Very nice room. Clean, nicely decorated, comfortable. Good for the casual players but especially good for serious competitors who want good equipment that is well maintained. To correct a few older reviews from 2012, Crown now has all Gold Crown tables. Very good bar with reasonable prices and wide selection. They do not serve food so they allow you to bring in outside food. Good Sushi bar next door too. But, no outside beverages. No more $75 prepaid card either. What there is is a $20 a month card that allows you to play from 3 - 6 Mondy thru Fri. Other table time specials also exist so come in and see for yourself. read more

This place was very spacious and clean, but super over priced. We got 2 drinks and played 3 rounds of pool. The bill was close to $60. I'd rather go somewhere where you put quarters down. If you like to play pool and drink good drinks, Crown Billiards is the place to go. I don't know of another place on this side of the bay that has regulation-sized tables in quantity while also having a full bar. This place reminds me of Cheers, but with more pool tables - There are numerous regulars mixed with a large number of pool players on virtually any night of the week. They also have electronic darts for those who like that sort of thing. For the pool player- there are 8-ball leagues Tues-Thurs, a 10-ball tourny on Monday nights and a Straight Pool league on Saturday afternoons. For those who like to have a cocktail or two (or more, but whatever), each bartender seems to have their own specialty, but each tends to have a wide range of drinks in their mental library. Shots, cocktails, beers (even wine, but I don't go to pool halls to drink wine) and good times are what you can expect at Crown. With a decent beer selection (draft and bottle options) and a large vodka and tequila selection, their bar is pretty stocked and ready to go. Periodically, there is live music as well and their cover charges are low, though I have not attended many of those nights. Table rates are reasonable and are by table, not by person, and pool is $1/hr on Sundays- all day. Awesome. The owners are cool, bartenders are fun and work hard, and the customers are mostly well behaved (though there's one or two that I could never see again and be happy). You can bring food in from the various places around Crown, which is convenient. Happy hour there is from 3-7 but the discounts aren't that exciting but no place is perfect. read more

Came in on a weekend night to catch up with a friend of mine over a few game of billiards and quite a few of the tables were already taken. The beer selection is small (about 5?), consisted of the ones you can find generally anywhere. Wish I asked for the hourly price since it was quite expensive, where my friend and I felt like we got robbed in an alley in San Ramon. I don't want to blame them since we didn't bother to ask for the rates and it IS San Ramon. They do have a dollar an hour rate at certain times, which I haven't checked out yet. It's a pretty clean establishment, but I would probably try to venture out of town at night or only come by if I have a group of friends to split the cost. read more

Came here on a Sunday around 3pm to play pool with a friend. There were a few people hanging out at the bar and a good amount of pool tables occupied. Luckily we were able to find an open table near the back by the restrooms. Bartender and the customers there were all pretty friendly. We stayed for about 2 hours- played a total of 6 games and bill came out to $1.50 Talk about value! Overall a great experience and will definitely come back. read more

Went here Saturday night. Overall, it was surprisingly great. When my friends say 'pool hall', I immediately thought of a small, dark, smokey crowded building - but this place was the exact opposite. Spacious, clean, bright, pretty well spaced out with many tables to choose from. Drinks were OK-priced, a tad bit more than i had expected for a 'pool hall', but I can see why. The jukebox was great, although it got much louder than is really necessary in the place. Necessitated yelling at each other over the music, not over other people. People were all friendly and nice - very relaxed atmosphere. The only reason this place doesnt get 5-stars was the bartenders service. Granted 2 people behind bar on a busy saturday night was tight, we were there early. There were just a handful of us waiting for drinks at the bar and its very clear that the ladies would prefer to serve the 'regulars' and chat with them while telling me she'll just be a few more minutes. Cool local place to play billards! They have about 13 tables, foosball table, TVs, bar, and jukebox. The facility is well kept and the bartenders were nice. We tried this place out for the first time last Friday, we arrived at around 7:30 and only two tables were being used. By 10:00 pm when we left the whole place was packed. Everyone is pretty good about picking songs on the jukebox so music kept playing. Just know that it's a mixed crowd of all generations so it all depends who is picking the songs. I would definitely come back to play pool here again. Restrooms: Separate restrooms for men and women. The women's restroom had two stalls, with toilet paper and seat covers. read more

