If I could have given it a 0 star I would.
My situation. I decided to stop into the cricket store which is located directly next door to where I work 9859 SW 40th street Miami Florida, 33165)because they had signs up Indicating that they had great deals on exciting new phones! So I go in and am approached by the only male associate working there.
The Male associate explained to me what appeared to be a seamless transaction to acquire two brand new iPhone 7 pluses, added there were (no credit checks) all I needed was my debit card that was attached to the phone bill, my account number, my routing number, and my partners(husband) photo ID since I didn't have one. I explained to him my living situation, that I had a partner (boyfriend), that we used the same, account, that my name was on the debit card, but it was his account that we would be transferring over (all this info very clearly). Even at times I stated in triplicate to where there would be no misunderstanding. He begin to explain the process and EVEN used the term *guaranteed* there would really be no way that we would be turned down at all period. Even guaranteed me the colors in which they had the phones. (This was a misconception as well. They didn't have either color that was promised and my partner had to SETTLE for rosegold). Well actually when my partner went over to square away the deal first they didn't have the phone, then they had the phone, then they didn't have both phones and the manager was bringing the other phone( which by the way never arrived even though it was promised to be there by the male associate ( very confusing yeah I know what you must be thinking because boy I sure was).
So the very next day things came out VERY different. Boy was I wrong. Half way through the next day my partner comes into my work says that they were going to have to separate the accounts then combine them(for me not to worry cause when I got off work that the male associate said that he would be waiting on me to take care of me, so as soon as it hit 4 pm I walked right next door come to find out that the same male associate which had talked me into getting the phones had left oddly enough right before 4 pm (hmmmm) the store completely and had to be called back In by the manager in order to help explain the mess he helped create.
Turns out that only one of us could get a phone because they did indeed do credit checks and my partner got his phone, but progressive (3rd party provider) denied him the necessary funds to get BOTH phones) at which I was never told about that side of the process. I stated that I'm not going to leave until a situation was worked out. So I sat there in the store while they talked about me in Spanish (very rude by the way considering I'm not Latin in decent I understood some of it and some of it I didn't. So after a lil while the manager Promised to let me speak to *their* supervisor then ten minutes later when I wanted to speak to the supervisor I was told by that manager that I was I couldn't instead, I was like oh can I have the number that was promised to me. After many awkward and silent minutes of setting there I was like, ok call your supervisor and let me speak to them on the phone. Oh well belted out the manager. "We can't allow you to speak to my supervisor, and that there wasn't anything they could do for me. The only two options that they provided for me was to pay off the initial phone in full which is like 759 dollars (like I have that laying around) and they could run the credit again or open up another bank account and let it be open for 90 days. Wow! Another three months and I can have the outdated phone of my dreams!!!! Thanks cricket. Great idea. Two terrible options which doesn't help me one bit.
I would like to add the male associate looked like he was either intoxicated or under the influence because his eyes were blood shot and I smelled a faint smell of alcohol and cannibus somewhere within the vicinity of where I was setting. He tried to say basically that I lied about his *guarantee* and that he first never used the words *guaranteed* and he never quoted me a price for two phones, first months service, any extra fees, etc. in which he did as well. (I guess to entice me) with a great offer in which I alas fell for. So in part I'm going to provide my story for everyone to hear on every social media outlet that I can find since cricket isnt BBB accredited Thanks cricket for ruining my day with nothing but failed and empty promises. Now my partner gets to walk around with the phone we were supposed to have together while I'm stuck with the severely outdated iPhone 5 ( no service) in which literally pieces of the screen are falling out. read more
