I had Pam cut my hair recently and I have to say she did a terrific job. I am not into doing a lot with my hair, in fact I keep it really simple and Pam understands that and cuts my hair just perfect so that I have very little to do to manage my hair on a day to day basis. Pam is great! read more

My fiance and I bring our two boys (5 & 8) to Teddy and he always does a fantastic job! Our oldest went from Ronald McDonald to super cool kid hair all thanks to our forever favorite barber. Teddy is extremely cordial and is fantastic with our boys... we are both very grateful to have found him. Highly recommend! read more

I brought my teenaged son here because he wanted a "real" barber and not just Supercuts or something. It was a great experience. The stylist (barber?) was very cool and did a great job with his hair. It was a great experience and I definitely plan to bring him back. Nice spot too, a few little shops in a residential neighborhood and pretty centrally located. read more

Yesterday we went to see Lucy for my almost-three-year-old son's first visit to a barbershop! He was very nervous and refused to get in the chair at first, but Lucy was so sweet to him. The barbershop had holiday treats that he really enjoyed eating while I got my haircut, and then when it was his turn, he felt more comfortable and got right in the chair. Lucy brought out the toys for him as well as the "Tony the Pony" booster seat, which he absolutely loved. She also had a Superman cape for him to wear, and was so flexible and patient as he bounced around while she was cutting his hair. She also gave us a sweet First Haircut certificate and a baggie to save some hair clippings. She made it a wonderful first experience for him, and I would highly recommend her and Crestview Barbershop in general! read more

Came here for my first haircut in Austin and couldn't be happier with the service! Walked in on a Friday morning and only had to wait a few minutes. Everyone there was super friendly, I tell the other people getting their haircut there were regulars. Abby did a fantastic job taking my fairly limited description of what I was looking for and giving me what I think was a great haircut. read more

We had a great experience at Crestview Barber Shop today. Cally did an amazing job with my 6 year-old and 2 year-old boys. The 6 year-old was having a blast, as you can see in his photo, and the baby didn't cry like he did at the children's place we took him to last time. And the haircuts are much better too, the best we've got for the boys since moving to Austin a year ago, in fact. Great job, Cally! I especially like how they had toys available for the kids to play with. Also, this place is in a little strip mall with a picnic table outside and a small grocery in the same lot, so you can walk with your younger children outside or sit and feed them a bag of chips or whatnot while you wait for your turn. We didn't have any wait, but it was nice to have those options. read more

Diane was amazing!!! She did such a wonderful job cutting our toddlers hair - even though he made it very difficult for her with moving around and crying- the cut came out great. She was very kind, patient and understanding of toddler emotions. Highly recommend! They also take COVID serious and are very clean & safe. If you are looking for it a spot to get your kids/toddler/baby a hair cut - this is the place and Diane is amazing. read more

I don't recommend Crestview Barbershop. They have a high turnover with their barbers and you can't expect the next guy to know anything. Went in there recently and had my pomp ruined. When I went back the next day, he tried to make it right but just ended up ruining it even more by cutting WAY too much off rather than just admitting he didn't know what he was doing... read more

I'm very happy with these folks, in particular Callie. A couple of weeks ago, my dad found Callie when he walked in for an unscheduled cut. The work she did on his hair was matched only by her kindness to him and her understanding of his mobility issues. Enter today. I was needing a haircut. After having the same barber for over 25 years who retired at the end of 2016, I'd been bouncing around looking, even with help from Yelp. The last couple of visits with my current attempt at a long-term relationship with a barber had been declining, so I decided to give Callie a try today. One thing that can be good or bad is that Callie, like several of the people there, doesn't take appointments. Depending on when you show up, there might be no wait. Or in the case of today, you may wait a while. She's surprisingly quick and efficient though, so the wait goes a lot quicker than you'd imagine. But here's the thing. Callie gives a great haircut. She's also really reasonably priced. She's beyond warm. And the banter between her, her customers, and Teddy, one of the other barbers instantly puts you at ease and makes you feel like you've been a long time customer. So, for now, I've found a great barber. read more

Kallie always does the freshest cuts and makes getting a hair cut such a pleasant experience. Can't beat the price around this area, too!

