This post office represents the worst retail experiences I have ever encountered in 35 years. They routinely violate USPS procedures by refusing to mark packages available for pickup when they arrive, refusing to hold packages for even a single day for pickup, immediately returning packages to sender without notification, and in their most recent failure, it appears they have literally thrown away a package that was sent to me without having even notified via tracking I could pick it up. I cannot fathom the depth of stupidity, apathy, vitriol, and general awfulness that it takes for the people who work at this location to perform their jobs so abysmally on such a consistent basis. They like to be nice up front at the registers, however that is the only redeeming quality of this dumpster fire. Where do they get these idiots who can't even execute rudimentary package handling? I anxiously anticipate the day that the USPS is privatized and locations like this are swept clean of the human garbage that work within. Go literally ANYWHERE else and do not put anything in the hands of these scumbags. read more

I have had important letters sent back my vehicle registration the last 2 years in a row, package sent back then I was told by the post office that they held it for 2 days but the delivery service stated it was sent back same day it was delivered. I have had no issues with the other postal workers,but the post master it got to the point she was making me fill out the proof of residence 2 to 3 times a year and locked me out of my p.o.box on many occasions ,, and took the box I had for about 20 years.contact all business and friends to give the new p.o.box No# not a nice lady. read more

RUDE RUDE RUDe! If I could give it 0 stars I would... not sure what the lady's name was but she was a blonde, white lady who was doing passport services. The rudest person I've ever met! I showed up for my passport appointment and she is barking orders across people as to where to wait for passport service. I told her I had an appointment at 12 and she said she doesn't have me on her list. I come to realize I came a day late, which is my fault... I ask if there's any way we can wait and she said " I'm booked, make a new appointment". It's not what she said but how she said it! Absolutely so rude. I've read several reviews on how the postmaster is such a rude lady, I'm starting to think it is the same lady I dealt with. It's sucks that people can't just be kind nowadays... a little kindness goes a long way.... And this lady clearly hates her job and life. read more

The post office starting refusing to deliver packages to my PO Box # if it wasn't included in the address line. I haven't had issues in the past and they didn't give any notice this was changing. It wouldn't be a big issue except I have 4 packages due to arrive addressed the same way. The reason they gave for the change I believe is unacceptable and is just laziness. They were tired of people complaining that the packages haven't been sorted even though the customer had tracking that it was delivered. I just disagree with the change and wish I didn't have to deal with it but it's what you get for living in the mountains. read more

I went to pick up a package, with MY name on it, I had multiple identifications and the lady refused to give it to me because I didn't have one of those blue cards. Mind me the last 4 years during the holidays I've picked up multiple packages WITHOUT the blue card because they never put them in my mailbox. read more

The worst Post Office on the Planet, period. The Employees steal packages! There is no Management overseeing this office. My new I phone was stolen and they just kept telling me the package never arrived. I notified USPS OIG and they told them to give me the phone. Absolutely terrible service in this post office Where do I begin? Let's start with the female postmaster, rudest person I've ever met and has no business dealing with anybody if your going to be rude and mean and horrible to yourself customers (customer service is not for you) The lock on our pobox is worn out takes ages to get in the box and they refuse to change it! The blue cards ooooo how we all love them, trouble is you need to wait in line forever as the lines are usually backed upto the last aisle whilst one person is serving, just to get a package that could of and should of fitted in the many empty package lockers! But no they rearely like using them.. it takes effort! Another thing mail doesn't always get delivered to the correct box. We were waiting for very important letters, everyday for two weeks I was there and nothing , so we asked and was told it's not our fault then one day it all shows at once (loads) and I know it was delivered as got the notification 2weeks earlier... turns out they had been purring it in somebody else's box who returned it! Fineally the Mail gets put out later and later like 4oclock lately it just seems this post office has really gone downhill lately yes there's covid and their measures are poor but they are not keeping their eye on the ball read more

