We highly recommend this shop! We live in Hāna, called this shop to get some advice as to why our 1995 Jeep Cherokee wouldn't start. Not only did the guy take our call but he offered us some sound advice as to what it might be over the phone. We live in a remote area and were trying to fix it out here with no success. So we were going to have it towed to his shop. Anyway, we took some of his thoughts to task and it started!!! We are forever grateful for the time he spent actually trying to help us! He does his job and he does it well! He offers warranty on parts he installs but gives it to you straight! He's a trusty mechanic that's not going to do the bare minimum. If he has the product on hand and sees you could use extra work on something he finds, he'll call you to double check if it's ok with you and gets the job done! Was looking to buy a used car and had them do a pre-purchase inspection. 10 minutes with a flashlight and he was able to recommend to me what the expected repair costs could be. Made me realize the car condition was misrepresented, so I passed. Ended up saving me a bunch of money making a mistake. Great service, friendly staff. Brandon was rude and not very friendly with my wife. He scraped my decals off the very small side windows of my car and said that it could not be there. They were not hindering visibility on my Tesla, which not only has a back camera, but also has side view cameras when you signal to make a left or right turn, making the Tesla one of the safest cars around. And after scraping my decals, he told her he couldnt finish the job. I talked with an MPD officer who and i quote, said the decals were fine. But i guess Brandon was having a bad hair day and decided to take it out on my wife. I do not recommend this place for anything. How can i when my wife was treated so badly. My wife's car got stuck at Maui medical yesterday. I bought a new battery. No good. So we figured it was the starter. We got it towed to I.H. Auto in Wailuku and left it in Brandon's capable hands. He called us this morning to pick it up. We went down and he said it was a brushing that disintegrated or something like that. He replaced it and added a new retaining clip. He said it was lucky the towers lifted the front of the car or the transmission would have been wrecked. Needless to say we weren't charged for a new starter and the labor for one. A less honest person could have and we'd never have known. That's why I trust Brandon at I.H. Auto and we'll keep using him exclusively. read more

I am so glad that I found IH auto. I first met Brandon when bringing my cars in for a safety check. Upon our first meeting I knew that I liked him right away. I could sense that he was an honest person and that he really cared about helping people fix their cars. When I found out that I needed some major work done on my truck. I knew that he was the one that I wanted to do the work. He is a master mechanic for GM vehicles, and was able to diagnose the problems with my truck right away. When I left the truck to be fixed he found that who ever had worked on my truck last did not do a very good job. He fixed a lot of things for me to make sure that my truck ran smoothly, and he didn't charge me extra. I had such peace of mind knowing that my truck was going to be fixed by an honest hardworking person, and that I wasn't being taking advantage of.
