I Would not recommend this shop to anybody. Came in for an appointment to get front brake pads replaced and was quoted $250. After having the car for 10min they came and told me I would need the whole front braking system replaced and gave me an estimate for $1200. I explained I only had the money to do the pads like planned and they outright refused to just change the brake pads. My options were either replace entire front braking system or have nothing done at all even though pads were very worn. I refused and took it somewhere else that happily installed just the pads and found the issue that was wrong with the braking system was just a stuck caliper pin, which was an easy fix just requiring some brake grease not replacing the whole entire front braking system like I was told I needed to read more

I have left a couple of positive reviews about this shop, but this will not be one of them. In both August and November of this year, my husband purchased tires from them. This past Friday, one of the tires blew. The sidewall just split. When he took it to the shop to replace it under the warranty that should have been in place, he was told he must have hit something on the road and the warranty would not be honored. It was bright daylight when he was driving and on the highway. There was NOTHING to hit. The tire was obviously faulty. Shame on this company for treating a good customer this way. I hate writing negative reviews but my most recent experience with Master Auto Center warrants one, unfortunately. I've been going to these guys for years for all my mechanical needs and even sent some friends their way. I recently bought a "new" car and wanted (what I considered to be a trustworthy shop) to do a new-buyer inspection on it. Just to make sure everything was in good operating order and nothing needed to be addressed. They came back with a $2k+ quote for a bunch of work that may or may not have needed to be done. I even asked the mechanic how my oil looked and he told me "I didn't check it"!!! Yet they recommended an oil change?? One can only assume that's how the rest of the inspection was handled as well. So I payed them the $250 for the inspection and walked away. It was time for a second opinion. Then I got an email from master auto center that was the last straw; it was the results of my "30 point" inspection with NOTHING FILLED OUT. See photo attached. I am Autistic so finding a reputable, friendly, and HELPFUL auto shop is like finding gold. This place is pure gold. Always taken care of me when I'm at my most distressed and overwhelmed. Always provided clear descriptions about the work needed or how my car was broken. Always answers my questions and I usually have many. NEVER stops being 100% friendly even when sometimes I'm the last person keeping them from going home with my emergency. Most importantly, they help me to find financing so that I can get my car on the road asap. It's actually helps build my credit score!! Oh yeah, they work really fast too. And guarantee their work. If I could give a 0 star rating I would. I do not recommend this business. They failed to provide the service I needed for the alignment. They failed to give us a call regarding the issue, they failed to be courteous. We were patiently waiting for info. Took them 4 hours to get an answer. They kept telling us an hour or so later. If they can't align the car they should have at least tell us but they shy away from letting us know. This has to be to worst customer service ever. We drop off our vehicle at 10:30a no body called to let us know they are having an issue with the alignment. Sarai is rude she hung up on us while we were waiting for further information. Visiting my grandma in Maui for a few days and got into her car and noticed the ac was not blowing cold air. I called around but everyone told me 2-3 weeks before I could get an appointment. Called these guys and both service writers were more then happy to help me out. The day I called in they offered to see my car same day. They understood that I needed to be seen quickly and appreciated their help. They saw the car the next day and had me out with a running ac in 90 mins. If you have car problem. This place is honest, fair priced and quality work is done here. I had a great experience from the beginning telephone call all the way to the end of picking up my Lexus in a fixed condition! I originally went to Royal Hawaiian Tire & Auto center to get my car tires aligned and once I got there to my appt they said I would have to buy new tires from them before they would do the alignment and that no other shop would do the alignment for me because my 2 front tires had a little bit of rounding along the edges. What was originally going to be a $99 tire alignment turned into a tire purchase, labor and alignment for just under $500! I was so PISSED. So then I called Master Auto Center immediately to see if I could get a second opinion and if they would align my tires. Sarai answered the phone and was SOOOOO HELPFUL, knowledgeable and honest. I could tell by just speaking to her that she wasn't trying to sell me on things I didn't need for a bigger sell. I explained everything that happened