This is one of my favorite pool halls. They have $1/hour pool tables Saturday (daytime) and Sunday (all day). All you pay for is your booze. You can even bring in your own food. The tables are in great shape and the cues aren't too bad either. I hate going to pool halls where 90% of the sticks are crooked or missing tips. The drinks are a little on the pricy side, but when you're paying $1/ hour, you really have no room to complain. The crowd is great, not packed w/ college kids like Masse's in Walnut Creek. This is a place where real pool players go. read more

Wow. The tables at this place play very nicely. I pocketed a ball every break I made and even made the 9-ball once on a break. I play on an Olhausen table but they have Brunswicks too. Did I mention they have a bar that serves hard liquor and nice bartenders at that? The tables and balls very well maintained. Although not very well placed. They charge $12/hr with no credit minimum. It's definetly a place worth coming back too. I can probably play here for hours at a time. read more

Hustle your friends and have a brew. Great pool hall, fun vibes, good music (mostly) $1/ hour on Sundays. Can't beat that. So become a Natural and get your Paul Newman on! read more

Came here on a Monday night and it wasn't too crowded. I think this place has 16 tables and and you can tell they are some what "dated" but still in decent condition. The pool tables seem to be a bit worn and cue sticks are not the best but they will suffice. I think its probably due for a face lift and an equipment update. Overall friendly service and a good times with friends. The one thing that I was really excited about was that they had a Tornado Foos Ball table there for .50 a game! read more

This place is solid. Classy, well lit, no smoking, full bar, music's not too loud, I've never waited for a table. No sleazy hustlers, either. I've taken my dad and my brother, and not felt weird about it. Would totally go back. read more

This is a great place to play pool! Unlike the other pool halls in the Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Concord area, this has a clean and inviting atmosphere. The rate is really good during non-peak times and the bar seems to be well-stocked. Yay, I'm a fan! read more

This place was very spacious and clean, but super over priced. We got 2 drinks and played 3 rounds of pool. The bill was close to $60. I'd rather go somewhere where you put quarters down. Also, they didn't have hand chalk.... It's a pool hall. Side note: my date ordered an old fashion, but it came out bright pink and in a Cosmo glass. We got a great laugh out of it, but ladies.... Learn to make a drink right! read more

If you like to play pool and drink good drinks, Crown Billiards is the place to go. I don't know of another place on this side of the bay that has regulation-sized tables in quantity while also having a full bar. This place reminds me of Cheers, but with more pool tables - There are numerous regulars mixed with a large number of pool players on virtually any night of the week. They also have electronic darts for those who like that sort of thing. For the pool player- there are 8-ball leagues Tues-Thurs, a 10-ball tourny on Monday nights and a Straight Pool league on Saturday afternoons. For those who like to have a cocktail or two (or more, but whatever), each bartender seems to have their own specialty, but each tends to have a wide range of drinks in their mental library. Shots, cocktails, beers (even wine, but I don't go to pool halls to drink wine) and good times are what you can expect at Crown. With a decent beer selection (draft and bottle options) and a large vodka and tequila selection, their bar is pretty stocked and ready to go. Periodically, there is live music as well and their cover charges are low, though I have not attended many of those nights. Table rates are reasonable and are by table, not by person, and pool is $1/hr on Sundays- all day. Awesome. The owners are cool, bartenders are fun and work hard, and the customers are mostly well behaved (though there's one or two that I could never see again and be happy). You can bring food in from the various places around Crown, which is convenient. Happy hour there is from 3-7 but the discounts aren't that exciting but no place is perfect. read more

With some friends, bored, and want to stay in San Ramon? Crown is the place to go if you're in town as this is as crackin' as it's probably gonna get. Came in on a weekend night to catch up with a friend of mine over a few game of billiards and quite a few of the tables were already taken. The beer selection is small (about 5?), consisted of the ones you can find generally anywhere. Wish I asked for the hourly price since it was quite expensive, where my friend and I felt like we got robbed in an alley in San Ramon. I don't want to blame them since we didn't bother to ask for the rates and it IS San Ramon. They do have a dollar an hour rate at certain times, which I haven't checked out yet. It's a pretty clean establishment, but I would probably try to venture out of town at night or only come by if I have a group of friends to split the cost. read more

Was the only option in San Ramona for a late night cap. There was nothing special about the place.

Can't beat dollar pool at places that is not rowdy. $1 on sat and Sunday. Make sure you look at the hours on the $1 special. No spending limit ever and bartender not pushy on any drinks. 18 and up only since there are alcohol on premises. I will always come back when I'm in the area with friends read more

Fun little bar with lots of open pool tables and super nice bartenders. From east coasters perspective, drinks were pretty cheap. Bought a few rounds for under forty bucks. Oh and they've got this 18 year old Jameson that is amaaaazing. read more

Zero. Poor hospitality. Could try a lot better. Came on a Saturday and the main person was rude. This is a place I've come to a lot but I never expected the rudeness of the front staff. read more

