Beth and the whole team at Cornerstone Home Lending were truly exceptional and I can't recommend them highly enough for home finance.

She quickly reached out, got me preapproved right away and was incredibly responsive to all my questions throughout the process. We placed our offer on November 22 and closed on December 19. The team was able to get my loan approved and closed in under 27 calendar days, which included weekends and the Thanksgiving holiday so really around 17 business days when you think about it! These guys definitely have their process down. That said, the origination charges (processing/underwriting) were higher than some of the other lenders and when I requested a reduction in these charges, they didn't budge and instead referenced the points buy down, which, while in the origination category, is a seperate line item than the processing/underwriting line items. A younger version of me would have pushed harder on this to save a few hundred bucks, but I chose not to but definitely getting a mention in the review though so... *shrugs* Overall though, I would definitely recommend them, and especially Amanda, due to her expertise, communication, and efficiency.

I was dealing with a difficult situation and had to get a new lender in place in a short period of time. Todd and Tamri knocked it out of the park, and helped me keep my close date. They did it at light speed and got it done in 8 days! Things you'll learn working with them: - Local Austin lender so they have the contacts to get your appraisal done FAST. My rush one was done in 4 days. - Incredibly organized with very fast processes. - You will have the same point of contacts the whole way through, so everyone is always on the same page managing your file. - You don't have to keep sending the same files or information again and again to a loan officer. - I had a lot of questions, and they were able to get back to me very quickly with answers to all my questions. - They were able to secure a great rate, plus offered a lender credit. - They're really nice people and genuinely want to help you out. If you need to jump ship with a new lender or want your offer to stand out against the other 20 bids with a strong local lender, I highly recommend reaching out to Todd.

With a shorter than usual closing window (approx 23 days after acceptance) Todd Curio and his team made it happen. They're incredibly knowledgeable and won't steer you wrong. I even got a lower rate, put less money down than I had originally expected, and I felt comfortable through the entire process. For someone who gets anxious when it comes to large sums of money leaving my hands, that's saying a lot!!! I was initially shopping the market and started with another lender in the area. The lender didn't have his facts right about certain loans products - specifically, whether I would qualify for the loan and the minimum down payment required. Um... that's pretty damn important. Todd at Capstar had his facts straight from the beginning, knew exactly what kind of loan would best suit my needs, and how best to secure financing for my particular situation (owner-occupied, multi-family) without any hiccups. I can't stress enough to new home buyers how important that is - no hiccups, no surprises. Remember, this should be the dull part of home buying, facts and numbers based and very objective. And that's exactly what it was - the exciting part was learning that I didn't need to put as much down to qualify for the loan! If y'all want a smooth transaction with low stress, and no surprises, go with these guys! Seriously.

Mark knows the ins and outs of homebuying, even in this complex scenario, and was able to answer our questions and provide all our options clearly. I've bought and sold a couple of homes now, and this was the smoothest mortgage transaction of them all. No It was during one of my initial conversations with Mark that I expressed how important it was to me that my loan was serviced with a reputable provider and that I worried about it getting sold and causing me issues down the line.  I had done my previous mortgage loan through Wells Fargo and since it was a large bank they managed my mortgage loan and it was really smooth. Unfortunately, I had heard horror stories from friends and coworkers who didn't go through large banks and had their loans sold only to experience issues down the line. Mark assured me that mortgage loans almost always were sold and that it wouldn't cause issues for me. He was 100% wrong. My loan was sold shortly after we purchased the home and Mark or someone from his team wrote down our address incorrectly on the paper work. This caused our mortage paperwork to be mailed to our neighbor. I almost missed my first mortgage payment because the information on how to pay was only included in the mail that had been incorrectly sent to my neighbor. I had to spend several hours on hold to track down what had happened to my paperwork and retrieve my account number. I thought I had it all corrected and now yearly a year later I had to spend 10 hours on the phone with the mortgage provider becuase they incorrectly dispersed my property taxes to the wrong account because of that initial paperwork that was incorrectly filled out during the loan transfer. We made it clear with Mark, we did NOT want to deal with our loan being sold to a horrible loan service provider. Lo and behold, it was, and it's caused us a lot of pain. With so many lending people to work with, I would not recommend Mark. Find someone else.