at Royal Hawaiian Tire & Auto Center and she said to come right over and she would take a look for me. She said I absolutely could still get my tires aligned and that a rotation was necessary too since my back tires looked great and the front ones would do better in the back since they did have a little bit of rounding on the outer edges. It was $109 for the alignment and $25 for the rotation. I felt very well taken care of here at Master Auto Center and that the mechanics were all honest and not trying to do more work than needed just to get the price higher. Manny the mechanic worked on my Lexus CT200h with the alignment and rotation and explained everything to me in person when he was done after his test drives, and I really appreciated that! His work was incredible and my Lexus didn't pull to the right anymore at all. I feel Master Auto Center has quality mechanics who are knowledgable and honest, just like their office assistants like Sarai, as well! I will absolutely be returning here to give them more of my business because they did exactly what I asked of them and didn't try to tell me I needed more unnecessary work done to my Lexus. First time I came here was great... this time was pretty bad... I brought my car to get the undercarriage fixed. They charged me about $80 and did not even touch it. The receipt was so vague, all that was clear was that they tested my windshield wipers which I didn't even ask for... I called them and they did not apologize but did tell me to bring it back in. Went back and they STILL didn't fix it until I pointed it out again. The mechanic said whoever fixed my car "didn't do what he was supposed to do" and still no apology. I bought tires online and needed them mounted. I wanted to avoid the mob scene at Costco or Walmart and these guys were able to do it same day, so I booked the appt., even though the price seemed a bit high. Turns out they charged me an hour labor for each tire, four hours total, even though the job was done by one guy in less than an hour. $250 to mount four tires. And I can't find a single weight on any of my rims, so I don't think they even balanced them. read more

I had been coming here for years and the last time would be my last. I was out of town for a few months and had my car in storage and naturally my car wouldn't start. I took it in to get a new battery, and they told me the wait would be at least a half hour. I said no problem and about two hours had passed, the front desk person had told me that they couldn't get to my car (all the while I thought they were working on it) and I should leave it overnight so they could work on it the next day. I was annoyed that they weren't upfront with me about their availability, I could've gone someplace else but by the time they told me everything was closing. I know things have changed since Covid and there aren't as many workers but the time frame should've been relayed to me. The next day, they said the car wouldn't be ready until the end of day, and it would be around $600 to replace the battery. I decided I was done having them take advantage of me, and went to Uptown Automotive (pretty much next door) for half the price. I called them again this weekend because they're close to home and service was great the last time. Only this time I needed an oil change and routine maintenance. I said ok, can you align it best you can until I can afford to get that done? They said no come back when they are done. On 3-21-2023, on my vacation in Maui I have starting and charging trouble on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler. It needs fixing in three days prior to my returning back to San Diego. Called several shops but unable to secure appointment. So my neighbor recommended Master Auto Center. Luckily they started the diagnostics the same day able to fixed it the next day. So I called about getting tired changed on my girlfriends car, guy quoted me $380 or something close to that. Then my girlfriend went in the next day to get that same procedure done and he was wanting to charge her like $430, how can a price that I was quoted change over night like that? My opinion is they take advantage of women who seem like they can't stand up for them selves or don't have the knowledge to back them selves up. Bad people and very dishonest. The worst experience in having a car serviced. Had the car for 3 weeks, allowed me to use their car after the first week (because they told me it would be a week and it turned into 3 which cost me being able to work) which was a gas guzzling truck which cost me over $150 to fill with horrible gas mileage (which my mini gets far better gas mileage) only to find that they double charged me for a value gasket cover same part on two separate invoices, caught them in several lies about me being told they were waiting for parts, supposedly broke one of my parts on my car when fixing it and then left my camshaft sensors unfixed which was caused when they did the work on the value cover and timing gears and when I requested refund and/or the car to be fixed by them since it was their screw up I was then told I can go to BMW Maui to have it fixed under warranty which cannot be