Great place for a bar! It was spacious, the mood was friendly and laid back, and the drinks were super affordable! All my mixed drinks were $4 each!! Wow what a deal these days among the club prices of $10 and up. Plus the male bartender working last night was awesome! At one point, I wanted to try something different so he made up a drink for me based upon my likes and dislikes and came up with a great new concotion we now call "Fruit Punch." I reccommend trying it if you come here! Another added plus, they have a huge beer pong table which makes for more fun! Overall very pleased with this place..even the restrooms were pretty clean! Crown Billiards always has great service! I always enjoy coming here not just for the pool, but for the drinks as well. The bartenders are the best because I always receive the best tasting drinks here. It is in a very convenient location, as there is a dance club (Shbooms) next door and several food options in close proximity. Crown Billiards is close to where I live too. My friends and I decided to try something new in the area and hit up Crown Billiards on a Sunday evening. We got there during a drink special time so we ended up getting super cheap drinks that weren't weak and playing pool for super cheap as well. The place has a lot of tables but filled up as the night went on. We were there and played a couple games while enjoying the juke box music. I came here last night, and I will grant that it was a very random night (Wednesday) but I was a bit disappointed. Now they have PLENTY of tables and a full bar so usually you can't go wrong there! But for the first hour there was NO music playing, and then when it finally did start to play it was screaming rock that guys that drive around in lifted jeeps play....needless to say that didn't really help my concerntration at all! Here's the kicker for me though....for a little less than two hours and four beers total....42 bucks! Whew! Now I realize they gotta make their money but 12 bucks an hour for a pool table? Just seems ridiculous. I could be pumpin quarters in that thing to play it and spend less money then that. Its hard to hate on 4.50 beers cause so many places rip you off....but it is San Ramon and not the city....lighten up a little! Pretty chill place! Met here as a meeting spot for a little get together on a Saturday night, and ended up staying. Not too crowded which is unusual for a late sat night. Nice, laid-back crowd and cool bartenders (played along when we asked for a personalized drink!) Didn't get to play any games of pool because of a lacking of time management on my part. This is a nice relaxing place to shoot pool. I didn't know this place existed until a friend of mine told me about it. The staff are very friendly and attentive. There's a full bar, a big TV to watch, and Wii to play on. There seemed to be an eclectic mix of pool tables there by different makes. Also, a majority of the tables have big pockets (hence the 4 stars for me). I believe there are a few with tighter pockets. Then there was a lone 7' bar table (pay per rack) on one end of the place. Overall a nice place,seemingly well maintained, and cheap! ($1/hour on Sundays!) The regulars came across as nice people too. If I lived closer I would visit this place more often. read more

Awesome place! I love this place so much. Very chill spot for a good game of pool. There's a bar which is also spacious and bartenders are really super awesome! They definitely check up on you to see if you need any more drinks or anything else. Wait is not as bad, sometimes depending on the crowd it would be a short amount of wait time, even if you do have to wait for a table, you can play some pool in the waiting area, there is a like slot machine style to play before you play the actual pool tables which is pretty neat. I usually go on weekends so it's pretty crowded but weekdays are not that bad as well. There is an awesome jukebox that you can choose what songs you want to play. crowd is pretty chill. Although the pool tables in the front are close, but not close together to where you can't play, but if the cue ball is side by side, one may have to wait a minute or so for the other side to shoot so that they can shoot the ball as well. People are pretty nice there and they're pretty chill. Bartenders are amazing and kind. They are patient and also helpful for you if you don't know what you want to order yet, they will give you suggestions and ideas of what they like which is also helpful:) read more

Came here with some friends on a Wednesday night around the holidays. It was crowded, but there were still a couple pool tables left. The bartenders were very friendly and accomodating! We got a couple pitchers and played 4-5 games of pool. The other guests were having a great time feeding the jukebox and playing 90s-00s songs, which we enjoyed as well. This is in a decent place in San Ramon but the service and policy is pretty crappy. I did not have my ID on my one night and I have been here plenty of times in the last. I'm 30 years old with grey hair lol. Lady still wouldn't let me in? I had an image of my ID on my phone, which obviously is mines and a police officer even accepted that once when pulled over for a traffic violation. So I had to drive all the way back to Fremont and pick up my ID.. pretty petty. I don't drink or anything as well just wanted to shoot some pool. Most likely won't be coming back here.. read more

The bartender was extremely rude... Happy hour is until 6PM and i walked up at 5:54. She took our order and took her sweet time and set our oder down right at 6PM and charged us full price. Then they told us we had to leave at a certain time because a large group was coming in. Definitely never coming back!
