I decided to switch tinters since my last guy broke a couple door panel clips and didn't say anything. For every negative review I write, I make it a point to write a few good ones. And I realized I hadn't written a review for Tint Masters yet! I recently took my "new" car to get a quote on 2-door & rear tint. He explained to me how difficult it would be to tint my rear window (I bought a 2016 MX-5 Miata convertible) and walked me through a couple different options, their advantages and disadvantages, and gave me a couple quotes. I decided to just do the two doors for now and made an appointment for my next day off. This is my second vehicle I've taken to Tint Masters and have left satisfied both times. This is my second car being tinted by Tint Masters. I went with the crystalline and by far it's the best tints I had. The cost is worth it, it keeps my car cool and you barely feel the heat. I had all my windows tinted on my pilot. But unfortunaly my front windsheilds were not working with the material and caused ripples and I contacted them via email and they are quick to respond. They had let me bring it in a replaced it but then again the ripples we're still there. I again contacted them and they looked at it and said it could be a defect on the window, but they wanted me happy and asked if I want to remove it and refund me or try to tint it again. They were so kind to redo it for the last time and even change the type of film. So far this film works with my window and I don't see any ripples going on. I recommend them! What is going on in the tinting world!? First guy, (other shop) flaked on us, so we called around to see if we could get our car in the same week. Tint masters popped up as being highly rated so we called and they could get us in--great! We got to the shop and they had a nice graph up with the different tint types and even had a box with lights to show how effective the tint is against heat. They use all 3-M products ranging from basic metal used film to ceramic and crystallized film of varying darkness. Prices have gone up when originally quoted in 2019 and Not all of their tints have a life time warranty.... Now, they aren't cheap ($800 for ceramic tint at legal percentage and the front windshield!) but purported a lifetime warranty, so ok, we bit. We brought our car in the early morning and they said they'd be done earlier than expected due to another car canceling. Great!! Then an hour passes, and another hour....I will be honest, that their communication is good (no voicemail but they will always call back and are pleasant on the phone).... But the last call of the day stated they had to keep our car overnight because it wasn't done. Kind of annoying to be told it'll be done same day, to done earlier, to not even being done that day (it's a problem because I have treatment scheduled). Also had the audacity to ask when we needed the car back by the next day, like no. We needed it back by today! I have medical treatments and it's our work car, so it was difficult to leave overnight and not be considered a priority. Seems like other cars also had to stay, so perhaps better business practice will dictate to not take off more than they can chew, especially since they charge more than the industry standard. In any case, the tint came out fine and we have a lifetime warranty, so if I need to replace it before my car dies out, hopefully my experience will differ from this initial one. Expensive lesson learned: don't make appointments same-day and read through the reviews before making a decision. Go with your gut. read more

Nelson and his team of professionals are phenomenal! First of all, I have to saw how much I LOVE the Project feature Yelp offers when trying to find a quote or estimate of on work or project. Even though I emailed on a Saturday evening, Nelson responded within the hour. He also followed up all the questions I had with a complete breakdown of the different options available, pricing, and details of what each type of tint provided. Although I had a general idea of what I wanted, when I came in, he was able to show me in the light exactly what tint would look like on my car. The professionalism was top knotch. I received (as requested) a follow up email and text confirming the time that my appt. was scheduled. The morning of my appt, I got a call to come in earlier if needed, since they had a cancellation. Nelson remembered the afternoon timing was tricky for us, so he went above and beyond with that!. He called me as soon as the work was done. When I arrived, Nelson double checked all the work with me, as he had 2 other guys help with the finishing details and wiping down my car spots. What I loved is the quality of the tints!! Spent lots of money on my SUV for the best quality. What I didn't like is we took our car in at 7am and picked it up at 5pm and they were still working on it. My SUV is brand new still with paper plates when I took it in. When I received my SUV it was filthy! My car now has water spots from the solution they used and now I need to get it professionally detailed. But other than that the guy who helped me was really good. He educated us on the different tints. That's why we ended up spending more. read more

