This was by far the worst. There was a live band that sucked to bad that my ears were literally hurting after. Some chick with dreds in a wedding dress. Terrible voice, sound. The bartender kept rolling her eyes and looked irritated. They had a special-$2 for a glass of PBR! (I like this but not enough to ever go here again) Then some short dude with a bun, told my friend to "piss off" because we didn't want to stay. Do people really say "piss off" in Southren California? He was definatly a local. What are they missing that they have to over compensate with over done decor. Tacky. Everything dark red and glowing blue bar top with netting and feathers. I felt like I should have just graduated high school and be in an emo band, cut myself, and cry. Feel out of place at those really cool clubs in LA? Have body issues about the extra 100 pounds you're carrying around, not sure if the bouncer will let you in with your Fila's and over sized polo, or haven't hit the club scene in 20 odd years? Avoid the trendy spots and the cool people by driving down to San Pedro's Crimsin! I'll admit that a younger and trendier crowd joined later in the evening, but we were really regretting our venue choice early on that Saturday night. The layout might suit a lounge or wine bar more than a club, but I'm not really sure you can pull that off in Pedro. It's hard to take this place seriously as a club when the dance floor feels smaller than your dorm room in college. I don't care how many boob-inspired art pieces you put up on the wall, it's not taking my mind off of the fact that this space is not much larger than a one-car garage. read more

San Pedro has an impressive number of bars per capita, because this town is full of alcoholics. Unfortunately, alcoholics generally like their liquor as cheap and anonymous as possible, hence the vast number of dive bars. I love dive bars as much as the next guy but sometimes you want something a little bit classier...you know, someplace to take the missus or friends from out of town. Enter Crimsin. Fair prices for the quality of drinks, good selection. Excellent atmosphere, with good music and a 60" TV dead center behind the bar. Counter is backlit with red mood lighting that changes color when they put on drink specials. Sure, their ID checking and wardrobe screening is a bit aggressive, especially for the area, but if it keeps the place clean, all the better. Highly recommend going when bartender extraordinare Mallory is working. She whips up some of the best cocktails I've tasted in this part of the city. read more

Here's the thing - when you come to Pedro for a drink, you shouldn't be expecting some high class night club that serves you the finest wines in Southern California. And Crimsin will certainly not meet up to that expectation - but that's what I love most about it! If you've had a long week and need a place to let loose and order a few drinks, this is the place to be. Great drink selections, fair prices, and I can honestly say I've never had bad service. The owner is a legend and the bartenders are all amazing! Especially the blonde one - she is AMAZING and always recommends fun new drinks for me to try! Owner of the place not cool to his employees. Argued with bartender's about hurrying up and helping everyone faster than they are capable... because faster turnaround means more cash in the register. Almost 13 bucks for a standard jack and coke is another downside. Shitty experiences twice. Avoid. This place sucks the gordon fisherman's musky sea chode. Left a sour taste in my mouf as if I used a sandpaper tongue scraper covered in citric acid. It's Peeedro man. You can't charge that much for drinks. Turnaround shows. Make a change. I came in on Sunday with a friend of mine that lives near the area. Most of the bars in Pedro are kind of divey, but this place seemed more trendy. This place had a really good selection of beer, and my friend had a Moscow mule, now at first I thought that it wasn't going to be anything new and just taste generic. Boy was I wrong our bartender Danny "the pretty boy" (as the other two women at the bar called him) really added something special to it. They weren't over powered with alcohol but strong enough to take the edge off. I really enjoyed the service that he gave us and was super friendly. I think I might have found my new bar to go to when I am in San Pedro and hope that Danny takes care of me again! read more

Ok -- you're saying FOUR STARS ??!! Almost nobody else gave it more than two! Ok, well here's the thing... Red lighting, mostly crappy beer, not cheap, interesting music, very clique-y. All the guys seemed to have pony tails that somehow POOF out in the back like a Chia Pet ! TOTALLY fuckin cool ! ...but I didn't have one of those. So, I got 'the LOOK'. Hill-fucking-LARIOUS !! I LOVE this place. I mean, so it's edgy and maybe even a little intimidating. But c'mon ! That's the basic requirement for a dive bar - which is exactly what I used this place as (regardless of the image they WANT to put forth) -- a place to have a couple beers, do some world-class people watching, listen to randomly interesting music (right now: ...you don't have to be rich -- to rule my world... -the ¥ formerly known as €$), and just kick back. This isn't that bad of a bar to hang out at! I will say that I just kinda stumbled upon this bar. The service is great nothing too special but it does it's job. Drinks taste just right! This is one great place to go to! It has it's flaws so let me point out the two flaws of this place. I walked into this bar around the summer of last year! Back then I guess someone else ran it and I was kinda expecting the same thing. Well it's been improved a lot and it looks like the bar at a hollywood club. I don't like thier little dress code thing but I guess I'll deal with it. Second is the fact that this might just be a personal opinion, but on the night I was there is was nothing but hip hop being played. I'm not the biggest fan of hip-hop but I feel that playing Hip-hop at a bar just isn't the right feel for the place. Maybe 80's would fit it better. Any kind of music that is faster than you hip-hop songs would make a huge improvment to this place. Maybe some House Music would work! read more

