Of course my AC goes out the night before a holiday weekend! I decided to go ahead and call anyway, even though it was 9pm the night before an observed holiday. I was expecting to leave a voicemail so that someone could respond first thing in the morning. I was shocked to get a live person! The lady I spoke with was so kind and understanding. She let me know that the service call would cost a little more because it was a holiday... which I fully expected. The next morning, the gentleman came to service my AC. He was totally professional. Wore a mask. Kept his distance. He asked me who in my household works at the hospital (because i have a healthcare hero sign in my yard) and I told him it was me. He was very kind in thanking me for what we do. He did everything he could to get my AC running so that my family and I didn't have to suffer through a 3 day weekend with no AC. I have actually used Sun Air for years. They have always been kind, professional and respectful of time and money. Their prices and their service is far superior to other companies I've tried to work with in the past. As a matter of fact, the first time I used this company, they came in to fix the expensive mistake of another company. Then didn't over charge me then either. A friend recommended Sun AC to us and we are so happy we listened. I can't tell you how great these guys are to work with. Our house, built in 1975, originally had one 5-ton unit for a decent-sized two-story house. We were contemplating adding a second unit when the old one died. We interviewed several companies, most of whom only wanted to replace just the one unit and use electronic dampers to create various zones. Ultimately, we decided on Sun AC because of the time they took to explore ALL of the options and present them to us. I'm very analytical, and unfortunately for the Sun guys, I had a LOT of questions and scenarios. SHOUT OUT TO SUN AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING! Eight years ago SUN AIR installed a new AC unit in my condo. They did an awesome job and gave me a very fair price. Other work was done later when I had a condensation problem. Jim, the owner, went out of his way to help solve the problem at no additional charge. The CenterPoint outage on Monday the 16th blew my fan motor. Two companies were called. I called Sun Air and a friend called another company without my knowledge. The other company gave me a price $400 more than Sun Air. That's a lot of money folks! Now, I did consider that I had a previous relationship with Sun Air because they installed a new unit eight years ago, but still, $400 LESS? The work was done by Sergio. I wish our landlord had used Sun. We rented our house because the outside unit was only a year old. This year we have gone 3 weeks without AC because the owner took the guy the realtor recommended. Bottom line: the other guy voided the warranty on the compressor. I asked at church who they use and it is Sun. Great reputation, extremely friendly and competent. They have come out twice while the owner is trying to understand the mistake he made and Sun didn't charge for either time. Obviously the situation is getting worse. Today the leak in the coils in the attic was found. This is the first time the owner has let them check the entire system. It's a mess. It is all the difference in the world working with trustworthy mechanics. If Sun had done the work in the attic or outside, this level of confusion, worry or loss would never have been reached.
