I don't play pool regularly. We had a pool table growing up, but I'm not exactly skilled. I was on a pub a crawl that included a stop and game or two of pool. When we arrived ( no, we weren't drunk and rowdy yet- it was only our second stop) there was a line of people that were pretty serious about their pool game. Also pretty serious in general. The bartender was very welcoming and friendly. She got our drinks and set us up at our tables. We had a really great time. I'm very appreciative of how accommodating and helpful the staff were, because it's not always easy to be the newcomers in a spot like this. We'd definitely choose to come here again. They had a nice delicious beer selection, and excellent service. Our tables were off to the right side, separated from the main area. We were relieved not be mixed in with the super competitive pool peeps. If you love, like, or are just curious about playing pool, be sure to check this place out. And pay no mind to the 40 year old virgins giving you the death stare when you walk in. Once you start playing, they won't matter at all. The crowd isn't too douchey which is an achievement for a pool hall. The drinks are cheap and strong. The patio is nice for a breath of fresh air/view. Arrived around 830pm on a Sunday night and was surprised to see how lively the place was. All of their tables were occupied so we settled into the bar as we waited for a table to clear up. It seemed like there was only one employee managing the place. Making drinks and getting everyone settled to their tables. Service was good. While they have quite a few tables, they were taken up by a league. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table. I wasn't even aware that there was such a thing as a billiards league, but it felt very much like I was deja vuing with times spent trying to go bowling on league night. We ordered a few rounds at the bar, trying to make a hole in the tightly packed group of tables in the "lounge" section. It seemed they were all pushed aside to make room for something else, but unsure what. Played a few rounds once we got a table. We enjoy stopping her after work for a few drinks sometimes. The bartenders are always relaxed and friendly. There's multiple TVs in case you want to watch any spots. Then, of course, there's pool to play! We love taking over the jukebox for a few songs, but the last time we were there we were disappointed that they changed the jukebox and it was no longer connected to the smartphone apps. When we mentioned it to the bartender, she confirmed it wasn't but gave us $5 to play a few songs, which was really cool. It's a low key place - nothing fancy, but that's the point! You come here to relax and have some simple drinks or beers. Sometimes there's interesting people watching as some that come to play pool are quite unique! My son came here last Thursday, Dec. 23rd. A group of kids about 20-22 years old. No masks were worn, no IDs were checked and no vaccine cards were checked (not sure if that is required since it is not a restaurant). Turns out one kid had Covid and it has been spread to numerous kids and families and who knows how many now have it. Wish this place would be more careful! read more

Came here the other night with a friend. This was the first time we've been to a pool hall and I would say it was a pretty good experience for us. Bartenders were super friendly and I appreciated how well maintained the place was. The drinks were a little inconsistent when it came to how much alcohol was in each drink, but still were good. My only complaint is that we are still in a pandemic and no one was wearing masks here. This did make it a little uncomfy, so we made sure to keep our masks on. I have played pool for over 10 years and been many pool places such as Emeryville, San Mateo, Mountain View, Sunnyvale and Campbell. I have never had such bad experience as I had in Crown Billiard (San Ramon). Last weekend we (my friend and I) walked in and waited for more than 5 minutes without anyone greeting us. The Bartender ignored and avoided us even though we stood just right in front of her and tried to talk to her. We felt so not welcomed and left finally. I would never go there again and won't recommend it to any of my friends. That's the horrible (worst) experience I ever had. read more

Stay far away they double charge you and the bartender Desire was rude as hell to me and my friend.

