Been here for the last 5 years. Great people and place to workout. Josh is the owner and is super great guy

This place , the people, the coaches , the owners!!! All amazing! Josh and Stephanie are amazing people. The atmosphere is one of a kind. I came into CrossFit not knowing what to expect. The coaches and people make this gym wonderful. Josh is extremely personable and knowledgeable and makes working out fun. Kathy and Don are also amazing coaches as well. The people are laid back but also get after it. Everyone is welcoming and encouraging. I have gotten stronger physically but also mentally as the workouts are challenging and you have to push yourself. read more

Do you want to want to work out but just can't find the motivation? This is where your whole view of exercise will change. I will absolutely admit I hate breaking a sweat for any reason, but Josh, the head coach here, has such positive energy that you can't help but be excited to lift heavy things and get tired. He's really knowledgeable and takes time to personally work with everyone in the class individually, helping you with your form or just encouraging you. They have a great space, and there's a really strong sense of camaraderie among the members. Each day the structure is within 1 hour: there is a warmup which is usually a handful of movements for ~10-15 mins, then you spend time working on a specific strength or skill such as squats, pull ups, etc. for around 10 mins. Then comes the workout, usually a between 3-6ish movements with a time/rest component. It's intense, but usually not more than 20 minutes and then you're done! The pricing is reasonable and you get lots of individualized personal attention, they'll work with you and accommodate any injuries or disabilities gladly. I get more out of it than ahy personal trainer. I can't recommend this place enough and I loathe exercise! You'll get your *ss kicked and love it. 10/10 read more

As I look ahead to the coming months, challenges, opportunities, goals and objectives in front of me, I can't help but be thankful for my CrossFit Determination and nutrition tribe! Seriously, this sport has changed me and DAILY makes me a better man. The community we have built and are building weekdays at 6AM makes me so proud. There's something at every fitness level, and friendly competition for pushing ourselves just a little bit harder. Time to aspire just a little higher and CRUSH my current goals! CrossFit Determination is just the place to dream big and accomplish great things in the sport of CrossFit! read more

Before I started, I assumed a crossfit gym would be filled with intimidating elite athletes might ignore me (at best) or mock my pathetic fitness level. But Coach Josh has created a real community of athletes that welcome new members, support each other, and celebrate everyone's improvements and accomplishments on a daily basis. Doesn't matter if you're a power lifter, a speed demon, an endurance beast, or a couch potato, everyone has a place at CFD. The coaches are willing and able to modify any workout to fit your physical capacity or accommodate for injuries. The members cheer on your effort without judging your abilities. Joining CFD, as a former member of couch potato nation, has been a life changer. Not only am I healthier and more physically fit than ever before, but I am happier, have more friends, and more confidence than I ever thought possible. read more

This place is a GEM! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! It's not just a box, it's a community; a family. After completing my 1st month of Crossfit, I knew I wanted to become a member. All the members and coaches are very welcoming, the team enviroment is very encouraging, non judgemental and you can tell everyone has their own goals to accomplish. They have the BEST instructors that want you to succeed at your own pace while challenging yourself to do better. The instructors are highly trained and know what they are doing and emphasize form over weight, which is essential in Crossfit. If your looking to make a change or trying out crossfit for the very first time, I highly recommend you come check this place out! I promise you won't regret! Special Thanks to my coaches Josh, Erica, Don and Belinda for being apart of my crossfit journey! read more

I have referred ten friends to CrossFit Determination, and each one has thanked me for the referral, from a competitor in CrossFit Games -- who has won numerous California-based competitions -- and a U.S. Special Forces operator who needs to be in stellar shape for deployment, to five fellow moms and dads who need help staying fit in the midst of juggling work-life balance. The owner of Crossfit Determination, Josh Westberg, truly cares about his clients, and I like to support a family-owned business that is helping women (and men, of course) evolve into their highest selves. I will be turning to Josh's expert coaching again as I progress from step to step in my fitness odyssey. And I think it's awesome that the gym provides special classes for homeschooled children. read more

I have been a member of gyms before but was always intimated by Crossfit. I just completed a one month trial and I can't believe how much I have fallen in love with this style of working out. All the coaches here are amazing. They are supportive and encouraging. They take the time to teach you proper form and technique so that you avoid injury. I have have noticed a big difference in my strength and energy levels in just one month. This facility has a really great group mentality...all supportive and no judgments. If you are thinking about trying crossfit, give it a try here...you will not be disappointed!!! read more

I tried bootcamp programs and another Crossfit box before landing at CFD nearly 2 years ago. While other places were welcoming, Josh took the time to make me comfortable with this new sport. He and the other coaches made sure I wasn't going to hurt myself as a newbie and as a masters (45+) athlete. And even today, good form is still a priority. I also love my community! The peeps I train with are inspiring! Everyone is encouraging, sometimes competitive (in a good way), and always push me to be my best each day I walk through the door. This past year I've been working with Coach Erika on my nutrition and seeing some really great gainz! I'm in this for the long haul! read more

Coaches are all very knowledgeable and the atmosphere is great! I have been coming here for about 6 months and have seen great gains in strength and skill, the programming is awesome. Best crossfit gym in Roseville. read more

Where do I even begin? Crossfit Determination is flat out amazing; I don't know how else to put it! From the community, equipment, coaches, programming, modifications for those who are injured, the atmosphere, it's all truly one of a kind. Coming from someone who has only been doing Crossfit for a little over a year now, it's great to see all the different athletic abilities as well. Thank you CFD for being the best gym around! read more