Wait...that super ridiculously mean and rude lady IS THE POSTMASTER???? Wtf!! I'm literally blown away to learn this. How sad to have the person in charge act like a cranky 4 year old while the people under her have enough decency to know there's no reason to be a rude little %@$! to everyone, all the time. Couldn't be worse. They're too busy to help or even deliver to my actual P.O. Box in VOI. Would be nice if they left blue slips letting me know they didn't even deliver to my P.O. Box. If I ask for help they just say they're too busy. They won't look for your packages no matter what's inside. Even life saving covid masks.. also the guy with the chin beard eyes every female in line and it's gross. Be prepared to wait in line to not get help. Also the roof leaks and there are animals living above the asbestos ceilings tiles. read more

I hate this place... for one they're rude every single time I go in there and two I went to go pick up a package this morning that was shipped from USPS it is at the post office but when I went to ask for it they would not give it to me without a blue tag in my box even though it's sitting in the back they're just too lazy to go back there and look for it and then tells me that they don't know when they will be putting it in my box... For the most part the staff Is polite and try to stay on top of things. They occasionally have lost letters or packages so I dont trust them with important things like medication. read more

The overweight femal post master Jerri Lynn for the second time refused to look for a package scanned three times at the Crestline post office the morning of December 23. I had waited in line 30 minutes, she suggested I come back monday after the holidays. Not only did someone lay their hands on my parcel 3 times that morning, they scanned it one more time after I was there at noon, to send it back, insufficient address. Generally, I've loved this post office in my 29 years on the mountain -- I mean it! -- but I can't love it the same way right now. Considering that nobody in Crestline gets home delivery of mail, resulting in a huge number of residents picking up P.O. box mail there, one would think the post office would be super-vigilant about its covid-19 practices during the pandemic. The post office is not exempt from state and county mask regulations; how hard would it be to post a "masks required" sign and a copy of the regulations at the doors? Then how about the postal clerks setting a good example by wearing face masks for customer interactions? (Never overestimate those old guys who figure that if the clerk didn't wear a mask, then they don't have to wear one either.) How hard would it be to prop open the doors during business hours, so that customer upon customer didn't have to swap germs by touching the door handle? I've had conversations with strangers in the parking lot, older people, who sent other people into the lobby to get their mail for them because they're scared to go into the place, what with the number of people going in and out without masks. Also, a note about general hygiene: The post office seems to look grimy even as it's being cleaned. The cleaning man, or the post office, ought to invest a little money in tools that produce a professional result, such as a window mop, a bucket, a squeegee and some microfiber rags. A spray bottle and paper towels will never cut it on big plate-glass windows. P.S. No matter my little complaints, please support the USPS! read more

Everyone is very nice, and I have observed that they know many of us personally and ask after the kids, etc. They work hard and reliably to provide all the unique requirements of our little PO Box community and have always helped me solve any dilemmas with address issues with patience and a smile since 2013. Although I have never encountered it myself at our post office, I don't mind a little crustiness. These are the folks with the hearts of gold underneath and every small town needs at least one! read more

if I could give no stars I would. They have changed there policy and do not bother to inform anyone. Instead of calling or sending an email they do whatever they want. then talk to the lady in charge she is rude and condescending. I understand they have a monopoly because it is a moutain community but that isn't an excuse for the just the lack of caring. i have even heard an employee stating that the post office should close early and its not fair she had to stay because she had to pick up a package from arrowhead postoffice. employees know that there post office sucks and they wont even use there own service. this is a government agency that is suppose to serve the people but instead they just like having the power because if you disagree with them then where are you going to go. Came here for a passport photo and to send in my passport. They were so much more helpful than the Lake Arrowhead post office where they made me make an appointment and then told me they couldn't guarantee they'd even have photo paper in stock. The only issue I had was that somehow my son's passport application was lost in the mail and took extra time to get there (we had it expedited) and then they said it would take longer to process because there was no social security number (he didn't have one at the time I sent in the application). The application said I could use all zeros if there was none and the post office attendant said the same thing. Apparently the Passport Agency doesn't communicate well enough to give people proper info because they changed that policy a while back requiring SS#s. The post office had kept a copy of the application or the tracking info so they helped me track the package when it hadn't arrived in the scheduled window but it didn't help much as the package was somewhere on the east coast far away from where it was supposed to be. It was just nice that they had kept the information. read more