We came here for my 2 year old son's first haircut. Kallie, who usually does walk-ins, was away, but Teddy was able to fit us in. Despite my son having a mild freakout and then needing to sit on mom during the haircut, Teddy was super sweet and was able to give him a great haircut. We'll be back! read more

This is my absolute most favorite place! In the front they are set up like a traditional barbershop. The atmosphere is great. Extremely laid back and on a Saturday the place gets busy and full of people exchanging conversations. In the back, Pam and Diane cut hair by appointment only. I have been getting my hair cut by Pam for 5 years now. It's so refreshing to have a place to get my hair cut where I feel so relaxed and I'm never disappointed with the cut. It's friendly, affordable, and I always have a good time. It's one of those places you can just go and "be"... nothing pretentious or fake about it.. .I love it and highly recommend it! read more

This place is the epitome of a 3-star barber shop. Things here are wonderfully average. I've gotten my hair cut here a couple times. There wasn't much memorable about the place itself or the haircut. I guess if you're a dude wanting a basic trim, this place will do the job. I may continue going here just because it's so close to my house, but that's hardly a reason to pick a place for a haircut. Oh, and it's cash only. read more

This is a classic barbershop tucked away in one of the best neighborhoods in Austin. You should know by now what to expect when you walk in. They do however have stylists for the ladies, in the back, by appointment only. Don, the Cajun Cutter, cuts my hair EXACTLY how I like. I used to go to Big Kat's in Houston once a month but no more. I have a bit of a old school haircut and he does it right to the T. I'll be going back to Crestview for years to come. Check em out. - Also Little Deli, THE best sandwiches in town, is two doors down so pick one up after ya get yer ears lowered. read more

I can't explain some of the complaints in previous reviews of this place. My experience was great. I was honestly a little reluctant to try this place for a while, but after several less than stellar experiences at Supercuts I decided to give them a go. I'm glad I did because I got the best haircut I've had in a long time. The barber, David, did a great job. Real nice guy and fun to chat with. The old school style barbershop made it all the more fun. They are cash only, so be prepared for that. I did not make an appointment and the wait was probably around 20 minutes. Longer than I'd prefer, but worth a good haircut. read more

I'm 56 years old. I've had a few hundred haircuts in my life. I went to Crestview Barber Shop for the first time yesterday about 1:00. I called ahead, but I could've walked in, with no wait. It's classic neighborhood barber shop. David was my barber. He's a friendly guy who clearly knows his craft. My wife says it's the best haircut I've had in years. I'd say it's damn near perfect. If only they served cold beer. read more

I love the 1950's neighborhood barbershop ambience. I love Kallie who works the first chair inside the door for walk-ins, and who cuts my hair perfectly every time. I love chatting with her. Teddy gave our two-year-old his first haircut today and he was amazing. Everyone at the shop was so friendly and happy to see our toddler walk in. Teddy was great with our son; he gave him a fantastic haircut as he was squirming around playing with his toys. I'm sure he's great with adult hair too :) but if you're looking for a kid haircut Teddy is the best. read more

Great local and friendly spot. If you're looking for a casual setting and friendly staff, this is the place for you.

I wish I could show you before and after the excellent Pam at Crestview Barber Shop worked her magic on my stupidly long, mistreated, split-ended, terribly tangled post-wedding hair. She took off over four inches and I feel a million times better! My friend Catherine recommended her to me as a friendly local business owner offering affordable cuts, and I'd highly recommend her for anyone with fine hair! Especially since she has fine hair herself, she was able to make great recommendations and understood my requests, which have sometimes been ignored by other stylists who didn't care or didn't understand how to handle fine hair. She was a pleasure to talk with and the place felt absolutely Austin. I left feeling like I had a new friend as well as a fantastic hairstyle! read more

My mom has seen Pam for years, I've seen Pam for several (she even did my hair for my wedding day!), my husband sees Callie, and our son will be visiting Callie soon. This is a treasure in the middle of Central Austin and the atmosphere is fantastic. Really really recommend. read more

Great people, great cuts, no BS hipster elitism. $17 for a men's haircut, throw them a $20, they do a really good consistent job.