Crimsin is useful on the nights the Brew Co closes early... I know, I know... TOTALLY different vibe, totally different crowd... but I fit in both places, so I'm cool with ordering a microbrew and then swinging over to Crimsin for a cocktail... Yes, dress code, apparently... I've never had an issue, but then again, I don't wear board shorts out to any bar. The drinks were pretty cheap, with a good selection of beers on tap. I was a little weirded out by the giant tv's behind the bar.. but I guess on slow nights you can sit and booze up and watch a movie? Best use... you're from Dro Town.. your date is not. I went to this bar for the first time after the San Pedro Brewing company this weekend and I was not disappointed at all. The looks from the outside of it looks as if it's going to be a run down hole in the wall kind of place but it's so far from that. The 2nd you walk in it's like WOW I would have never guessed this is what it looks like. We sat at the bar and ordered a few mixed drinks with some ice cold beer. The bartender was good and provided good service to us. We made our way to the back of the bar to find a pool table in a room that had speakers all the walls and playing some good music with a big T.V on the wall. The pool price is only $.75 to play a game which is really good considering I've been to bars where it's been more then that. We played a few rounds of pool and decided to make our way to other bars in the area as this was our first time bar hopping in San Pedro which is definitely not a great idea at night because a different type of crowd comes after dark, not so much to this bar but other bars in the neighborhood. We will definitely be coming back to this bar and next time we will remain here rather then bar hopping. read more

Booboo, after promoting for clubs in San Francisco and San Jose, I gotta drop their rating to a 3 maybe a 2.5... Came through with some fam and friends and the Dj was dope, but they hate on battling showcase on the stage... When I sported the Frisco or san jose club scene, if you were down, we front your soul, I'll put you on that cage or platform, and if there was a line on my clipboard and you were live, you can strut. Oh well, this is San Pedro. It is what it is, so I dipped and went to good fellas. Ain't dissing crimsin, but crimsin didn't fill the dance platforms. It's the weekend, do that for the weekdays. Still though, they're cool. But no longer my number one... Back to good fellas. We'll see next time... read more

This bar has so much potential, yet it just seems to constantly go down hill. Finally there's chairs that don't fall, when you sit down. But, the over all cleanliness of the bar is disgusting. Cups with old lipstick stuck all over them, a bathroom that you can't even physically go in without nearly vomiting. On some days the smell from the bathroom is so overwhelming it over powers the whole bar and makes it smell wretched. At least half of the time the bar taps dont work, and the prices seem to keep getting raised. I'd understand raising the prices if the overall expiernce were to get better. The staff is extremely friendly for the most part, however some of them have no clue what they're doing. If you're going to hire girls with no expiernce bartending, at least take the time to train them properly. You can see them trying their best, but without the right training you end up with a completely incorrect drink that is one of the most commonly ordered drinks. Not to mention the $10 you're paying to get it, you'd expect it to be made correctly. Overall, there's a lot that could be done here to make this place a lot better. Hopefully the owner takes note of the issues and starts to fix them, before they continue to lose even more customers. Also, what ever happened to the dj's, karaoke, and go go dancers? Crimsin used to be packed, now it's almost like a ghost town. read more

I really enjoy going to Crimsin a lot! I go pretty much every weekend because they always have a great dj and I live right down the street. I love that they have drink specials and shot specials too! I always feel safe inside because the bouncers are always making sure nothing happens to anyone and their is a strict dress code! Now they even have bands playing there and everyone seems pretty helpful and nice to me. Inside it's name says it all (Crimsin) because it's a dark sexy red with a bunch of private booths and an extended fully stocked bar with cheap drinks. In the back is where they have a dj or band with seating and room to dance! I also like the nights that I have been where they promote a specific brand drink and even had a Brazilian dancer. It's a fun place to be at on the weekends or even when you just want to stop by and have a drink on the week days. I think the only down fall of this place is that their is only one bathroom. It sucks when your a girl at times lol but it's well worth it! read more

Just like a little kid, Crimson just doesn't know what it wants to be when it grows up; a dive bar, a club, a lounge, a sports bar. The music was a mismosh of everything you can think of from Metal to Hip Hop to Pop; the drinks were standard poors and way over priced, $47 for 2 shots/ 2 cocktails (seriously? Do they know they're not in DTLA or SM?); the bar tenders were friendly and helpful (one of the few pluses) and since it was pretty dead, I won't comment on the patrons. If the place figured out its identity and charged San Pedro prices (since we are in SP), I'd consider going back. But there are better choices in the area. read more