Cool local place to play billards! They have about 13 tables, foosball table, TVs, bar, and jukebox. The facility is well kept and the bartenders were nice. We tried this place out for the first time last Friday, we arrived at around 7:30 and only two tables were being used. By 10:00 pm when we left the whole place was packed. Everyone is pretty good about picking songs on the jukebox so music kept playing. Just know that it's a mixed crowd of all generations so it all depends who is picking the songs. I would definitely come back to play pool here again. Restrooms: Separate restrooms for men and women. The women's restroom had two stalls, with toilet paper and seat covers. read more

Very nice room. Clean, nicely decorated, comfortable. Good for the casual players but especially good for serious competitors who want good equipment that is well maintained. To correct a few older reviews from 2012, Crown now has all Gold Crown tables. Very good bar with reasonable prices and wide selection. They do not serve food so they allow you to bring in outside food. Good Sushi bar next door too. But, no outside beverages. No more $75 prepaid card either. What there is is a $20 a month card that allows you to play from 3 - 6 Mondy thru Fri. Other table time specials also exist so come in and see for yourself. read more

Great place for a bar! It was spacious, the mood was friendly and laid back, and the drinks were super affordable! All my mixed drinks were $4 each!! Wow what a deal these days among the club prices of $10 and up. Plus the male bartender working last night was awesome! At one point, I wanted to try something different so he made up a drink for me based upon my likes and dislikes and came up with a great new concotion we now call "Fruit Punch." I reccommend trying it if you come here! Another added plus, they have a huge beer pong table which makes for more fun! Overall very pleased with this place..even the restrooms were pretty clean! Negatives: Doesn't get very busy in there so don't expect to go there and meet single people. Everyone was pretty much in groups and that was it! read more

Went here Saturday night. Overall, it was surprisingly great. When my friends say 'pool hall', I immediately thought of a small, dark, smokey crowded building - but this place was the exact opposite. Spacious, clean, bright, pretty well spaced out with many tables to choose from. Drinks were OK-priced, a tad bit more than i had expected for a 'pool hall', but I can see why. The jukebox was great, although it got much louder than is really necessary in the place. Necessitated yelling at each other over the music, not over other people. People were all friendly and nice - very relaxed atmosphere. The only reason this place doesnt get 5-stars was the bartenders service. Granted 2 people behind bar on a busy saturday night was tight, we were there early. There were just a handful of us waiting for drinks at the bar and its very clear that the ladies would prefer to serve the 'regulars' and chat with them while telling me she'll just be a few more minutes. That was a bit annoying. read more

JJ the bartender, she was so rude to us and she did not let us in. Although we called and asked about age policy. Will not come back. Feel so insulted for not letting us in although showed her the proof of ID with DOB. Waste of time. read more

Ended up here last nite. Pretty decent place. Tables seem well worn but nice enough. Has a little space with darts and stuff to the side. Could use a wider beer selection. The patio space outside is good for smokers, i think. The crowd was a lot better than at Masses (Wlnt Crk). Would go back there again. read more

This is the happening place in the area for younger people...though there is a good mix of ages...Shannon and Sara are the best bartenders! I don't usually play pool, but if the mood arises. Monday is industry night, and since I am in the industry the drinks and pool are cheap! read more

Came here on a Sunday around 3pm to play pool with a friend. There were a few people hanging out at the bar and a good amount of pool tables occupied. Luckily we were able to find an open table near the back by the restrooms. Bartender and the customers there were all pretty friendly. We stayed for about 2 hours- played a total of 6 games and bill came out to $1.50 Talk about value! Overall a great experience and will definitely come back. read more

Super friendly staff and service. The drinks were cheap and strong. Went for a double date with a good girlfriend and we had a blast. Ended up getting totally smashed. Pool was fun and we ended up dancing the night away to Justin Bieber on the juke box bahaha. Will be back! read more

My friends and I decided to try something new in the area and hit up Crown Billiards on a Sunday evening. We got there during a drink special time so we ended up getting super cheap drinks that weren't weak and playing pool for super cheap as well. The place has a lot of tables but filled up as the night went on. We were there and played a couple games while enjoying the juke box music. The equipment was in good condition and the place was clean and staff friendly. Defiantly a place to return to and a cheaper activity to do in the area! read more

Very friendly staff and cheap cheap prices! We didn't end up staying for long, but we played a few rounds of pool and it only cost 55 cents! It's also a good place to have an event since they have a back section with a few pool tables and space that you could rent out. read more

Crown Billards - Bars Near Me - San Ramon, California

Yep, I dig this place. Pyramid AND Lagunitas on tap AND they play classic rock.... I'd say they rock. read more

I came here last night, and I will grant that it was a very random night (Wednesday) but I was a bit disappointed. Now they have PLENTY of tables and a full bar so usually you can't go wrong there! But for the first hour there was NO music playing, and then when it finally did start to play it was screaming rock that guys that drive around in lifted jeeps play....needless to say that didn't really help my concerntration at all! Here's the kicker for me though....for a little less than two hours and four beers total....42 bucks! Whew! Now I realize they gotta make their money but 12 bucks an hour for a pool table? Just seems ridiculous. I could be pumpin quarters in that thing to play it and spend less money then that. Its hard to hate on 4.50 beers cause so many places rip you off....but it is San Ramon and not the city....lighten up a little! All in all, I think that I may just have to come on a Sat/Sun cause I just can't afford to get drunk AND play pool here any other night. read more

