I saw my car in transit a few weeks ago and asked about it online. From that moment until delivery, Patrick communicated constantly with status updates and got all of my paperwork in order. It was the shortest amount of time I have ever spent in a finance manager's office. This is a small family business and I wish they all could run like this. I kept waiting for something to be slipped in on the finance paperwork. Some VIN etching they already did. Some underbody rust coating. Some extended warranty I don't need. All of the usual dealer tricks. It never happened. I paid the exact amount they quoted from in the very beginning. Don't go here. Took in my Malibu for a PCV orifice valve and they quoted me $2000 dollars for a $10 piece and seals total cost about $80. They said it takes 6 hours when it actually takes less than 2. I told them no and asked for a transmission flush. I waited for their car fax entry and it never showed a transmission filter change, I asked them and they said they thought it was just a drain and fill ‍. First of all drain and fill isn't a flush and second of all yes my car has a transmission filter . They said give us 1-2 days since they had to order the part, two weeks later I still haven't heard from them. I'll do the work myself . Don't take your car to dealerships . read more

I am currently driving my fourth Equinox, all of which were purchased and serviced with exceptional customer service at Hirlinger Chevrolet. My experience with Cronin has not compared. Unfortunately my last three service experiences with Cronin have been poor. On the first occasion, the cap was left off of my coolant reservoir , sitting off to the side under the hood, causing it to drain completely dry and the car overheating to the point of needing towed. On the second occasion, the computer was not reset, causing the vehicle to warn me that the oil needed immediate service, in turn causing me to have to return to the dealership 2000 miles into a new oil change. Lastly, 2 hours after this most recent oil change and tire rotation, my vehicle displayed the message " service tire monitoring system". I found this very ironic, suspicious even, that I would encounter a tire problem immediately following service. From what I understand, these batteries are good for 5-10 years. My car is 3 years old with 39,000 miles on it. Not to mention, I had already experienced service issues with my 2 previous encounters. I was told this could be $180. In the meantime, I also learned that these sensors can be damaged during service. Again, I spent an additional day, 3 hours of my time, returning to the dealership. The service department reached out to GM, who it seems would cover some of the cost, leaving me a balance of $48.00. I explained my longtime loyalty to the dealership, purchases and service. I explained my past poor service experiences. I stated that if I was forced to pay for this mistake, that I would not return. Well, that is exactly what happened. It seems that Cronin was more concerned about the $48.00 than they were about my future relationship with them. I am absolutely dissatisfied with the service here, which means I will never make a vehicle purchase. There is a family Chevrolet dealership 14 miles down the road; that is where I will take my business. read more

Very disappointed. POOR communication. Charged a CC fee, but had they shared that information when I scheduled the appointment, I would have brought a check. Never returned a call for a quote for tires and acted like "oh well, we don't care" when we went to the oil change. Car wash was not working. Not even confident they did change the oil/service the vehicle. One person working - and he was sent over from the Ford dealership. Certainly not the experience I would have had with Hirlinger. Very sorry they are no longer the owners. I'm looking for a new vehicle, it won't be from them. read more

If you are a person in charge of an area and customer comes back after getting and oil change and tires rotated because they have a question about the tire sensors not working, you don't say to them " that's just how it is" and walk away. Let me start by saying, stay the hell away. Custom service is awful. Our vehicle was there for 4 days before anyone even reached out to us. From that point on, we had to reach out to them. Don't try calling, as they don't answer the phone nor do they return voicemail messages. They have the shuttle driver test drive your car to determine what is wrong. What good is that if they aren't capable of fixing the car. I understand Cronin just took over the dealership, but this is no way to run a business. The service department was so ill prepared!!! Shame on Cronin Auto Group for opening for business when they were not ready. They would have been better off closing for a few days to make sure all employees knew what the heck they were doing. read more

Bought my daughters used car from them and the life time warranty, About 6 months in the radio goes out, they sent us to Toyota dealer, brand new radio installed, now 2 years later air conditioning pump goes out, they are installing a brand new one and all it cost is the $50 dollar deductible. I can't say enough about Dewayne the guy who is taking care of this and all the others who work hard to make sure her car is kept in tip top shape. They change the oil ($60) or there about and while they do that they rotate tires, check all fluids, and run it threw the car wash and advise us on anything needed . And her payment is $300 a month. I swore years ago I would never buy another car at a dealer if I couldn't pay cash I didn't need it but here I am and they have sold me. Been a blessing and she is safe ! read more