The place is nice but the bartender ( I believe her name is Angie ) is very rude and unfriendly. We were here to have a good time and spend money and because she is so rude we didn't even want to order drinks at the bar or spend money here. The drinks are pretty good. Service isn't bad. It's a fun place. My complaint is when it came time to pay. The bartender told me that my card was declined, which I thought was weird because I have a small balance and a high credit limit. I was trying to use my phone to see what was going on but was having issues accessing my account on my phone. Since our Lyft was coming, my son just paid the tab so we could leave. The next day, I showed the transaction as pending which I thought was weird since the bartender said my card was declined. The charge ultimately posted to my account so I had to dispute the charge with my CC company. I find it odd that I was blatantly told my card was declined when it was not and makes me wonder if this often happens to people who drink there and might be too drunk to realize they are being double charged? My advice is go, have fun, but make sure you aren't taken advantage of when it's time to pay. read more

This review reflects my experience from Tuesday March 11th (technically Wednesday the 12th), whoever the female bartender is was drunk as hell and rude as hell to me and the other patrons. I usually come here and get served by Lidia who is amazing. I would usually give this place a 5 star review, but this girl's horrible service prompted me to leave a one star review. Management - get rid of this bartender please, she's terrible. She wouldn't acknowledge me for 10 minutes, the manager had to serve me. The rest of the bartenders are great! read more

Welcome to the Boys Club! The hubby and I arrived around 6:15p on a Thursday night and the after work/pre-league boys were in full swing. One of the bartenders and I were the only women in the place until about an hour later. While listening to the table next to us talk about plumbing and construction jobs, I couldn't help but think this scene was missing something. And then, it happened. Some one chose Journey on the jukebox. Perfect. Good clean spot for pool, not a great selection of beers on tap, but it sufficed. They don't shut the place down for league play which was nice, just choose a table in the back. The tables have been well used and the felt is all but worn off, so play was pretty slick. $16 for two beers and about 75 minutes of play. read more

Great place to play pool. There are a couple 7-ft coin-op Diamond tables, ~8 9-ft Brunswicks with tight pockets, and 5 9-ft Olhausens with looser pockets in the back. All the equipment is well-maintained and there's decent spacing between the tables. They have leagues or tournaments most nights of the week and I've never had to wait for a table even with the other stuff going on. There's a good number of serious players but there's always a younger, social crowd too. Get a $75 pre-paid players card to play for $3.75/hr if you plan to frequent this place, otherwise it's ~$12/hr. read more

Probably the nicest casual pool hall I've been to in the Bay Area (and definitely beats the lame ones we've got around Fremont). Crown Billiards has a large number of tables, and while we still had a bit of wait on a Sunday evening, it wasn't anything to complain about. Plenty of entertainment options including foosball, Wii Sports, and of course a fully-stocked bar can easily occupy your time. There are plenty of tables for lounging at, as well. This is definitely a cool spot for a casual get-together with friends on an evening where you don't feel like doing much, but still feel like hanging out someplace. Prices were super reasonable -- just 99 cents for the hour on Sunday when we played. read more

A fairly low key place to go, Crown Billiards is my favorite place to shoot pool. The facilities are well taken care of and the staff is very nice. The prices for drinks aren't bad, and even though I wish the price for playing was lower, it's still not so bad. One of the best things about Crown is that there's plenty of seating for observers or rests in between shots and they do have $1.00 pool specials some days. This is one of my favorite pool halls. They have $1/hour pool tables Saturday (daytime) and Sunday (all day). All you pay for is your booze. You can even bring in your own food. The tables are in great shape and the cues aren't too bad either. I hate going to pool halls where 90% of the sticks are crooked or missing tips. The drinks are a little on the pricy side, but when you're paying $1/ hour, you really have no room to complain. The crowd is great, not packed w/ college kids like Masse's in Walnut Creek. Wow. The tables at this place play very nicely. I pocketed a ball every break I made and even made the 9-ball once on a break. I play on an Olhausen table but they have Brunswicks too. Did I mention they have a bar that serves hard liquor and nice bartenders at that? The tables and balls very well maintained. Although not very well placed. They charge $12/hr with no credit minimum. Came here on a Monday night and it wasn't too crowded. I think this place has 16 tables and and you can tell they are some what "dated" but still in decent condition. The pool tables seem to be a bit worn and cue sticks are not the best but they will suffice. I think its probably due for a face lift and an equipment update. Overall friendly service and a good times with friends. The one thing that I was really excited about was that they had a Tornado Foos Ball table there for .50 a game! read more