I've lived up here for almost 13 years. And we all know that there is one, ONLY ONE, friendly post office employee. It sucks to have to pick up or mail out packages or to try to utilize another service like getting a passport. The blatant condescension radiating from the employees is frustrating and belittling. There is one in particular, Jeri-Lynn Miller, who is beyond rude. I watch her interact with customers on a regular basis and cringe at the way she speaks to them. I pray not to end up at her window. But, often enough I do, and it is the most unpleasant experience. Today was no different. I know it is the holidays and they are stressed. But I watched her chew out a man for not knowing the color of the paper he filled out to put a hold on his mail. And, mind you, this is in front of a lobby full of fellow townspeople. He was obviously uncomfortable and frustrated. Unfortunately, I ended up dealing with her. When she asked if I had a package to pick up, I said I had a question. She gave me a big sigh and eye roll before I could even explain. Then, I showed her an email with my address and a tracking number. I was told at this very same post office how to add my PO Box to my physical address on orders where I don't know the shipping method. I just received 2 packages last week doing it this way. Yet she began to argue with me before I could even finish my sentence. Therefore, I spoke over her (quietly as not to make a scene). She tried to call me sneaky for writing my address with a dash (AGAIN - I was told to do this by THIS post office and it works). All I wanted was for her to check the tracking number to see if it was still in the back. She wouldn't let me finish a sentence and started playing to the line in the lobby, "She won't even let me speak!" and throwing up her arms. I was close to a whisper, trying not to make a scene. I finally told her she is always so difficult. I told her to check the internet. It's not me, it's her :( Anyway, I used to feel bad for her, thinking she must have a miserable life to be so rude to people in her community for no reason. But I'm just tired of dreading my visits to the post office. I'm tired of her attitude. And it stinks that we all have to continue to put up with it. Postmaster Miller's last reviewer was being too kind. This woman seems to hate life, all the creatures on the earth, her job and existence itself. It is shocking and offensive to watch her treat her employees and the public in the abusive manner that she does. It really is extreme. This isn't on occasion either. This is with every human encounter, every transaction and every day. I dread using my post office since she arrived. Postal service administrators: Please save us! This post office doesn't even deserve 1 star. Most incompetent employees ever concentrated in 1 location. The entire time I lived here they lost my mail, tore it up or left boot marks on it in my box (there is no delivery). They even have a stamp saying "this damage wasn't caused by this post office" REALLY???? And now my moms forwarded mail we called for them to send her medications and they said "we can't authorize this, if my boss was here I could but she's not. So we're sending them back"!!!!! So now she has to pay $50 in copays AGAIN!!!! Wish I could say this is unbelievable but it's what you learn to expect from them .This place sucks !!!! read more

I give them 5 stars based on the great job they do given WHAT THEY HAVE TO DEAL WITH. We'll never have home mail delivery up here in the mountains. Half the streets don't technically exist, it's too remote and the chances of your mail being stolen are astronomical if left in an on-street mailbox. I 100% prefer having a nice secure p.o. box. The post office is understaffed but they do the best they can. Avoid going in when all the moms are in town picking up their kids from the school bus stop and you'll do fine. Budget considerations limit their Saturday hours. For those of you who work off the mountain and can't mail packages up here during regular business hours, mail them where you work maybe? And I've never dealt with a rude employee there, including the postmaster. Treat people with kindness and respect and generally it will be returned. I think many times the problem may arise when people demand services that are simply beyond their control. read more

Make sure you get your mail addressed to your PO box. If it is addressed to your physical address you will never receive your mail. I used to live on a farm far from civilization and we got our mail delivered daily. Here you must pick up your own mail at the Post Office and hopefully you are able to do that during lobby hours. Having to depend on this post office is one of the worst aspects of living in the mountains. There's no delivery to houses so you are stuck driving here fingers crossed that you will get your mail. Have a package you are waiting on? Good luck , did you get a slip in your P.O. Box to let you know your package is ready to be picked up at the counter? Good luck. I cannot count how many times they " just can't find the package, I dunno" and to " try again in a few days" really? Are you running a business up here and send and receive mail and packages? Good luck. Two of the employees try , I thank them for their efforts , but the old angry white ladies , wow , I don't know what bad deals were done so cruelly to them in life but the entire mountain community is being punished for it. The manager is rude as well as hostile and really makes as little attempt as possible to manage or help people. Have a package they can't seem to find in the back all week? Well , she just does NOT have time to look for it. I'm truly amazed I haven't seen more nervous breakdowns by the people being tortured for trying to get their mail. Open for two hours over the entire weekend , fantastic! glad I have to plan my day around it as a mail order business .Basically this place is holding your mail hostage for a ransom they won't describe , we are forced to come here to get mail , I can only assume that's the reason the place is still in operation , if it was an optional stop there would be a lobby of tumbleweeds and cracked out raccoons living inside.Good luck crestline , you need it. read more

