I have been going to Mikes Automotive for all my cars needs for over 6 years. The people who work there are extremely kind spirits. I have always had an amazing experience there and have been treated with pure kindness. They are the absolute best. I am completely loyal to them. The new owner is an amazing guy. He exhibited pure kindness to me and helped me get out of a unexpected pickle with giving me quality help. Uncle is my absolute favorite and I honor the times I get his help. He always makes my experience enjoyable and I can not emphasize enough the kindness they share even hard at work in the heat of the day. If I could give Mikes Automotive 10 stars I would. They truly rock! read more

not so good experience I brought our car in because the check engine light was on. I was informed that the issue was just a faulty gas cap that needed replacing. I paid $130 to have the car checked. After purchasing a new gas cap, the light remained on, so I called again and was told it would turn off on its own after some time. Nearly three days passed, and the light was still on, so I returned to have it turned off. During a call prior to my visit, I was assured it was only the gas cap, and that everything else had been checked. They reset the light, and it turned off. Trusting what I was told, I used the car on Saturday (aug 24), only for the check engine light to come back on while driving, and then the engine suddenly overheated. I had to pay for a tow. Another mechanic checked the car and found that the check engine light was actually due to a defective coolant tube. I feel like I paid $130 your business for nothing, and unfortunately it feels like a rip-off. $130 is not an easy amount for us to come by, and I expected a more thorough inspection of the car. The towing fee was also a financial burden for us, as we live on a budget. I hope that next time, the crew will conduct a more detailed inspection, such as opening the hood and really checking to avoid missing issues like a faulty coolant tube, instead of relying solely on a diagnostic machine read more

Great group,of guys! Highly Recommended ... Honest, dependable... one of my go to mechanics

What an unbelievable experience! I think of going to the mechanic is like going to the dentist.... You're nervous, you don't know how much is going to cost, or if the people there care? I walked out of another shop because they told me that it would cost a $120 to look at my brakes and that would not be applied towards the job A friend suggested that I should try Mike's Automotive I gave them a call. They asked me if I could come right away and they would be able to look at it. They just happened to have an opening and were able to knock it out in less than two hours After paying the bill, I walked into the garage and tip both of the mechanics twenty bucks for their hard work Mike himself came to my house with my car to drop it off Class act all the way around! If there's anything wrong with my car it's going to them Thanks Mike! read more

From start to finish this was such a pleasant experience. I got honest service and it was easy & professional. All these guys are so nice. I researched my repair with other shops, they gave me the best price & waived the diagnostic fee. With the bonus of patient & courteous liaising, I think they would be hard to beat. Mahalo K. I've brought all our vehicles here for the past 15 years. They do a thorough review of your car or truck and don't do any work without your approval. They can replace almost anything on your car. I've replaced the fuel tank and almost everything under the hood on one car. On the truck, we had to replace the air conditioning. I've recommended other friends and coworkers to Mike over the years, and they continue to bring their cars here. If you're doing a safety check, you need to make an appointment because they get a lot of requests. read more

Great service on registration renewal!. the holy federal office, timing is very important, as right now, they can be overloaded with cars to do minor work and renewals. If they are backed up, I usually just leave, come back a little later, and they get me right in. I came in to get new registration on an out-of-state car, which required a DMV visit, and they were efficient on both visits. read more

Had another great experience with this shop, basically they did a free diagnostic on my truck. Confirmed my assumption that it would need to go to the dealer for the fix. This is a good honest shop and you should give them your business during these tough times. Even though there are twenty other shops closer to me, my next service on my cars will be scheduled with them. Thank you to the staff at Mike's read more

This is the 2nd time I've taken a vehicle to Mikes's. The first time I just needed more coolant for my AC, Mike's charged me almost half of what the dealership did. The 2nd time, I had them check my brakes &/or rotors because my truck started shimmy'ing down the highway the other day at a speed of 55-60 as I was breaking. Mike took a look & reassured me that my breaks were fine, it was probably just some water from the flooding a few days before that I had gone through that caused it. I only have 21000 miles on the truck so I couldn't believe that there was a real issue. I appreciated his honest assessment & the fact that they didn't charge me to look at the truck. I'll be back when it's time to replace them for sure. read more