I purchased my car from Hirlinger's used car lot in 2014. From that interaction on, I have had nothing but phenomenal service from Hirlinger! I've worked with multiple service workers throughout the years to get my car fixed (2012 Sonic LT with Turbo) across different car repair shops. My car is notorious for needing a new thermostat and water pump every other year. Other major repairs have included replacing the radiator in 2018. I previously had been taking my car to my local Car-X for service and oil changes; however, the parts kept failing. I would be in the shop every few months for a check engine light because of something related to the thermostat. And 90% of the time, the worker's couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car. Because of that, I started making the 30 minute drive out to Hirlinger exclusively for repairs and oil changes in 2019 and will continue going there moving forward. Every staff member that I've interacted with has been amazing. Their service is something that I can count on and know that my car will be repaired. The workers at this dealership are the most friendly I have ever met at ANY car dealership. I highly recommend!! read more

Bought a 2015 Equinox last April along with the "forever" warranty on the drive train. We'll that "forever" warranty doesn't cover a damn thing. Have had not one phone call back about taking care of that costly warranty I pay for to be canceled. Sorry I thought I was buying a certified Chevy but instead a piece of crap that is yet again broke down in my driveway and no I will not return there so they can try to take me for another dollar. Do your homework when buying from them. No one has kept their work yet. read more

Nothing but issues for the past 3 months! When I first bought my car 5 years ago and brought it in for maintenance or repairs everything was great. The past 3 months, not so much. I bought a used car that came with a lifetime powertrain warranty and now the dealership is denying warranty claims and not wanting to honor the agreement. My vehicle has had two timing chains put on, 4 new cylinders, both cv axle, oil pan, and much more. 3 months ago my car was wobbling really bad, especially during highway driving which is a majority of the driving I do. They replaced the left axle and said everything was fine and its was ok for me to take on an 8 hour round trip. As soon as I left for that trip I noticed the car was still wobbling. When I got back and brought the car back to them, I was told the axle they replaced must have been a defective part. The dealership put another left axle on and sent me on my way again. Shocker, the problem was still there. I had to take the vehicle back again and they finally realized the right axle was bad too. That should have been checked when they changed the left one the first time but it wasn't. On top of that the ball joints, tie rod ends, and control arm bushings were bad which was never mentioned to me but should have also been checked when I stated my car was wobbling as all of these parts can contribute to the problem. I found out myself that these parts were bad when the car was put up on a lift at my cousins and I could visually see tears in the ball joint boots. The control arm bushings were also starting to dry rot and decay. These parts were replaced by me but there are still more issues. The car was brought back to the dealership again because it was leaking oil and transmission fluid. The dealership said it was the oil pan so they replaced the pan and put a new timing chain on. A couple days later I checked the oil and there wasn't a drop of oil in the car and I was told that the mechanic forgot to add oil back after replacing the oil pan. I brought the car back and they put more oil back in the car. I got home and oil was still leaking from the vehicle so once again I brought the car back. I was told that the rear main seal and the left axle seal were causing the leaks and I felt at ease because those parts are covered under the warranty forever. The dealership had my car for a week and a half and gave it back to me with the leaks still present and told me they weren't going to cover it under the warranty because they think there will be a bigger problem in the future. I'm no mechanic but any leak is not a good leak and should have been fixed immediately to prevent further damage to the engine or transmission. I took the car back to dealership again and had to pay to replace the left axle seal even though it was covered under the warranty because the dealership didnt want to cover it. The vehicle still has a bad rear main seal and I do not feel okay paying close to $1000 to fix something that is clearly covered under warranty. Upon inspecting the vehicle myself, I noticed that not only was the oil leaking from the rear main seal, it is leaking from somewhere near the oil filter. I took my car back in and they replaced the o ring on the filter and once again sent me on my way. I got home and checked the car and to no surprise, it's STILL leaking oil near the filter. This wasn't checked properly by the mechanic who did the job and the issue still exists. In total these issues have been going on for almost 4 months now with no resolution because thorough checks were not done by people I thought I could trust to do the job. I have 2 kids that I constantly have to run around for, the last thing I need is to be broken down on the side of the highway with a blown motor and my kids in the car. The car will be going back to the dealership again today and hopefully they can honor the legally binding contract (warranty) that I signed and do the job correctly. This has been the worst customer service/car experience I have ever had in my life and quite frankly they have put me in very unsafe positions by not doing their jobs correctly. I hope they can fix these issues and we can get back on solid ground because I'm at my breaking point. read more

