Absolutely horrible! I told Brandon Walsh I need a home equity loan and please expedite after two weeks of giving him everything he asked for he totally disappeared for a week. Turned out he just went on vacation and didn't tell me. I called his supervisor CARLOS . He said I'm so sorry. I'll get on this two three-correspondence later He disappeared. From my experience, this company has bent over backwards to keep me in my home...even when I expectantly lost my job. I don't recall ever speaking to any one with the company that was rude or disrespectful. As it stands now, I really appreciate this company and everything that they have done for me. I had an absolutely awful, nightmare of an experience with Cross Country Mortgage (Doug Brown loan officer). It was similar to what Snehal said as well. This was a $100K loan on a $355K house - we were putting 255K down. The ridiculous amount of paperwork and documentation was stressful and way overkill. They requested so much documentation, at least 20x what I've ever had to provide for any other real estate loan in my life. Both of us buyers are self employed, so I'll allow for the fact that makes it more complicated and more documentation required. However.....they were constantly asking us for things, literally up until the DAY OF CLOSING. We are talking documentation to the extent of having us provide EVERY SINGLE INVOICE in our business, and documenting EACH one against our bank statements. I mean, onerous, complicated, stressful work that was completely unnecessary and which I've never been asked for on any real estate mortgage loan in my life (and I'm an investor as well so have done plenty). That's not the worst of it. Two things made this already stressful and ridiculously burdensome process worse. First of all, Doug and Sarah Brown asked for many of the things over and over. They would ask for a doc, we'd go in and upload it to the portal, then a few weeks later they'd ask for the same doc again. I don't know if they're inept or unorganized or what, probably both. They also asked for many things over and over that we told them, over and over, didn't even apply to us. (As an example - I had a piece of real estate that I sold months ago. Over and over they asked me to provide my lease and insurance for that property. Over and over I told them, I DON'T OWN THAT PROPERTY ANYMORE! Seriously, a 5 year old could get that.) Secondly, they started the underwriting process WAY too late and did not at all do what they were supposed to do in a timely manner. We made application in June and contracted on a house in September. So they had 3 months, but it wasn't until 2 weeks before closing that they began asking us for all this stuff. Then they turn it into underwriting (clearly with an incomplete package, it seemed as if they had NO IDEA how underwriting works or what they would need). Once it went to underwriting, Doug and Sarah came back to us multiple times every single day asking for more documents. Literally until the DAY OF CLOSING. They couldn't get it through underwriting - and the bottom line was they should have started that process LONG before they did. They had months to work with, and DAYS before closing they're still asking us for stuff? Sometimes when I would ask Doug about that, he'd say "I didn't know they would need that" or "The rules changed and I didn't know." Ummmm......like, isn't that your JOB? It's extremely concerning with the loan officer processing your loan doesn't even seem to know WHAT THE HELL is going on or what underwriting will need or in fact what the rules even are. Absolutely appalling and astounding. In the end, literally the day before closing we told Cross Country and Doug and Sarah Brown they were fired, and we went another route at the very last minute. We lost all faith they could get this done. Everyone involved in the process thought the same thing - my real estate agent, the seller's agent, the title company people - we were all absolutely astounded and appalled by how horrible Doug and Cross Country were. They kept assuring us, every time they asked for something new at the 11th hour, that "this will be the last thing, everything looks good, we'll have it through underwriting and approval today." EVERY time. Then, they'd come back with something else needed. Bottom line - these folks are completely inept and not knowledgeable at all about what they are doing. Worst process of my entire life. Like I seriously need therapy for it LOL. They have no clue what they're doing, they're disorganized, and they lie. I would advise anyone to stay as far away as possible from this lender. read more

Would not recommend Cori Keithley with Cross Country Mtg. She does not specialize in VA loans and ended up costing us with all of her mistakes. When I posted my review of her and her business on social media, she had it removed. This isn't surprising because she is deceptive in her practice. The day before we closed on our home, there were unexpected cost and we had to come up with $1500 to cover those. Then she had our home insurance payment sent to a company we did not have, while paying ANOTHER home insurance company! While you may read this review and think "unhappy customer", this happened in July 2017 and I want other consumers to be warned. We were finally able to refinance our home loan to another lender, and we will be filing a consumer complaint. read more

I recently went through a home purchase in Temple, TX and CrossCountry was the mortgage company. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a mortgage company. This was a new construction so the application was started almost 7 months back. A couple months ago they started getting active as we neared the construction completion. I sent all the information promptly since I am an investor and had other refinances in progress. Loan amount was very small compared to other loans I had recently refinanced which is what was the most frustrating. For a small loan they created so much fuss. To give you a sense, I had 10 times the loan amount in my brokerage account and net worth of probably 25 times the loan amount. Everything was done and they even assigned a notary to sign docs. A couple days before signing docs they said that some property I had recently bought was missing and needed info. I sent closing docs, rental contract, insurance etc. This property was cashflowing since rent was way over monthly liability even if we took just 70% rent. Underwriters typically take 75% rent so we were good. Two days later they called with additional questions stating that this new property increased my debt to income ratio. Apparently, they had not looked at the rental income lease doc.They started asking for bank statements to prove that I had paid 2020 taxes. I sent that and now they wanted justification for some deposits into the account dated Sept 2020. This was getting beyond ridiculous so I spoke with Sheri the mortgage person and let her know that I was very upset with this process and that they should have done their homework way in advance. I was getting calls from the builder due to the delay in closing which was added stress. Apparently, without my knowledge, Sheri put me on speakerphone and her boss Jaime who was OBNOXIOUS came on and started yelling at me and said I should just take my business elsewhere. Without knowing any background he started shouting on the phone at a customer. This is how they deal with customers. Would urge everyone to stay away from CrossCountry Mortgage. They are the worst and don't know how to do business. Sloppy in their work and blame the customer. I have other friends investing in the area and have informed all of them to stay away from this obnoxious company. read more

Our realtor recommended the Steven Steakly group at Supreme Lending when we went to buy our new home. I'm so happy we followed her advice - everything went perfectly smooth! We found our home only 1 day after it went up for listing and Jana worked on Memorial Day to get us our preapproval so we could put in an offer. Executed contract on 1/31/2017, processor did not receive paperwork until 2/16/2017, which caused the sellers to extend twice. It is now in the 45th day and a Friday and the property has not closed.
