Certified Sounds? More Like Certified SILENCE! - They Hung Up on My Strategic Mute! The irony is not lost on me. I called "Certified Sounds" expecting sound advice, or at least a sound connection. What I got was a brutal lesson in corporate eavesdropping and a premature disconnection! I was in the middle of a crucial, high-stakes negotiation... with my friend. I hit the mute button for a brief, highly strategic two seconds to whisper-consult about whether to ask for the 'Premium Package' or the 'Deluxe Super-Sonic Bundle.' You know, the kind of moment that makes or breaks a deal. And what did your "Certified Sounds" representative do? They clearly couldn't handle the pressure of the pregnant pause. They heard the deafening roar of my silence, assumed the call had ceased to be entertaining, and SLAM! I was summarily executed from the conversation. It was the most aggressive, decisive hang-up I have ever experienced. It wasn't a disconnect; it was a digital assassination! Do your call handlers think the internet is powered by thought and if they don't hear a voice, the whole matrix collapses? If your customer service is so paranoid about two seconds of self-reflection that they jettison the call, how can I trust you with something as complex as a car stereo installation? Will my subwoofer quit on me if I pause the music for a snack? Will my home theater system power down if I briefly mute the movie for a bathroom break? Recommendation: Buy a tin can and a string. It offers superior customer service, better sound fidelity, and a much lower chance of being judicially terminated for daring to think about what you want to purchase. My strategic mute was a momentary lapse in audio presence, not an invitation for a breakup. Consider my business un-certified! You've successfully turned a potential customer into a highly-annoyed mime. And mimes, as we all know, are notoriously bad for word-of-mouth advertising. read more

Awesome! From Customer Support to products to explanations! These guys rock! I got a vehicle alarm here and they were quick to install. They also obviously take pride in their work because you couldn't tell anything had been altered inside! They took the time to explain everything to me as well and made sure everything was working before I left. Not only that, they assured me to come back if any issues and stand behind their work! Plus they're super affordable! If you're looking for after-market vehicle alarms or sound systems, I highly recommend this place and the crew there! Mahalo for caring about your customers! read more

I had an issue with my Jeep's Alpine unit powering off and wouldn't power back on. I call Certified Sounds and asked if they would be able to take a look at it. At the shop about 30 minutes later and immediately started working on it to try and figure out the issue. They removed and installed a new modulator (think that's the name) and the unit powered up fine. He replaced it with the original modulator and now the whole system was working as it should. He said for some reason the system had a malfunction but after changing out and then reinstalling the original part the system worked fine. He recommended I keep the original modulator in it and did not try and sell me a new one. He said it was probably just a malfunction and a new one was not necessary. Mahalo to Certified Sounds. Truthful and no upsell. I definitely recommend this place for all your audio needs. read more

Don't waste your time with this place. If you don't pay their overinflated prices on primitive audio equipment they won't install it. I have never been to a business that wouldn't do an install if I was paying for it. Too bad. I'm glad I've saved $1000's by the guy refusing to do business with someone who brings in their own deck and subwoofer. If they can't do a simple wire job why would I trust their equipment that they sell. Off brand names with double the price of name brand... what a joke... dude tells me to Goto a guy off instagram... wow.. not Pono... read more

Derek and his crew still took care of me. Warrantied my old reverse camera and actually installed a new and upgraded one. Derek took care of everything and it was all free. Definitely reccomend certified sounds for all your car needs. Great service and workmanship, and Ill definitely be back to install a few more things. Thanks again Derek! read more

I just got me a new JVC deck on my 2013 4runner and a small JL sub to fit in the back just in case I would have to use my 3rd row. And it fits perfectly. He had me choose what size sub I'd want first before driving off. Derek and his crew did an awesome clean job with everything, no wires shown and just a clean work. And he was really knowledgeable with all the questions I wanted to know. It took me a week or two to make my final decision and I have no regrets. read more

I would highly recommend Certified Sounds. Awesome service & prices for the sound system I had installed in my truck. I was surprise as to how much the installation fee was, overall I was expecting everything to cost more. The extra cash allowed me to purchase a pair of Alpine headphones, another great product that they carry. Sound is amazing. I am one happy clam. Mahalo Brothers! read more

Was very impressed by Certified Sounds. Owner Derek knew what he was talking about and was able to diagnose my problem immediately. The stereo in my Nissan Sentra hasn't worked since I started driving it so after two years of no sound or radio I finally caved in and started to look for places that could install a new stereo. I saw the positive reviews for Certified Sounds and decided that I would trusted them to get the job done. They installed the new system and got everything working perfectly, this was almost a year ago. Everything worked flawlessly until about a month ago when my deck stopped turning on. I finally called Certified Sounds and set up a tentative appointment to drop by. I pulled up to Certified Sounds and was helped by Derek. I had expected to be there for a while but, after 30 minutes of checking thinks out, he discovered that one of the wires was cut. He quickly connected the wires and had my system working again. When I asked him how much I owed him he told me not to worry about it. He also said to come back if I had any more problems. I'm super stoked with the quality and service I have received. I highly recommend Derek and Certified Sounds. read more

I just picked up my truck from Certified Sounds . They pulled out the system I currently had and installed an amazing system. I just told Derek what I was interested in and they delivered. I'm totally satisfied. It's better than what I thought it would sound like. The work done was clean and professional. I made a huge mistake going to the car stereo shop on Wakea in Kahului. I not only wasted a lot of money ,the system they installed was a total piece of crap. Do not go there! It's right next to Valley Isle dry cleaning. Check out Derek , he'll take care of you. Learn from my mistake. If I went to Certified Sounds first I would have saved a bunch of money. read more
