Fast and dependable. My ac stopped working. Found Critical Air on the neighborhood page. Gave them a call and they arrived at the time they gave me. Gave me a quote, I accepted and they went to work after getting the permit approved. I needed 17 ducts replaced, the evaporator coil and ac unit. All was done between 9:00am and 9:45pm. The difference was amazing. My upstairs along with the rest of the house is now cooling like it should. Mark was first class. After job completion, he walked me through everything to assure the unit was working. He also returned to help me setup my remote thermostat and get it connected to my phone. Adulting is hard but it helps to have people like the team of Critical Air on your side. Went upstairs and noticed that the temperature was a bit warm. Checked the thermostat and it showed that it was 81 when it should have been 74. Called in the morning and had someone come on Monday afternoon. Major new equipment needed. This post will echo some of what others have mentioned, so there seems to be a potential pattern going on. This is the second time we've opted to go with Critical Air - and they repeat the same behaviors, so at this point I felt compelled to mention it. I will say that the technicians that come out are knowledgable and get the work done, but that experience is overshadowed by their poor custom service that is facilitated by Martin. On both occasions we've used them, they would quote us one time frame, and after that time was exceeded we would (understandably and rightfully) inquire about an update on their ETA. The first time we did this with them a month ago, Martin was pretty rude and basically gave us an ultimatum in a condescending way. Today was really no exception - he repeated the same level of service after telling us his technicians would be by sometime after 12PM. It's now 2:10PM and we called and he just now told us it will be around 4PM. I won't be holding my breath come 4PM. He should have reached out to let us know of the revised time a we do not appreciate wasting our day since we planned around them coming around 12PM and being here for a couple of hours based on the time he said it would take them to complete the job. I get that time tables can change, but that should be proactively communicated to the customer. And just like last time, when we expressed slight disbelief on the revised ETA, he gave us an ultimatum as if we should be grateful to breathe the same air he does. We probably won't be a returning customer after this experience. There are plenty of other AC companies around, they were the ones we happened to call first since we used them the last time and were trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Martin is prompt, professional, and truly backs his work. He came highly recommended by neighbors. We had a tight deadline to replace our HVAC system prior to our house going under contract. Earlier today, Martin Beres (owner of Critical Air) came to our home to look at some work and provide a quote for the work. Upon his arrival, my wife took our children (3 years old and 11 months old) to her car to wait in there while Martin was in our home so we can be careful with COVID social distancing and reduce exposure risk to our children whom have not yet been vaccinated. I met Martin at the front door and noticed he was not wearing a mask. I asked him if he had a mask to put on while in our home. He said "ok one second", stepped away for a moment and immediately turned around saying "I will come back once all this is over, I am vaccinated, I have had COVID, I do not want to wear a mask, I am done wearing masks." I said "ok" and closed the door. I went around the back of the house, down the driveway, towards the front to go tell me wife and children they can come back inside. Her car was in the front driveway. Martin walked back to his vehicle on the street then turned around and addressed my wife. My wife did not say a word to him, he just started snapping at her (while holding our children) in a very loud aggressive tone and manner saying "I am done with masks!! I'm not wearing one anymore!! I'm done with it!! DO YOU LIVE HERE!?!...I will not wear a mask anymore! I'll just come back this fall!" It was extremely uncalled for and out of line. It's bad enough to get that way with anyone but to get that way with a woman with two small children with her, who isn't even speaking to you, and who he had no reason to even address is something that is not only extremely out of line but shows how out of control he is and is damaging in a lot of ways. My children were scared to the point where they clutched to my my wife for safety. Also, we have used Critical Air in the past during the pandemic. Their employees have worn masks in our home so it has not been a problem before. To set up those past visits, we even spoke to Martin directly about our needs in our home so he was aware. Finally, if you own a business AND you are coming into someone's home, you need to respect what they want/need in their home. If you don't agree with what they want/need, you need to be polite and professional about it. This was the opposite for Martin. I certainly hope he was just having a bad day and this wasn't a reflection on him or his company, BUT, I have read other reviews where he is gotten aggressive with other customers. This is a pattern, please do not use Critical Air. read more

We used Critical Air by recommendation. I did a little bit of research before I call. I thought that's weird everybody gives 5 stars. It's be couple years since we purchase our AC from Mr. Martin. And it's true that he deserved for 5 stars. His service is very good and professional . They helped us fix the pipe on the roof before the storm and they redo the foam wrapping for the wire for free. I highly recommend Critical Air. Martin was available the same day I called him and was able to figure out that my coil was leaking, which caused my house to not cool down. I called another AC company as recommended to me on NextDoor, before calling Martin and what a mistake! The other company charged a ridiculous amount to come and take a look and acted like he was giving me a discount. Martin not only fixed my coil, he also replaced the entire AC unit at my parents house. Him and his workers were friendly, efficient, very knowledgeable and did a great job on both houses. In addition, my parents were having heating issues in the other unit in their house and Martin came over, identified the issue and fixed it at no cost. Yes, that's right! No cost. I'm not sure what happened to the previous post earlier in the year but the feeling this guy gave me when talking to him about simply scheduling a service call gives me the validation to repost my thoughts. He tried to belittle me and that will never happen. Customer Service is part of the product, and this guy evidently lost focus in this area. Dont believe the hype, this guy is purging the bad reviews somehow. Earlier this year, this guys ratings were piss poor and rightfully so. I had a problem with my upstairs unit thermostat and called him quite late, not expecting him to show up that evening. But...he did! Worked for a couple of hours and didn't have what he needed. Promised to come back the next morning, which he did. Lots of troubleshooting and thought he had to replace a control board. He could have very easily done so and charged me hundreds. However, he said he found a power supply connection that was bad (after all that diagnostics time) and only charge me $75 for that work. Honest, prompt and good service! read more

Absolutely the best!Martin was referred to me when my AC went out in 2012.I had called a big name company&anAC tech quoted $25k.I wanted a 2nd opinion.It turned out to be a $135 fix.My husband was away on a fishing trip,& when this AC tech learned that, & pressured me to purchase ASAP. He said that was the best price but in 24 hours it would cost more.Martin came to offer a 2nd opinion the same day.He was honest AND professional,& that was more appreciated that he could have ever known. I have used Martin for years now, 10+. He has never tried to cheat or lied to us. When our upstairs unit went out my husband wanted to replace the downstairs as well. Martin had to "convince" my husband that it wasn't necessary. Six years later that unit finally went out!!! I wouldn't trust our air conditioning to any one else, ever. read more
