We get them and one is just bacon literally, one is quail that is very undercooked the rest we sent the back. Next hush puppies that are still raw in the middle. On to main course. I decided to try a bunch of stuff. Cup of red beans n rice, gumbo and crawfish etoufee were great. Waitress added some bread sticks. Sampler had pickles, boudin balls, wings and fried mushrooms. I skipped the pickles in favor of more mushrooms which they did gladly. Wings came naked and very crispy which I loved. Dipped them in Billy's sauce. Also had honey mustard and ranch. The crawfish was good. I like Mardi Gras of Memphis better. But this place was a close second. Like that this is closer to home and don't have to go to Memphis. The mashed potatoes were amazing but I will say something didn't agree with my stomach the next morning. Don't think it was bad, just didn't agree well. The wait was 45 minutes and so crowded I felt anxious but they got us in after 20 minutes so that was nice. They had our food to us in 5 minutes! Staff was nice but nothing stuck out. The food was decent. I ordered shrimp and grits. The cane out super pasty and it didn't seam fresh. If Tate's like overheating and dehydrated grits. The flavor was there but the texture was off. The beers are priced very well. The staff was nice but definitely inexperienced. This definitely feels like a mom and pop business. There wasn't a good sense of workflow and organization. It seemed like too much work and tables for only two servers. I think this place has a lot of potential and in order for this place to further succeed, there has to be some sort of order, prioritizing, and better training for the servers. My husband and I would like to come back one day... I just hope we won't be waiting over 15 min just to have a server come to greet us and get drinks. read more

If you're looking for down-home Miss'sippi fare served by ladies who could easily transition to diner servers off-shift, you got this joint. And joint it is. We went New Years Eve (early). The waitress was super friendly and polite. We had the gator bites for appetizer. My husband and I loved them. I had the blackened catfish and cold shrimp platter. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly! I have visited multiple times to bring friends and family! The reason for two stars only is this is the second time I have driven there with visiting family and they cannot seat us! Called 30 minutes before driving over and asked if there is a private party or reserved tables only. The lady said it is open seating and they will be open till 9pm. We arrived and told them party of seven and she said we can only sit outside! Half of the main tables in the main room where reserved. We said we would wait and she said we can only sit outside! We couldn't split into two tables, just outside! I said we just called and you said it was open seating! Well after being burned twice, I guess if I do go back I will call and see if I can sit inside! read more

FAILED TO IMPRESS ME --- I had heard about this place and perhaps I had high expectations. I liked that it is a very simple, laid back atmosphere. However, they have the ceiling fans turned on so high that I felt as if I had to hold on to the table to keep from getting blown away! Typical of the "south" much of what is on the menu is either fried and/or heavily seasoned cajun or spicy. I tried to work around that with a piece of grilled mahi mahi, corn on the cob, and a cup of corn & shrimp chowder ($14). The mahi mahi was a small sliver of fish that was overcooked and the corn & shrimp chowder had possibility except that the bite of the seasoning was overpowering and caused me to eat very little of it. The fact that it was served with an iced tea spoon made it a bit more challenging, too! The corn-on-the-cob was OK, nothing super, and it was a 1/2 ear at best that had been sitting for a while. We had ordered a sausage & cheese tray ahead of time; it was standard fare, although the waitress cleared off the table and we didn't get a chance to finish what was on it. To add a touch of fairness to this review, my friends got rice & beans and cajun seasoned hamburger steak and they said it was good. Bottom line, I think, is if you like southern/cajun seafood cookin' you'll be fine. As for me, I probably don't need to return - except I'd like to get some crawfish there IF they don't overly season them. read more

This place was awesome! We tried almost everything that they offer, ok well several things and they e salad and fried crawfish tails. All of those things were good and the crawfish tails were so good i ordered them for dinner. I also got a cup of gumbo, and man o man, i wish i would have ordered a bowl instead of ordering the other good food, because it was phenomenal. I have not tasted restaurant gumbo that tasted this good ever! The rest of the group had catfish, fried, frog legs with squash and mashed potatos with crawfish, fried shrinp, fried shrip poboy, and crayfish alfredo. Everyone shared their meal with everyone else and everyone agreed, it was the best meal that we have had in a long time. The only complaint is that on the poboy, they should have toasted the roll as it was so freash it kept wanting to fall apart. I would highly recommend this restaurant after Christmas as we are going to have our party there and haven't decided on a date. I dont want a bunch of ya'll crowding up the place during our party! Third time was the charm! I've take family here twice for dinner. The wait was awful for big parties. I waited over an hour both times and had to leave. Today my family went for lunch. The food was absolutely perfect! Fired shrimp, catfish and crab legs were all some of the best I'd ever had. Prices reasonable and wait staff great. My only caution would be big parties are not for this place. If the warther permits they have a nice outside seating area. read more

I just called today and the waitress put me on hold for 5 min, while I listened to her argue with another waitress about how she could not take my call in order because she was to busy and the other waitress responded that she was not going to do it because she was to busy. We've been here twice now. The first time we tried the catfish, the gumbo, and a po'boy. The gumbo was EXTREMELY salty, and the crawfish mashed potatoes tasted like straight lemon juice. We mentioned the mashed potatoes to our waitress and she went back to the kitchen and tried them. When she came back she agreed they were really lemony and kind of laughed and said "must be a disgruntled employee, those don't even call for lemon juice." That seemed like a really odd comment to make, especially since salty gumbo seems like a sabotage move too, but she was nice and took them off our bill without being asked. When we went the second time nothing on the table was fit to eat. Hopefully they can get the kitchen sorted out because it's a cool place and the waitstaff was friendly. read more

We got there about 4:30 and went in hostess gave no smile and was slow on eye contact, but seated us and left menus I guess what I'm saying is a frosty welcome makes an impression. Then we ordered appetizers Home made chips came to the table which was nice Pretty good needed a little salt We ordered Cajun crawfish dip very good we enjoyed Very much. And a cheese and sausage plate that was good. For dinner I had the alligator wrap nuggets these were great loved them and the cabbage was spicy and good Another order was for catfish and he said it was real good And got the spicy version another order was for a shrimp po boy and they enjoyed that. My husband got Jambalaya and it was dry and he said tasted like it sat on stove all day. I realize it's a new place and I wish you the best. I have purchased food from here three different times through bite squad. The first time, it was really good. I love cajun food and decided to order it again a few weeks later. The second time, I was told about 30 minutes after making the order that they didn't have what I ordered and were planning to substitute something I didn't want. I requested something else as a substitute, and they agreed. It took a long time to get the food, and it was not nearly as good as the first time. I decided to try one last time a few weeks later. I made a large order for the family, including one main item for my wife and I that was over $30. We waited over an hour for the food and the main item was missing out of the order that was well over $100. I called the restaurant to explain the situation; however, the manager seemed very unconcerned even though they were the ones that messed the order up. I was told that there was nothing they could do and I would have to handle it with bitesquad. By the time I got the food it was too late to make another order. We ordered the crawfish dip as an app as we've been here before and it was really good. It took a really long time to get the app and our drinks. Many of there menu items were not available, they ran out. After finally placing our order, I ordered a shrimp platter, when the meal came to the table there were about 12 shrimp. Unfortunately, they were really small shrimp, barely bigger than salad shrimp. The side I ordered was mac and cheese and it was cold. She server came back and heated it up, but it was still cold.