done as the warranty is only good for the original owner not me who bought it from someone else and also it has 62,000 plus miles and the warranty only covers 5 year/60,000 miles. The bottom line is I paid for this work and it was NOT done properly and when I went to ask for a refund and/or for them to fix it they refused to do such! And I was charged TWICE for a value cover as well! And the car is still leaking oil/coolant, smells funny like burning oil or coolant etc, and check engine light is on! There was no story given different to each person, I simply ask for the repairs done of which I paid for and the repairs were not done it is that simple! And when I was clearly upset due to them not doing a proper job and keeping my car too long and using excuses I was manipulated and told how I should be happy with the good job they did and the discount they gave me already, like that is supposed to make up for shotty work done and my not getting what I paid for them to do! Will never go back again and do not recommend them at all! And I Am filing a dispute of charges to my credit card company to get my money back! read more

Went in to replace 2 front tires last year, I was told front breaks and alignment was needed as well. Took care of all of it, days later breaks were squeaking. This never happened prior to taking it to this shop. Took my car back hoping they could fix it. Wrong! I was then told my back breaks and rotors needed to be changed... since I had the money I figured get it done, they know what they're talking about?! BEWARE!! This place is a nightmare that will rip you off! We had our truck worked on by our mechanic two days prior to bringing it to Master Auto for an alignment. We love and trust our mechanic, he has been nothing but trustworthy and wonderful. Our mechanic warned us ahead of time that a lot of these other shop that do alignments will "find" problems to be able to upsell the customers. Our appointment was at 9:30 and we didn't hear anything from Mater Auto until 12:30. They called us saying they could not do the alignment due a ball joint having play in it. When we arrived at the shop to pick up our truck they informed us that they would still be charging us the $78 for the inspection. As we talked out our frustrations with them, their mechanic came in saying he could still adjust the tow package which would help with the alignment. Why didn't they tell us this on the phone before we got there and why did it take 3 freaking hours for them to say anything at all?!! They told us we could leave the truck for the rest of the day and they would "fix" the issues. We declined to have any work done and took the truck directly to our mechanic. The first words out of our mechanic's mouth were, "They can absolutely do an alignment even if a ball joint has play." This was them trying to upsell us into having them fix "Problems" inorder to complete the alignment and charge us more. We then brought our truck straight over to Royal Hawaiian Tire & Auto as our mechanic instructed. They got us right in, 1 hour and $100 alignment done! No issues or problems that were preventing the alignment. FYI, Mater Auto has a sign at their counter say "No one is allowed to wait with their vehicle while it's being worked on." At Royal Hawaiian they insist that you wait with your vehicle.... that says it all! read more

Top shelf service at SR Discount Tire!! Needed a flat repair and was able to "drive-in" without needing to make an appointment. Service was welcoming, honest, and quick!! Technicians were really friendly and polite - the flat repair (had a long screw all up in my tire) as well as a tire rotation only took about 45 minutes from when we pulled up. Affordable too!! Super nice waiting room - it was clean and spacious with small snack offerings as well as coffee and water. Also a customer bathroom. This place is awesome! I had a problem with IMM so I had to order my wheels from the mainland which worked out perfect. But I needed someone to put them on my car. I was nervous because I wanted to make sure before I ordered the wheels that they would fit. So I drove over from Lahaina and I talked to the owner Tommy. He made me feel comfortable and told me what to order exactly !!! He said there's no need to make an appointment just come by when you have your wheels and we'll put them on for you. I asked him for a price before he put it on and he gave me a fair price!!! They have a nice cool air condition room where you can wait. There were a lot of locals coming by and having work done. I brought my car to Master Auto Shop. The service was terrible. They work on my car. Every time I left there shop another icon light would go on my dash board that was never there before I never had a problem with others shops. They did give me some of my money back. But the aggravation I went threw was unbelievable. I finally took my car to the new car dealer where I bought it. I also told the service Manger at the new car dealer what was going on with them. The service manger at the new car dealer told me in round about way that Master auto center did not know what they where doing. I decided never to bring car back to Master Auto Center.