I totally agree about Postmaster Miller! This is the rudest woman I have ever had the misfortune to have to interact with! I have a terminal illness, and am home bound, so any shopping I do is always online, and my husband is the one who goes into the Post Office to pick up our mail and packages. This has been our situation since 1997, 2 years after we moved up here on the mountain. A few months ago a gift that I ordered online for our granddaughters 3rd birthday was lost by the Post Office. Records clearly showed the item arrived at our Post Office, but we were never given a Pick-Up Slip to pick up the package. When my husband went to the Post Office to ask them to look for the package, Postmaster Miller informed him that she would not talk to him about it, since the package had been shipped in my name and not his. She said she would only speak to me directly. When he told her that I am physically unable to come into the Post Office due to my illness, she told him she still would not talk with anyone but me. Finally, she agreed to talk to me over the phone if I called her. (What a hassle!! We had never had this problem in nearly 20 years!) When I finally was able to reach her by phone, she informed me that we had already picked up our package! When I said that No, we had not picked up our package, and had never even been given a Pick-Up Slip to get it, she refused to budge, repeating that her records showed that we had been given that package at the counter, and that we had to have had our Pick-Up Slip to get it! At that point I told her that if it was true that my package had been given out, then our Pick-Up Slip must have been accidentally put into the wrong P.O. Box, and that whomever got our Pick-Up Slip must be the person that they gave my package to since we never got it OR the slip to pick it up with. She blew a gasket then! She said that they don't put those slips, or mail, for that matter, into the wrong P.O. Box, and that she personally had trained her staff better than that. She also said that the person who picked up the package would have had to show ID at the counter, so the package could not have been given to anyone other than me! I had to remind her that I am home bound and cannot go to the Post Office, and that my husband picks up all of my mail AND packages--and he's never asked to show ID when picking up packages addressed to me, even though we have different last names! She might as well have just called me a liar right then, because she told me that that was not possible, and there was no way my husband picked up packages addressed to me, especially not without showing his ID! I kept my voice calm and respectful (UNLIKE HER!), even though I was boiling mad!! I kindly told her that it WAS true that he picks up my packages without showing ID, and further more we often get mail in our boxes that is addressed to totally different people/P.O. Box numbers. So if we get other peoples mail--AND PACKAGES--from time to time, then it was certainly possible that our mail and package Pick-Up Slips could have been put into the wrong P.O. Box too, and the person who got that Pick-Up Slip could have picked up our package. I cited two instances over the previous two months in which my husband had been handed someone else's package, and it wasn't discovered until I noticed it when he gave it to me--at which point he had taken those packages back to the Post Office, telling them that they had given him a package that was addressed to someone else! She finally conceded that it was "a remote possibility" that the same thing had happened to our package, but that since it could not be proven that it had she was not willing to tell the vendor who sent the item that it might have happened to my package, and that she was going to continue to tell that vendor that I had been handed that package! Enraged, I asked her for the name of her Supervisor, because I intended to file a complaint about her and the way she had handled this problem. She told me in the rudest tone imaginable that she does not have a Supervisor! When I replied that unless she was the United States Post Master, then indeed there was somebody who was above her in the chain of command, she told me, "Good Luck with trying to find out who that is. And even if you DO file a complaint, it won't matter, because the Post Office and it's employees are exempt from being made to pay for lost packages anyway. So you'll just be wasting your time. And I'm NOT willing to tell the vendor anything different than my records show you have already been handed that package!" And it turned out that she was right! Unless she had been willing to tell the vendor that my package may have been given to someone else, they would not replace/refund me for the lost package. And the Post Office and it's employees cannot be made to replace the package either. So much for my granddaughters birthday present!! (We received someone else's package AGAIN the following week!!) read more

