Ok so I finally had a chance to try this place about 2 weeks ago. And I'll say it wasn't bad. The…read moreribs were great , the dirty rice was delicious and everything else was just meh ! The greens had zero flavor which was surprising , and that Mac n cheese is just not for me. It tasty like Alfredo and not Mac n cheese. Too much garlic for my liking and it was a white sauce . I was looking for some cheddar Mac and cheese so maybe a little update on the description is needed there. Make sure people know it's not traditional Mac n cheese and it's Alfredo Mac n cheese. Not terrible but I just don't care for that flavor. The fish was typical frozen variety fried fish. So overall the ribs and rice are great and I would definitely go back for that but $9 for small rice was a little much. Doesn't come with cornbread or anything, I didn't know or I would have ordered that also. Overall portion size was good except for the $9 rice. Good spot for some quick eats !

Pro: Let's get right to the "knock out punch" of my order: the Smokin Mac topped with brisket!…read morePerfectly cooked mac, sharp cheesiness, and a heap of smoked meat to top?!? AMAZING! Will do again and again! Con: The chicken and dirty rice burrito was underwhelming for me. Both the rice and the protein were lacking zest and flavor. While the crisp of the grilled tortilla was nice, it shouldn't have been the star of this dish. Bottom Line: I'll continue to explore this menu and update accordingly...after the brisket mac n cheese!

My sister and I attempted to dine in and were told that the restaurant was closed for the Memorial holiday weekend. It was a little later in the day that we learned closing wasn't until 3 pm. I love the food but the service is questionable. I wish this hadn't happened because now I can no longer dine here.

The fish was well seasoned and cooked properly. The Mac & Cheese was tasty and complimented the fish well. My friend enjoyed their meal as well. We really did not have any complaints. The only issue was the wait time to get the food. That might've been a mix of the restaurant and the person delivering the food.

The fried basa, whiting, and chicken chop were perfectly fried and seasoned well. The asparagus, black eyed peas, and cabbage were great too. But the mac and cheese was the star! Oooey, gooey, cheesy goodness! The interior is cute and intimate and can't wait to sit for a meal next time. 10/10

It reminds me of Texas and can taste the 14 hours of smoky flavor. I took a smokehouse burger and wagyu beef togo and found them still warm after a 20 minute walk. Local Smoke BBQ - Cookstown…read more The BEAST takes on Local Smoke BBQ! Here's the problem--I'm not really a BBQ guy, but this place left me seriously conflicted. Instead of going with the traditional BBQ, I went Southern and ordered the fried catfish po'boy with collard greens, and I have to admit...the food was pretty damn good. The catfish was crispy, flavorful, and worked perfectly on the sandwich. The collard greens were solid, and the cornbread tasted great, although it was a little on the dry side. I was also looking forward to some Southern-style iced tea, but unfortunately they were out. The other knock for me was the setup. You order as soon as you walk in rather than having traditional table service, which takes a little away from the restaurant experience. Overall, the actual food surprised me--in a good way. A few little dings kept the score down, but I'd definitely eat that catfish po'boy again. The BEAST gives Local Smoke BBQ 3/5. Not bad at all for a BBQ joint reviewed by a guy who doesn't even like BBQ.

The misses absolutely hated it, but she is admittedly not a fan of spice, which is a good segue; you can't avoid the "hot" part of hot chicken here. This isn't the place for you if you can't handle heat. The BASE level of chicken is still spicy. The fries come with spicy seasoning. My wife's meal was basically inedible for her. My only real knock for Iffys was the wait. It took about 25-30 minutes to get our food. While I appreciate they are making it fresh to order, it was a bit of a wait. Also, the mango slushie we got was not it. WAAAAY too sweet. Eh, can't win em all. I would gladly go back, as I enjoy spice, but it's going to have to be a solo mission. The tenders come with bread, so there isn't *really* a reason to get a "slider," but I enjoyed the slider either way.

They are heavily breaded(think Popeyes). My daughter got her wings with the l sauce on the side and that was smart. My wings were tossed in buffalo sauce which caused the breading to be soggy. The picture on the sign did not show them as breaded as they actually are. The Mac and cheese can only be ordered loaded because the Mac is flavorless without the toppings. The sandwiches are okay. Better elsewhere. Their sauce that comes on everything is sweet. The sauce taste like thousand island and Catalina dressing had a love child with some spice. The young lady at the counter was nice. This is reviewed for what Stewart's is - quick serve, kitschy kind of place. The root beer was great as always. Nice and cold. It just tastes better in a glass mug for some reason. I tried the grilled chicken sandwich for the very first time ever. I was nervous because the California burger is my go to. I ordered it with lettuce, tomato, and 1000 island dressing. It was better than I expected. It had two thin pieces of chicken breast, which was a decent portion. The chicken was dry. I would order it again if I'm looking for a healthier option. Fries were meh. I don't think the portion size was large enough to share. The flavor was lacking and didn't to make me want to order them again. Maybe upgrading to cheese fries is the way to go.