Disappointed with my first experience with this dealership. With all the positive reviews I'm shocked to even have to type this up about the business. Shop there if you like, but how you treat people, and how honest they are is more important than a warranty you will have to hope the dealership will uphold if a problem arises. Darren, who is mentioned a lot in these reviews, flat out lied to us about a truck. We live an hour away. Saw a truck we liked online, so we called at 300 pm just before leaving to look at it. Darren confirmed it was available. By 430 when we arrive he told us it just sold 20 mins ago. I later talked to the manager about my issue with Darren, and he told me the truck sold in the morning. I was completely turned off by this. It really felt like Darren intentionally had us drive down only to show us a more expensive truck. He really acted like he could care less if we were there. The manager said he would talk with Darren about what happened, but he was really just listening to my complaint. He didn't offer any solutions. I don't think that anything will change. This business will continue to be unappreciative of their potential customers. I'm really just tired of how people in this world treat others with zero respect and think it's ok. read more

in the last week I bought a new 2017 Malibu from Hirlinger a few months back. I am now in my fourth rental. The first one was because they sent it out to have a remote start put on my car, it was part of the deal when i bought the car. Then two weeks after getting it back the check engine light came on, the car ran rough, and it was turning itself off. It went back to the shop for a week. They sent my car back with tool marks on the whole too half of the engine. Customer service was ok, but not very sympathetic. A few weeks later it ass dying again and power steering was acting up. Got it back send it was still doing it. I posted a video of it dying online. They offered to switch the remote start. Still less than sympathetic. They have offered nothing for all the trouble of going back and forth. They just keep giving me a run around. General manager said nothing. I'm extremely disappointed. I went from s second time buyer from them to a hurt send upset customer that won't go there again. read more

Engine light went on in my diesel truck. I was taken in promptly and within a few hours the truck was fixed under warranty.

Communication was terrible, and the customer service was even worse. Ray Perin showed me a car, ignored my messages, and after I had given him 5 calendar days (3 of those were non-holiday weekdays), I was told that he sold it out from under me. They did verify however, that he had gotten the message - just never bothered to read it or respond. I spoke with management and the owner, and neither offered any way to fix the situation. I would not trust these people with a significant amount of money. read more

My fiancé purchased a truck from the used car lot a couple of month ago. Before the first oil change the check engine light came on, the abs light came on, the clutch goes all the way to the floor occasionally while driving it, the pull on the bed of the truck stopped working and he ordered the part online and fixed it himself. The biggest problem I have is that I sent an email and let them know of these issues, that was never responded to. A few weeks later I sent a message directly to the sales department and someone named Brandi contacted me right away saying she would love to help me. I explained to her that I work in customer service and I wanted to contact someone before getting upset and writing any reviews. She took my information and said she would pass it on to someone. She called me back and said she had done that and if I didn't hear back to let her know. No one ever called, cared that we were new customers or that our vehicle is not working properly. When it was in for the first oil change they told us it needs $1100 worth of work. The service department explained that those items had been checked but we put on a "quick 5000" miles and things happen. I think that had someone really cared about it being the first time we purchased from this company, they would have returned the call. To me that is poor customer service. Customer service isn't always about being able to fix the issue at hand, it is about caring enough to try and showing that you mean something as a customer. The truck is still unfixed and when I contacted Brandi to let her know no one contacted me, she didn't either. I would recommend going somewhere your purchase means something. It's not my first vehicle, so I know how other places treat you. read more