I really like this place. The place looks old but there pool tables are clean and the drinks are nice. The staff are friendly. I was there really late and on a Friday night, I expected more people. Not that o was complaining. Uber found the place easily and check out and check in was fast. Nice evening there. read more

Pretty chill place! Met here as a meeting spot for a little get together on a Saturday night, and ended up staying. Not too crowded which is unusual for a late sat night. Nice, laid-back crowd and cool bartenders (played along when we asked for a personalized drink!) Didn't get to play any games of pool because of a lacking of time management on my part. A half hour and 2 drinks go by and we forget that the place even has pool tables...better luck next time, wino :( All in all a good time. read more

This is a nice relaxing place to shoot pool. I didn't know this place existed until a friend of mine told me about it. The staff are very friendly and attentive. There's a full bar, a big TV to watch, and Wii to play on. There seemed to be an eclectic mix of pool tables there by different makes. Also, a majority of the tables have big pockets (hence the 4 stars for me). I believe there are a few with tighter pockets. Then there was a lone 7' bar table (pay per rack) on one end of the place. Overall a nice place, seemingly well maintained, and cheap! ($1/hour on Sundays!) The regulars came across as nice people too. If I lived closer I would visit this place more often. read more

Great pool hall Great tables, full bar, friendly staff, good parking. My favorite pool hall in the area read more

i enjoyed this place! bartender was incredibly nice. very few women in the place, but was fun to play pool. they have a TON of pool tables and pool sticks etc. read more

Not the greatest pool hall.... but I guess it could have been worse. Bartenders were a touch stuck up... and they drink on the job. Saw it with my own eyes. I was waiting to be served, but she was busy having a drink herself. She didn't appear to be off for the night. Plus, my Mai Tai came out kinda funky. The pool tables were in decent condition though. Nobody was too drunk or rowdy. read more

Great place to chill and play after work with friends plus get to meet new people every time. The service and bartenders are great.

Nice spacious spot. Plenty of tables to practice your billiard skills so that you can show it off later when your friends are around. Friendly bartender, 1 bartender, but didn't have to wait for a drink so no problem there. Free wifi, good drinks, good people...oh yes, good selection of music on the juke too to provide a soundtrack for whatever is happening. read more

The drinks are pretty good. Service isn't bad. It's a fun place. My complaint is when it came time to pay. The bartender told me that my card was declined, which I thought was weird because I have a small balance and a high credit limit. I was trying to use my phone to see what was going on but was having issues accessing my account on my phone. Since our Lyft was coming, my son just paid the tab so we could leave. The next day, I showed the transaction as pending which I thought was weird since the bartender said my card was declined. The charge ultimately posted to my account so I had to dispute the charge with my CC company. I find it odd that I was blatantly told my card was declined when it was not and makes me wonder if this often happens to people who drink there and might be too drunk to realize they are being double charged? My advice is go, have fun, but make sure you aren't taken advantage of when it's time to pay. read more

Walked in with my friends at 12:45am just looking to hang for a quick drink before closing, but the bartender and her friends ignored us and and then yelled across to room to come back and give us our ID's. And then proceeded to stare us down as we gave them. It was super rude and we felt really unwelcome- will never come back. read more

Awesome place! I love this place so much. Very chill spot for a good game of pool. There's a bar which is also spacious and bartenders are really super awesome! They definitely check up on you to see if you need any more drinks or anything else. Wait is not as bad, sometimes depending on the crowd it would be a short amount of wait time, even if you do have to wait for a table, you can play some pool in the waiting area, there is a like slot machine style to play before you play the actual pool tables which is pretty neat. I usually go on weekends so it's pretty crowded but weekdays are not that bad as well. There is an awesome jukebox that you can choose what songs you want to play. crowd is pretty chill. Although the pool tables in the front are close, but not close together to where you can't play, but if the cue ball is side by side, one may have to wait a minute or so for the other side to shoot so that they can shoot the ball as well. People are pretty nice there and they're pretty chill. Bartenders are amazing and kind. They are patient and also helpful for you if you don't know what you want to order yet, they will give you suggestions and ideas of what they like which is also helpful:) read more

Came here with some friends on a Wednesday night around the holidays. It was crowded, but there were still a couple pool tables left. The bartenders were very friendly and accomodating! We got a couple pitchers and played 4-5 games of pool. The other guests were having a great time feeding the jukebox and playing 90s-00s songs, which we enjoyed as well. Crown is a great, fun place to spend time with friends and we'll definitely be back again! read more

Reasonably priced drinks. Plenty of pool tables. Good music on the juke box (with a few cringe-worthy exceptions, but that's a matter of preference). Friendly bartenders. Chilled out crowd. Crown isn't any special, but what it does, it does right, and when you're looking to play pool and drink beer do you really need anything more than that? I'll definitely be coming back here for years to come when I'm itching to get my pool game on and catch up with friends. read more