This is a really great place with awesome coaches! This was my main gym for about 1 year while I lived in the area and they made me a much better athlete. Great space, fun atmosphere and very knowledgeable people! read more

This is my absolute favorite gym! I have never been to a gym where I actually want to go back every day! I look forward to coming to workout here. The coaches are so amazing and they help so much. From the very beginning I've never felt lost because they always take out the time to help you. The people that go here are also super welcoming! I got a Groupon and I thought, "hey well if I don't like it then I won't come back." My first time was on a Saturday and it was so intense but I LOVED it! This is the place I go to unwind and let my energy out. It is always a challenge and I love it! When people ask me about crossfit I recommend it 100%! I have some friends I talked into coming, and they keep coming back too! Don't miss out on this great gym. read more

Probably the best Crossfit in the Sacramento area. So community oriented and such a welcoming environment. Would recommend this box in a heartbeat. read more

Stopped in on Memorial Day with some family members that were somewhat new to Crossfit. Josh did an amazing job welcoming us and making sure we were prepped and ready for Murph! Awesome turn out of fun and welcoming members. The gym is clean, spacious and well-organized. I would absolutely recommend this gym to anyone in the area or stopping by. read more

I began doing Crossfit a couple of years ago more for the efficiency of it than anything else. It is an extremely intense one hour workout that touches on everything: strength, cardio, balance, core. It is perfect for people like me who have careers and families and don't have time to waste standing around a typical gym. It wasn't until I moved to CFD and Josh's programming that my fitness level took off though. I typically make it four days a week and at the age of 48 I have shed 25 pounds of body fat and have abs for the first time in my life. Every day people ask "What are you doing you look great?" and I am accomplishing things I never thought I could do - rope climbs, pullups, handstands. It feels great to be improving physically at an age when many simply get old. I would describe the atmosphere as professional and welcoming. It is not a singles club. There are lots of husbands and wives working together and lots of parents and kids doing the same, and at the same time there are some incredible athletes who are the first people to welcome you and provide coaching tips and encouragement. read more

I really enjoyed CrossFit Determination! The atmosphere is great and the coaches are super motivating and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this place!!! read more

Love this place. Coach Josh is great as well as the other coaches. They have helped my husbands transition from military to civilian life so much. He struggles from PTSD and was feeling lost in this civilian life after being in the Army 21 years. He is in the beat shape I've ever seen him and his mental/physical health is flourishing. This is a great box, VERY welcoming. I highly recommend coming here. read more

Life changing! I'll never forget my first time pulling up to try CrossFit. From Day 1 Josh and all of the instructors make you feel welcomed. It doesn't matter how out of shape or in shape you are, they encourage you to work at your own level and everyone is there with the same goal of getting better. The entire population of CrossFit Determination is absolutely awesome! So positive!!!!!!! read more

Dropped in at CFD while in town for a business trip. To find it just look for the open bay doors and the cars parked just outside by the fence. Josh is the owner and I reached out to him prior to the 530pm class to make sure I had room in the class. Overall the gym was great with a lot of open space, great WODs, and friendly members. If you are looking for a box to drop in while on business or vacation I would highly recommend CFD read more

Very friendly community and atmosphere. I dropped in and had an enjoyable time. Josh the owner was coaching. He was welcoming and ran a well structured class. I would revisit on my next time through town. read more

Been a gym member here since 2016! Coming from doing Crossfit out of my garage, I found I needed more motivation than just myself. I needed peers to help my pace, I needed a coach to encourage me when I felt like I couldn't do any more. I found that and so much more here. Josh and Stephani have created the ultimate family gym. My son can play in the kids room (he always gets excited to find out which friends are coming), and there is an unwritten "no douchebag" clause upon joining. Everyone is just so nice! They encourage each other, make you feel included, and I've formed lasting friendships because of that. If you are looking for a gym where the pressure is low, but the encouragement is high, this is the place. These people make me want to do better, but don't make me feel bad when I'm having an "off" day. This is an honest review, but if you don't believe me, try out another Crossfit Gym and you'll see a big difference. With Josh and Stephani it's about more than just a gym, it's a place to create friendships with good people, who want to be as fit as they can. read more

Determination is an amazing gym! The community really is great at reaching it and welcoming new people and making them feel comfortable. The coach and owner Josh does such a great job with the programming and all his coaches are incredibly helpful and patient. Josh is great at everything From making sure you understand the proper technique on lifts to making sure you are having fun during the working out. An incredible gym with incredible people, you won't be sorry you came here! read more

I got a recommendation to check out this CF location after my first gym had closed down. I am SO glad I listened and came here. Coaches and members alike were super welcoming. Equipment is great and pricing is very fair and reasonable. As far as the programming: top notch! I feel like coach Josh is super methodical in everything he programs. I have learned A LOT and improved form and skill as a result. All coaches are truly awesome. They make sure your form is on point but are really patient and are super encouraging too. I have been given queues and tips that have been total game changers and as a result I see my lifts improve big time. There is a spacious and clean kids room with toys and T.V. in case you need to bring your kiddos with you. There is Open Gym Sunday for a few hours which I love! The overall vibe is very friendly encouraging people who want to work hard. I love it here :-D read more