In the 25 Years that we've lived up here, we've had very "few" problems. A few misplaced packages, given away a couple (Dishonest people that have kept them. SAD!) The Post Master had been Grumpy a few times, but always ended up with a smile. We all have good days as well as bad days and we all handle them differently. We have No complaints about the Post Office or the people working there. They are all Nice and have to deal with a variety of attitudes and moods from the public. The only complaint is that they are so small and during Christmas the lines can be long. They do the best that they can, but it sure would be nice if the rented the building (Old Oak Trunk) next to them for mailing and picking up packages. I'm sure they haven't any control of their hours, but 9-5 isn't ideal since many people living here work in San Bernardino, Riverside, even Los Angeles and beyond. There is no home delivery type mailboxes which most of the U.S.A. has. Also because over 10,000 people and businesses rely on this post office for all their mailing needs, it can get very crowded during peak hours where you cannot find parking, and wait in a line of 15+ people. But, I actually have found most employees there to be nice. read more

Newbies to crestline ALERT, ALERT ALERT. There is no mailman/women up here what's so ever. So if you are thinking moving here and depend on your mail like me-take that into consideration. Applied for a PO BOX back in Oct 2020. Gave up after 4 months of waiting. They finally called at the after i broke down and got one in twin peaks (excellent PO box by the way). I've had to occasionally wait in line for stuff here count on a 45 min wait to get anything done.. god forbid you have to find mis labeled package up here! Meaning if you bought something and they used your home address YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR PACKAGE unless you have tracking and are there in 1 day that it SHOWS that is is THERE (it will get sent back) Jesus H crist what a nightmare this place is. Count on a Covid 19 breeding ground as you wait in line with 20-50 people (1/2 unmasked) doing the same thing: hunting for mail. There is no dedicated person to handle the po box or package detective , so you have wait in line and burden the two counter people (who actually seem like they are doing the best they can) and bog up the whole line futher. its kluster#@$@!% at best and your in it folks. read more

By far the worst post office ever. I have had to come several days in a row to pick up packages that I have been notified as "arrived," but they can't find. They lose packages constantly and have super bad attitudes. Stanley has been the only kind one; Pam and the other girl are super snobby and rude rude rude. They won't even check over the phone if a General Delivery package has arrived, which they always lose and seem to magically find when I ask to look again. Such a joke! Nice little post office in town. To pick up a package or anything that involves talking with an employee, expect half your day to be taken up. It's taken me 40 minutes to simply get a money order since they tend to only have one employee working during what I would think are peak hours. They need more staff and staff that knows when to help. read more

Received a blue slip to pick up a package that has to be retrieved from the back by a employee. She asked everyone to give her there slips 4-5 people gave her slips. I attempted to give her my slip but she looked at me and immediately turned around and headed for the back. I then waited with everyone else that had blue tickets...letting other customers in front of me since...its the norm. She came back and gave everyone their packages. Looked at me and helped another man. (I'm in a orange work vest with reflector strips). Then she told me that i had to get back in line and wait my turn! A customer spoke up and said i was in line ahead of him! She reluctantly helped me and used an excuse i had the wrong color of ticket even though she had a large pile of the same blue tickets. (I felt she and the other postal representative were upset i spoke to an asian woman. The man was very short and flip with her. I don't Normally, give bad reviews. But this was a little too much. 2 weeks earlier i had dog medicine which should have arrived in 3 days. I didn't get it till the 10th day. Maybe, i should have complained then. read more

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. They have "lost" 3 packages of mine in the last year. They swear that they sent them back but they can't give me any return shipping info and when I inquire with the sender they never recieved the supposed returned package. I truly believe that my packages are bein stolen by an employee. If they were truly returned they should be able to give me some return information. The post master is rude, every time I go in I pray she isn't at the front counter. She is inpatient and makes me feel like were bothering her. I don't understand why she treats her customers like she does. I have made a complaint before and they had her write me an email, in her email she blamed me for being irradiated because they could not find my package. I had also witnessed a couple who came in because the office lost their cell phone. It clearly showed the phone had arrived at the post office but instead of apologizing and trying to help them she said it's not here I don't know how many times I've told you that and I don't know what you want me to do. Please please leave if you cannot be a proper humane being and let someone who can do a better job take over. read more
