Based on Internet reviews here and elsewhere and a thorough phone conversation I had with a lady…read morenamed Jan, I felt that if this company had the availability, I would've used their services. I needed pest control services to handle the removal of 3 - 6 squirrels which were eating their way into an apartment building. Jan explained that during these colder seasons animals would do anything to stay warm, including eating their way into a warmer area. All these services do it the same way as far as charging; estimate is $135. Once they figure out their course of action, removal of each animal is flat $40. Once an estimate is taken and they find the entry areas, they set-up traps. On the entries they also set-up alert devices which indicate to them if the entry is in use by the vermin. Till the pests are caught, they will send someone out to check the traps daily. (Some services will allow you to check their traps, if you want to dispose of the animals yourself; some find this as a cheaper option.) They only work on weekdays, so alert devices and traps are reset on Friday's and Monday's. If repair service or closing of an entry way (i.e. roof, walls, exhaust fan) is needed they can do the patch work or give you instructions so that you can hire someone else to accomplish. Amongst about six places I called today, Jan was the most customer service friendly and able to explain the procedures and possible costs, completely. Once she was done I was ready to sign up for service. But, she was terribly busy and her first opening was too long away for me to wait for. I'm definitely going to call them in the future.

Fair enough. When they arrived, they opened the dryer vent cover and one bird flew out. They removed some debris and put on a plastic covering to prevent future entry of birds. After about 10 mins to complete the job, the final charge was an additional whopping $798 ($299 for bird removal and $499 to install two covers). They took off the $90 inspection fee. And after negotiating the final charge was $579. Definitely overpriced compared to competitors. Other quotes from my neighbors were $300 -400.

As a multi-step process regarding animal control, it takes some patience and obviously funds to…read morecover the extended services. My city house has a multitude of squirrels, constantly on rooftops, fences, trees and power lines in the alley. They frolic around and can been throughout the day as common pets. My attic had a squirrel that found its way through a recognizable opening at the eave between two roofs and had been there for several months on and off. Upon calling ABC Wildlife, the staff was quite helpful and scheduled someone for an inspection within a couple of days. Upon arrival, the field inspector was very accommodating, cordial, professional, knowledgeable of the situation and understood the remediation. However, when he proposed to locate a trap at the front of my house (50' away) from the attic opening source at the back of the house, I was confused. Remember, this neighborhood is FULL of squirrel and why so far, without the intent of amassing a "den" of those buggers at my property. The $185 inspection & trap setup seemed high but the $115 Indicator/temp cardboard closure was reasonably priced. Although the $450 temp patch repair w/wire mesh could certainly have been less. So now at $750, a hard decision was needed which revolved around the permanent fix. ABC quoted $2,900 and would credit the $450 temp done. It took my very persuasive partner to convince me to proceed and just get it done instead of having someone else manage this work which surely would be much less. Biting the bullet, ABC Wildlife two man crew, spent 7.5hrs at that roof eave to properly close the opening with siding and well anchored. After the fact, now the work is completed and $3,200 later, I hope never to deal with a similar problem ever again. ABC Wildlife are meticulous, detailed in their inspection reporting and provide a very comprehensive photographic assessment prior to completion. The work was thorough and professional, and while expensive, ABC Wildlife is recommended for homeowners who are financially prepared and willing to engage "critically" but constructively in the process.

Every time they come over to check the cage or change the bait, they charged me over a $100. Over a month and they never caught the racoon!! Addtionally, they nailed cages, ropes and teathers for safety equipment to my roof and ruined shingles on my roof by putting all these nail holes in it. After the 5th time coing over to check the empty cage aor change the bait and charge me over another $100, i said enough with scams!! I called another guy at 1/3 the price catch it right away first time with can of catfood and check the attic also. Biggest scam and worse service ever!! Avoid at all costs if you have a house with a raccoon in it. They must be buying reviews cause theres no way there getting that many 5 stars with a scamming service!