I have been coming to Mikes shop for a few now with my old beat up Prius and he always does right by me! Excellent customer service, very friendly, clean and welcoming lobby to wait it and of course always fixes my car at a FAIR price. Recommended by a trusted friend, this place surpassed my expectations anyway. Friendly service with honest pricing, I will tell everyone I know about this place. Going to an auto repair facility for the first time can be a daunting experience. I had read several Positive ratings others had posted about their experience with Mike's Auto Repair and decided to give them a try. I was very pleased with the experience from the moment I arrived until my vehicle was done and picked up. Their communication was excellent - just like the services they provided for us. And of equal importance, Mike's pricing was very fair. I will most definitely use their services again if the need arises and recommend Mike's Auto Repair to others when asked. This place took care of me in a timely manor. Very knowledgeable and helpful. They knew exactly what to do and knew how long it would take.

If you care about your car do not take it here. I took my car here for a tune up & they couldn't even put oil it in.. and when I did go to them for an oil change, they completely overfilled the oil and transmission fluid.. I also had an oil leak that the failed to notify me about... get a mobile mechanic these guys are a rip off and don't know what they are doing read more

Super nice people! get you in and out! I go here anytime I need anything done. Completely trust them!

I have used a lot of different auto repair shops on Maui and I am pretty impressed with these guys. Quick, honest and they gave me a loaner truck which I fell in love with! Their place is hidden behind the Queen K mall, and it looks like they have only 2 bays- so make an appointment they are busy and fast! Thanks Mike I will definitely use these guys as long as I am on Maui and refer them to all my friends. read more

This is the auto repair shop I trust the most in Kahului. They are on the whole honest, nice, and affordable. All qualities which are highly sought after in auto mechanics. Will always give you a quote before doing service upon request. It's a small shop, sometimes they get busy so you need to call and make an appointment ahead of time. 2 minute walk from the Queen Kaahumanu Mall so there's somewhere to hang out. Alan (who I think is the owner) is a good guy and will tell you straight up what needs to be done with your car, so we have always felt comfortable going there. They will only focus on what you ask them to look at. read more

The best and most trustworthy place in town, hands down!!! You never have to worry about being ripped off or squeezed with unnecessary repairs. The staff there are all capable and knowledgeable. Great rates and the owner, Mike, is the humblest guy. They do get busy because they are so trustworthy, so make an appointment. They also do safety checks. read more

80$ for a oil change? Ouch. They performed it quick and they are located right next to the mall so you can shop while you wait, but man, they didn't give me an option for what kind of oil change I wanted. That's the most I've ever paid for an oil change. read more

First time ever call to Mike's, the person that answered was disinterested. Had to give him the rundown of what was going on w/ my car while he spoke to other people. Placed me on hold and when he came back, asked me to go over the problems again. He was kinda "blamey" when I asked for quotes saying "ma'am, I've never seen your car how can I give you a quote if I've never seen you car in my life". A brief no, you have to bring it in for an accurate estimate would have been efficient. Needless to say, I was weirded out and then cancelled my tentative appt. Yikes! read more

Good experience everytime I'm there so far. Had an oil leak that the Dealer could not find after putting dye into auto oil of vehicle. I thought maybe the Dealer just did an incompetent oil change. A few months later the same problem with the oil leak. Anyway, took it to Mike's and Mike's Automotive found the problem and advised the Dealer since I still had a warranty. Amazingly, when I spoke with the Manager at the Dealer, he also, advise that Mike's Automotive were trustworthy. I recommend this place. read more

I just moved back to Maui after 11 years on the Big Island. I chose Mike's because of all the great reviews on Yelp and am so happy I went there. Great people. great service and fair pricing. Alan was really patient and helpful in explaining what they would be doing. I felt that he cared that I understood and wanted me to leave feeling good. And I did. So glad to find kind, honest mechanics. It's a great relief to have them as a resource. The location is handy--if you are going to wait til your car is done, there are a couple of chairs in the office and the whole of Ka'ahumanu Center just a block away. read more
