After patiently listening to her situation, he graciously steered her away from spending her money and gently implied that the computer wasn't showing signs of damage, and if she positioned her hands differently on the sensitive tracking pad, it might stop erasing her entries. She was feeling a little embarrassed because she would have to tell her ride that the trip was unnecessary, but Bryce said "just tell them the computer tech wasn't smart enough to fix it" and keep the rest to herself. That was just the sweetest way to handle an elderly client. He was patient and kind and I just wanted everyone to know how amazing Bryce was. And he acknowledged me when I entered even as he was helping the lady ahead of me. Then when it was my turn, he handled my issue with ease. Great job, great worker.

They ran diagnostics beforehand and, according to their own system, there were no other issues. I was told it would take about 24 hours; instead, they kept it for over a week. When I picked it up, the battery was very low. I quickly opened several files to make sure everything was there, and it appeared to be. When I tried to shut it down, it wasn't responding, but I was in a hurry and assumed it had frozen because I had opened several things at once. A few days later, I charged it and turned it on. It could no longer find an installed operating system. I was in complete shock. This computer had NEVER had a technical issue other than the battery. I took it back the next day. When I returned, they said it was "fixed." Then I asked if my files were still there, and the employee's expression immediately changed. They were ALL GONE. Instead of explaining exactly what they had done, I got theories: maybe a power issue at my house, maybe some hidden problem they hadn't detected -- despite their own initial diagnostics showing no other problems. The facts are simple: I brought them a functioning computer for a battery replacement. After their service, it couldn't find an operating system. I brought it back, the system was reinstalled, and years of my files were gone. I NEVER authorized them to erase my computer or perform any procedure that would delete my data. Worst of all, they never took responsibility, never clearly explained what procedures they performed, and NEVER even offered to attempt data recovery. I lost years of business files, projects, documents, programs, and work that cannot be recreated. Yes, I should have had a backup, and I deeply regret that. But not having a backup does NOT give a repair shop permission to erase a customer's computer without authorization. Months later, I am still discovering things I lost because of this experience. I would never trust Mac Made Easy with another computer. BACK UP EVERYTHING before leaving your computer here and get in writing exactly what they are authorized to do with it.

However, Montez was super sympathetic and tried really hard to try to diagnose the issue. He seemed to think it was the battery but he did not have the Sumsung S7 battery in stock that day but he did tell me I might also have an issue with my port because there was some corrosion. I was leaving the next day and took it to a local repair back home who confirm everything Montez said and Montez did NOT CHARGE ME ANYTHING! Honest, ethical and super sweet vendor. Not willing to rip you off, he just felt bad he could not give me back a functional phone. Thank you having the skills and integrity to give me an honest answer even if you could not fix it. His shop is also full a super cool accessories and many other customer seemed happy with their screen repair (lots of lava rock injuries) and I would definately go back if I ever have a cracked screen. I had noticed it before because of the phone cases they sell and didn't realize it was also the phone repair place. The person who worked here was very nice and had the right cord for my phone. Four stars because it was not cheap! But very convenient and very easy and then I could go back to vacation.
