Really good food served efficiently & quickly in a friendly, comfortable & classy neighborhood atmosphere. The rotisserie fire is the signature feature of both the menu and the kitchen! The aromas as you enter the doors whet your appetite and the tastes do not disappoint. I had the fresh fish special, which was a grilled & torched sea bass. Reliable, quality neighborhood restaurant with a lovely outdoor patio and something for everyone. We've been coming to Crosby's since we moved to Chicago in 2017. The food has always been very good, and the servers all extremely friendly. It's the kind of place where you know what to expect every time you go - the menu rarely changes, nor does the decor, but there's always a dish or two you crave that is made extremely well each time. Even though I rarely eat meat these days, I continue to come back for their turkey burger. It is very well seasoned, and topped with an excellent asian slaw that adds quite a bit of texture and depth of flavor to the dish. The bun is equally tasty, and stands up impressively well to the large patty. We've also been fans of their veggie burger, a well-made quinoa patty with tons of flavor and crunch. It does tend to fall apart, but it's a great play on something often overlooked. You also can't go wrong with their sides, from the delicious mashed potatoes, to fresh veggies and a new mac and cheese. While they do have a glass of wine or two I enjoy, what falls short for me is their drink selection and cocktails. They're fine, but nothing too special. I will also say that despite trying it several times, the spinach and artichoke dip leaves little to be desired, very little seasoning and chips that border on stale. But, we each have our dishes we crave, and continue to love, all these years later. I'd love to see them try some new dishes on the menu, but when your restaurant is packed every day of the week, I guess you stick with what works! read more

My husband and I ate here a couple of nights ago and it was crowded so one would expect the food to be amazing. We had the lobster deviled eggs, which were good. The pork chop he ordered came with sauerkraut that can be best described as vinegar soaked coleslaw. He enjoyed the pork chop but the rest of items on the plate were not edible. I ordered the roasted chicken since it was their specialty as the waitress described it. It was beyond dry and was lacking in any flavor. I would not recommend this place. Also there is a 3.5% fee added that doesn't go to the waitstaff, it's an administrative fee. It's tacky to see that on a menu and they should just raise the prices on the items instead of putting that on their menus. read more

Came this morning for brunch/lunch with my best friend and her son. The place itself is nice and cozy and located at the corner amidst a shopping area on Southport. Staff wears masks since it is winter and who knows what's around. We were seated in a booth where the kitchen and bar were visible. It was bustling since it was prime time for brunch. We walked in without reservations on a lovely Saturday afternoon, we were told wait would be 45 minutes, but we were called back after waiting for about 20 minutes, not bad at all, esp considering how nice the weather was that day and how many ppl were out and about and dining here. Service is great, everyone is friendly and helpful. The food is good, i usually always get the lobsta deviled eggs and a wrightwood salad. The spinny dip is always good too. I would come back just for the sandwich. The meat was tender and so flavorful, and the bread was perfect. The fresh horseradish sauce was a perfect kick. It was amazing. For entres: Mahi Mahi Sandwich, Prime Rib Skillet and Chicken Salad. All delicious, filling and fresh. For dessert, we grabbed one of each items on Restaurant Week: carrot cake and peanut butter pie. We couldn't decide which was better. Both good, carrot cake was so warm but maybe a tat too sweet. If carrot cake was paired with a side of vanilla ice cream. Woozer. All in all great place. My husband ordered the mahi magi sandwich. He said it was fishy tasting and wouldn't get it again. He should have gotten the veggie burger that he had last time. He loves the fries- shoestring. Went to Crosby Kitchen on Southport for Sunday night dinner. It's your typical cookie cutter American dining that's more affordable and casual than a steakhouse, but offers similar vibes. I got the Rotisserie chicken and like it was moist and good, but so is a Costco rotisserie chicken for $4.99 and this one was $19. I didn't try the salmon, but It was described as salty, undercooked, but still deserves a 7 because it beats Aldi salmon. The vibes were good, nice dim lighting but not too dark and the waitstaff was really nice. The waiter was good about asking if there were any food restrictions right away. However, at this point shouldn't all restaurants that are owned by a restaurant group have GF, VG, etc whatever already listed on the menu? I've been here twice now and not sure how I haven't written a review yet. I've loved the food and service both times I dined at Crosby's! Yesterday (Sunday) we stopped by for brunch at 12pm. I suggest making a reservation as brunch gets pretty busy. I was seated right away! Our server - Blake - was a real gem! He was so friendly, gave helpful suggestions, and accommodated all of our requests. He also brought me out a candle and some ice cream to celebrate my birthday. We absolutely LOVED him and would come back for him alone! The food is always great! I was debating between the hash and biscuits and gravy, and settled on biscuits and gravy. Blake explained that the biscuits and gravy had the most protein and was the most filling, which I was concerned about. The gravy was so flavorful; I was pleasantly surprised as good biscuits and gravy can be hard to find. There were also big, plentiful chunks of sausage in the gravy. The biscuit was nice and added a flakey, buttery layer to the whole thing. 10/10 would recommend! Honestly Crosby's is one of my favorite places in Southport corridor to dine at.