Not appealing at all, I will not be coming back again. I am a Pedro local and am always willing to give local spots a shot, pedro doesn't have much of a night life but I decided to give this place a shot because my friend was very suggestive with it, I will NEVER come back. The bouncer carded me but not my friends, selective carding is a red flag for me. The bar stool I was next to was covered in puke and the bar in general smelled like feet. No one went at all to clean it up the entire time I was there. There were girls dancing on a table or something in skimpy outfits, one girl which had a tampon string hanging out for the world to see, a TAMPON string, seriously? That's gross, and in a sense degrading to women. The bar was filled with way too many drunk people that should've been sent home. read more

So I came here with Hazel K. and Hugo C. (read their reviews below) and well I mean this place has an interesting uh...vibe. 1- The bartender didn't know how to make my drink, interesting since it was on Crimson's bar menu. When I got my drink it was reallly strong but all I had to do was tell her it was too strong/ not enough flavor so she remixed it for me! Being nice goes a long way folks. Oh and I think my drink was like $8 which is kinds pricey for san pedro. I'd look into their happy hour. 2-The crowd: well it's definitely multi-cultural! But more on the "homies" side...but hey who am I to say stuff? I grew up in Wilmas. Besides, I've been to worse places in Hollywood so I can't really complain about this place in terms of the people. Age range: 21-40's. Again.... i've seen 60 year olds at the club so eh. 3- Music, I will say that the dj had a good set the first two hours..after that he kept playing some techno shit. I hate techno! But again, I've heard worse--mainly in hollywood where people like that emo/techno shit. Ugh. Also, great place to practice your moves-like Napoleon! You will not be judged. haha So for now I'll say this place is A-Ok. Not bad, not good. If you don't feel like driving to hollywood/ long beach to go dance and have a drink come here with your ladies. It's small enough to wear your ultra high heels and put them to use because you know it's a pain to use them elsewhere since most places requires shit load of walking. I came here a while ago and thought this was going to be a really cool bar bu it was like meh whatever. Its an extremely small bar for the amount of people they let in. This bar has a few small booths for "bottle service". They have a tiny dance floor that is made for about 10 people. I think they usually have a DJ. The drinks are crappy and they run from $7-$12. The times that I've come here they didn't charge me a cover but i don't know about now. This is a trendy bar that wants to be a club and they crowd isn't great either. This is definitely a place for those who want to pretend to have an LA experience but not enough gas money for the drive and drinks. It's a nice enough place for Downtown San Pedro. the bar looks very hip on the inside, but a lot of places do with the right lighting. I went here on the Halloween weekend and there were GoGo dancers. I don't know if that is a regular thing, but it was entertaining. The music was a little high in the treble department. Even songs that were meant to have base were turned into some techno/dubstepish improvisation. Not my favorite. The crowd was very 'made-up'. As I said before pretend LA Experience. I will try them again sometime on a regular day, after the holidays. Maybe I might get a different feel. read more

This place is a joke. Besides the fact that its the size of two parking spaces... Blonde bartender did not know how to make drinks... I asked for kamikaze and she gave me some flavorless warm drink, we asked for plenty of other beverages and all were gross... especially Jager Bomb... how do you mess that up? Dancers did not have a clue what they were doing on stages, were stiff, and no sense of rhythm, it was more comedy then anything else. Security was pretty good about getting rid of drunk punks, we had one guy come up to us looking like an Angry Bird how drunk he was trying to pick a fight. It was all around mixed crowd but you still got the pesky locals that don't want anyone from out of town. We left after an hour and a half. DJ was great but as for the rest of the place, I will never be down to Crimson. read more

Hard for me to rate any joint very high that has a dress code and charges a cover (two things I despise). The ambience is pretty cool here (red lighting, lit up bartop, and some cool artwork adorns the wall). The doorman is pretty cool the times I've been here(no cover last couple times). Decent beer selection and decent pour on mixed drinks. The DJ spins tunes in the back room where there is a small dance floor. With the right companions this place can be part of the makings of a fun night out. I just prefer some of the neighboring watering holes. Definitely worth peeping it out. read more

Came here on a friday night for the first time.It wasnt packed but had a decent mixed crowd. Easy to find, with a parking lot across the street thats free to park in if you can find a spot. The bar/sitting areas are small, but what bar isnt? Let's get to the good, the DJ was super oper good! I felt like I was in the club and wanted to get my groove on. Then I noticed nobody was dancing, and I didnt see a dance floor? Just a pool table area. Played top 40s, dance/techno, hip hop. All around good stuff. Definitely a bar for some good drinks and good tunes. But if you want to dance, this isnt the spot. Nobody danced all night! read more
