and what that may look like. The plumber that came to the house looked at the issue and discussed possiable problems that may arise plus different payment options to include home warranty. Lucky there turned out not to be any serious issues and was able to keep the lower end of the estimate. I truly felt like the put the customers comfort and quality of work above everything else. Unlike most of the plumbers i've worked with, he didn't make me feel bad for trying other alternatives before calling for help. He then proceeded to give me tips and suggestions on what to do and change so that we don't have to encounter this kind of problem again. Where do I start. I purchased a 4-Plex in midtown Sac last year. I began a complete remodel shortly after. The piping was all galvanized steel and needed to be completely replaced. I met a couple people and made the biggest mistake of hiring someone unlicensed to start the work. What a disaster. After costing me thousands of dollars and numerous blatant errors, we parted ways and I reached out to Walter from Crown Plumbing via a referral from another contractor. When Walter came to do a walk-through, I knew I was in good hands. Not only did Walter have to correct the mistakes of the previous plumber so it can pass inspection, he still had a complete remodel of the bathroom. After contracting Crown Plumbing to finish the work, we found several more issues along the way. The center wall in the bathrooms had been destroyed from repipe jobs over the last 70 years and needed to be completely demo'd and rebuilt. Walter had a solution, he called his framer and they had the 2 walls rebuilt in a day. Crown Plumbing also had to move a toilet across the room, working with limited space to maintain grade as well as structural members in the way. Walters crew was able to seamlessly navigate the problems and we were able to pass the inspection the first time. The crew was very friendly and were very easy to get along with. Walter supervised the project from start to finish and ensured that the work was done to code and that it looked professional. There was no request that I had that Walter and his crew wasn't able to deliver. While Crown Plumbing's prices are not cheap by any means, they are also not as expensive as others and Walter is very fair when bidding the job. I have just finished my final inspections and they passed with flying colors. I am incredibly happy with the quality of work that Crown Plumbing provided. I will absolutely be using Crown Plumbing for any plumbing work I have in the future. read more

I give Crown Plumbing all the stars from the universe. 5 is not enough!My ordeal started two weeks on a Saturday when I planned to add a water line by using some sharkbite connectors. Little did I know that the pipes I was cutting into was KITEC. Screwed up! That's how I felt after calling a few places and getting the same response that you must change the entire pipe lines. After calling a few places, by some luck, we spoke to Walter more than happily sent Brian over at 8pm. Brian is a "beautiful man " (just as Walter) who was very honest from the moment he arrived and informed us that he can place a temporary fix but it will only do so much. He then ran up the attic to confirm and educated us on the situation on hand. I have attached pictures of his finding. The shit was about to blow any day. He talked to us and since he couldn't fix my mess, he didn't charge the service fee. Talk about honesty. Next morning Walter showed up at noon as promised. Wow! He woke us up real quick with his sense of humor. It was like being in a comedy club at the Punchline. If you are unhappy about silliness and jokes, move along. Walter may be bit of handful but in a good way and he declared an urgency to get our water back so that my 74yr mum can resume doing her things. We settle in on a price and he called me back that sunday to let me know they will begin work that Wednesday and it may be 3 days before we get water back. I waited and comes Wednesday morning, it was a welcoming site to see honest Brian and he brought and entire troop. There were 3 yellow crown plumbing vehicles in my driveway. Beautiful site. 6 people and total started working that morning in 90 degree weather. My hat off Brian, Rob, David and the rest of the team. Starting that Wednesday to Friday, you guys put in lot of effort, cleaning up each end to day to start the next. Even though I insisted that they should not clean up since they were coming back but it was their pride and Brian made sure it was done right. The yellow Van's, like yellow jackets Hornets, they worked hard with 90 to 100 degree weather. As a home homeowner, all you have to do is get out to the way and let the professionals gets to work. Their work was tirelessly exhausting. They put in long hours but comes Friday afternoon at 530pm, the stupid pressure pump was stuck and not moving from what it was set at. Silly Brian, he got me good!.Well it meant that the pipes held pressure. Time to turn on the pipes. No leaks what so ever. Bravo! To the team. You guys were no short of being marvelous. Yay I got my water back. This team worked amazing and yes they are just like any other individual. Every afternoon Brian took his time and reviewed the progress and what is pending. On the following Monday and on schedule, Walter sent his texture guy to do the hole in the walls. Now we are full and complete. They guys did a really awesome job of returning my house to the original state. I also attached a picture of the KITEC shit . Look at the opaque holes it had and the bumbs on the stupid pipes. Well all now all I have to say is , you guys are phenomenal at what you do. I got Walter and Brian on a speed dial for life no matter where they are. Hope you are ready for me but I doubt you will give me chance to call you but you all are always open to show up anytime. I would love a good laughter and conversation. We had an issue with our tankless water heater and have a home warranty. Crown Plumbing was assigned the job through the home warranty service. It took 4+ visits to get our new hot water heater installed, as the technician, Richard obviously was not knowledgeable on how to complete the install (this was confirmed by one of the owners). We were informed we needed to have a GFI installed and had an electrician out to install. Then upon Richard's return visit we were told it was not done correctly and needed installed outside the garage: After having the electrician out for a 2nd time which included an additional charge, the outlet was installed outside of the garage. Richard came out again and we were told it was still not done correctly. Had there been clear communication iwhat work was needed, we would not have incurred two unnecessary charges for electrical service. Upon the install of the new hot water heater, ( by a technician other than Richard) we are not getting hot water for more than a few minutes to the upstairs shower, tub and faucets. Our home warranty assigned another plumbing company to check our valves to make sure that was not the problem ( Crown Plumbing thought it might be the issue). The other plumbing company concluded the issue was with the new hot water heater. Richard from Crown Plumbing came out today and never let me know he was here and never came into the house to run the shower or faucets to see what the problem was. He reported to his company that he was at my home and ran the hot water and everything is fine. How do you assess an issue without communicating with the homeowner or come into the house? We still do not have hot water for more than a few minutes and Crown Plumbing has failed to resolve this issue. It has been over 5 weeks and our issue is not resolved and we still do not have hot water for more than a few minutes. We were charged an additional $1068 by Crown Plumbing for additional parts and labor and we still do not have a water heater that works properly. We are very dissatisfied with the lack of service provided by this company. After we had another plumbing company sent out it was confirmed there was not a shower valve crossover issue. The tankless water heater was adjusted and our issue was resolved by the other plumbing company. read more

After an inconvenient miscommunication they were able to rebook for the following morning. The appointment went smoothly and they were able to fix the pipe for less than the price originally quoted, which I appreciated. Well, everything happens for a reason because Crown plumbing was worth the wait! Friendly , knowledgeable, and professional service was paramount! Mr. Harris was great with my inquisitive children and my sweet (yet ferocious sounding) dog! The job was not easy and required him to get on the roof to access a main line. We discovered this morning that our hot water was out, and my numerous attempts to relight the pilot light were not successful.