Since Hancock Barber Shop closed and I lost my longtime barber, John, I tried Crestview Barber Shop. Kelly took me in as a walk-in and did a great job cutting my hair. I will be back. read more

I moved to ATX 2 yrs ago and was so nervous about finding a new place to get my hair cut. A friend of mine had referred me to Crestview Barber Shop and I'm so glad I dropped in one day. This place has that small town feel right in the middle of Austin. My barber is Kallie and she's amazing. She always listens to what I want and nails it each time. The razor neck shave and shoulder massage are an added plus too!! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fresh cut with friendly faces and budget friendly prices!! ‍ read more

What an awesome little barber shop!!! It's in a nice, quiet area and it's right next to the little deli so you can grab a bite to eat after you get a cut! Our barber is Kallie and she is the best around! My husband and kids have been going to her for the past 3 yrs and are never dissapointed and they refuse to let anyone else touch their hair. When you walk in she will be the first one to greet you with a smile bigger than dallas!! Go give her and this place a shot and I promise you'll never want to go anywhere else!! read more

I was hoping to support a local business by switching where I get my hair-cut, from the local chain to Crestview Barber Shop. I called to make sure I didn't need an appointment. Their web site advertised a chair was always open, but given this was to be my first time visiting them, I wanted to make sure. The person I talked to on the phone said I would, in fact, need an appointment, because I was female. At this point, I explained that I wanted a male hair-cut. I have super-short hair always cut in a male style. I make sure to emphasize the male hair-cut, because I don't want anything remotely resembling a female haircut. He explained that it didn't matter, I'd have to make an appointment, and the haircut would cost $30, compared to the male rate of $14 advertised on their web site. I made sure to explain again that I truly wanted a male hair cut, but it didn't make a difference to him. As a gay person who is also gender-queer, I don't appreciate the gender discrimination. My hair is like any other male, and there is nothing to warrant doubling the price merely because I'm in a female body. If a guy can walk in without being hassled and get his haircut, I'm not sure why I should be treated any differently. I was quite unhappy to see my efforts for supporting local business failed so miserably. read more

Guys, did y'all know this shopping center was here!? I didn't! I still haven't hit up Little Deli but plan on it soon! So this barber shop is a blast from the past. I feel like I'm a kid again going to the barber shop back home that my family frequented. It's a congregating place for people to not only get their hair did but also to hang out. My barber that I love had recently left Bird's and relocated here. Thankfully, he gave me a heads up. I've been here twice now and all of the people here are nice and all. This last haircut, I think I hung out for like an hour after the cut. It's THAT kind of place. read more

Old style barbershop that took me back to my childhood. Impeccably clean and so well cared for that it felt like I had stepped through a time portal into the 1960's. You can tell that the people here love what they do and love where they work. A real gem. I'll be coming back. read more

Jared is the best kid's hair cutter in town.

Stay away from the moody, snarky, tats up to his eyeballs, entitled, highly feminized millennial named Teddy. He'll chop your hair every which way. If you dare to kindly point out how chopped and uneven it his, he'll quickly snap back in his typical indignant, sarcastic, disingenuous tone "well, we want you to have a great haircut, don't we", and then proceed to intentionally mess it up even more. He'll zoom and snip on his buddies for 20, 30, even more minutes as he gabs away like an elementary school girl. For those who are not, it's chop, chop, hack, zoom, hack some more, all in 4 minutes flat, followed by his exclaiming "hey isn't it great?", and you're out of there buddy because he's all slammed and backed-up with more clients, despite the undeniable fact that there isn't anyone there waiting! The dude is either malicious, or as they say in the Big Easy just flat out don't have his right change. If he decides for whatever unknown and unpredictable reason that he doesn't like you, then watch out, he'll be sure to make your haircut totally miserable enough to ensure that you'll never come back! read more

Great atmosphere, very welcoming. I get my hair cut by Jarrod. He does a great job and very quickly. Also, they do straight razor neck shaves with hot lather and after shave balm. I've tried the chain on Lamar by Taco Deli and they just don't get "it." Additional Notes: Very easy to find and parking is plentiful. If there is a wait, go to IGA and get a cold one and drink it at the LIttle Deli. This neighborhood is the best! read more

I just moved to the area and needed a new barber. I went to Crestview Barber shop as a walk in. It's small, traditional, with a nice laidback atmosphere. A barber by the name of David cut my hair. He talked me into doing something different with my hair that I would normally do (something more modern). I was a little nervous at first but after he was done I really liked what he did. The next day at work I got so many complements on my hair. I am grateful for him for suggesting something new and different. I will definitely go back to David to continue to get my hair cut. read more

I have been going to Crestview Barber Shop for years, and I absolutely love the haircuts I get from Pam, the owner. Everyone who works there is super nice, and the old time barber shop setting is so cool. I highly recommend this barber shop for kids haircuts.
