I retained Critter Stop to remove a rat from my attic and as part of the process, to remove the existing insulation, make any needed repairs, and install new insulation. The services are not cheap. There was a significant delay in them scheduling the attic restoration piece because they said they did not have adequate trailers. They scheduled 2 days for the entire attic restoration and were unable to complete the work in the 2 days they allotted (May 13-14). They said they could not return to complete the work until June 1, meaning I had to cool my house with no insulation in my attic for nearly 3 weeks. As I write this review, it is 10:00am on June 1 and no one has arrived to complete the work, nor has anyone from Critter Stop contacted me to let me know whether they intend to complete the job or to show up as promised today, nor have they responded to my attempts to contact them. I had to take off from work at an inconvenient time to be home for this, and they apparently can't be bothered to communicate with a customer who is spending more than $10,000 for their services. read more

They have been unprofessional and impossible to work with. They send new techs every time and each one blames the other and doesn't do their job. The only animals ever caught were by my husband, and without even speaking with us they decided to stop service on an ongoing issue. They are rude, deceptive, and unable to remove critters. With my business travel schedule I just didn't have time to try and catch them and don't have the carpentry skills to keep them out. I recently moved into a new construction home and was concerned after I saw something on my wall that appeared to be mice droppings in my garage, because that is what my plumber said it was. Chisom was my service technician and could have easily told me that there were rodents in my home and charged me a hefty fee and I would have gladly paid it. However, instead Chisom informed me that I had a lizard (or two) going in and out of my garage (which are harmless) which he could easily determine by the physical attributes of the droppings left behind. Chisom also checked my attic and assured me that the lizard wasn't in there. Lizards are harmless and do not cause damages to homes. Critter stop is an awesome company! Critter Stop damaged my electrical systems during their scope of removing and replacing my attic insulation, which caused me an additional $1,600 to fix with an electrician. Although the damage was obvious, Critter Stop emphatically denied responsibility for cause and compensation. To make matters worse, they did not remove all the rats, and I now have another rat infestation just months after their work was performed even though my house is very well excluded/sealed off. A true rodent control company would not recommend reinstalling fiberglass insulation, which is what they recommended and installed. In short, Critter Stop is your most expensive option for a cheap roof insulation replacement. Don't let the company name fool you like it did me - they are not rodent/pest experts. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere for any job. read more

At that point they would politely decline an appointment instead of wasting my time going through the house, attic, garage and yard only to have their representative tell me that I should call another company since he would have a really hard time getting his guys to agree to go under the house. I had service costing me over $2600 done by this company in June 2022.  The initial experience was good.  However, in the end of September I called them because I have something new crawling around in my house.  They text me the next day saying that they would get back to me when they figured out the schedule for the week.  I had to call several times before they gave me a date of Oct 12th to come out.  I had to take off of work early to be able to meet them for this scheduled appointment.  They did not show, nor call.  When I called an hour after they were supposed to show, the guy that I spoke with on the phone simply told me that the technician called in sick that day and basically I was forgotten about.  The owner did call me after, apologized and said that they could send someone out Friday Oct 14th at 4.  I agreed.  The technician, to his credit, text me that day saying he was running behind and would not be there until after 6pm.  He did show up for approximately an hour, did some work, but said he would be back Tues Oct 18 to finish at 4pm.  Once again, no show.  I text him approx at 4:30 to see if he was still coming.  At 5:30 I got a text back saying no and that he had let the office know, and they would try to fit me in sometime this week.  I am disgusted with this company.  I am a single home owner who cannot simply leave work now 3 times for them not to show up or be extremely late to their scheduled appointments.   They are supposed to have a 3 year guarantee on their work and am really wondering if they give a crap about "their customers" after they collect their money.  I would hate to think that because I am a single female home owner that they are taking advantage of me, or treating me like this, because they think they can.  I have yet to hear from anyone today about any future appointments.  Meanwhile, repairs are still required and I am still having a rodent issue, almost a month into contacting them.  I would really think twice about going with this company.  The customer service is unacceptable and clearly their workmanship is lacking, as I am having a problem 4 months after their initial repairs.  Hopefully this review will help someone else in their decision. read more