Hands down the best customer service I've ever experienced in the automotive industry. I made an appointment Friday afternoon and they had me scheduled for the following afternoon which was a Saturday! The location is in central Kahului so I was in walking distance of several restaurants, coffee shops etc. The techthat worked on my vehicle is Nelson. He explained the different types of tints and why some are more expensive etc. I hate having a hot car so I naturally went with the better option as well as it looks way better! Overall, I suppose I'm satisfied with the service and end product of this business. Initially, I requested a quote from another tint company, but Tint Masters was the first to respond, and within a very short amount of time (within a couple hours), which I appreciated. Their response, and website, was also far more detailed and informative than any of their competitors. For someone as detail oriented as me, that's a huge plus. The company I initially requested the quote from didn't respond until a day or two later. The tint job looks very clean, and thus far, I am pleased with the clear windshield tint. There is a noticeable temperature difference when I get in my truck in the afternoons, and that has been a blessing during these past few sweltering days. I also like the lifetime warranty which comes with the 3M crystalline tints. Five stars would have been appropriate for Tint Masters had it not been for three things: 1) I asked for a tint strip, but they did not put it on. At least I wasn't charged for it. The guy I talked to (Jordan, I think) offered to set up another appointment to bring my truck back in to have the strip installed, but with kids, work and whatever else in life, that's way too much of a hassle. 2) The expected finish time was the same day (dropped off at 7am). As it got later and later in the day, I began to wonder if my truck would be done. Finally, at 4:30PM (half-an-hour before their closing) I still had not received any phone call, text message, or email about my truck so I called them (despite not wanting to rush the install). The guy who answered told me my truck was almost done and I could come anytime and pick it up. I found it a little frustrating that I had to call them, and not the other way around. At the very least, it would have been nice to know that it could possibly take the entire day to complete the install. 3) Their website says the vehicle receives a complimentary waterless carwash, however; there was a decent enough amount of dirt left on my truck to question whether it had been washed. It looked as though the dirt had just been moved around as a pose to cleaned off. Also, in regards to the waterless carwash, there are now faint scratches on my otherwise brand new truck. Although they are probably not immediately noticeable to most people, they are evident to me. I could have done without the complimentary wash. Edit: I forgot to add that the staff was friendly and helpful answering my questions. Also, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to reschedule the stall, and they were very accommodating, which I also appreciated. read more

I would like to say that I been here twice to get windows tinted . The reason I'm giving them two stars an not 1 star is because the first time I went there everything was fine. I got m3 crystaline tint on side windows an my back window. I called around an wanted this specialty film I got online installed. They confidently agreed to install it at what i thought was a pretty high price point (considering i bought the film) but agreed anyway because they didnt disappoint the last time. When I went to pick up the car after several delays on the time they quoted me I was very disappointed. There was a big blurry spot on the window along with scratch marks all around the bluury spot . Initially They said if I would like they could touch it up for me. After driving around for a few days an noticeing the scratch marks an blurry spot I decided to contacted the manufacturer of the film who agreed to send over a new roll of film free of charge even though it seemed that the installer may have damaged the film. I called tint masters an They quickly backpeddled on that so called touch up they offered me even though I got the film. They than went on to say that they didn't feel comfortable working on my car due to all the tech in the windows. Basically they said i was outta luck. They offered no refund discount or any form off compensation for my mediocre 500 dollar tint. I didn't mind the high price point as long as the quality of work was there... which it wasn't. I appreciate them taking the time to help me with the film an they get an A for effort an confidence but if anything happens to go wrong your going to be outa luck at tint masters. read more

I liked the workmanship, timeliness and care for my vehicle so much I brought my vehicle back in for the windshield tint as well. The window tint used is top notch, best available on the market. The Owner provides great advice and customer service. I was offered a ride to a nearby shopping center, or coffee shop. I was kept informed of estimated time to finish. My vehicle was clean and in great condition when I got it back, unlike many car service places I experienced before. No messy windows or foot prints in the inside. They took great care not to damage my interior and provided great quality of work. The price is competitive to the same comparable materials.
