I decided to visit Crescent Beach Care based on positive reviews and being from out of town, but my experience left much to be desired. The first day I went there I registered as a new patient and made my first appointment to see a doctor. I then went to the appointment and was attended by an ARNP. I was concerned about possibly having mononucleosis and told the ARNP I would like to get some test done to be able to find out if I did or did not have mono. We had discussed blood work to test for mono and a CBC to check if all other values were in range. I informed the RN it would be self pay. My main reason I wanted to get blood work done was to check for mono. The same day I had my blood drawn at the clinic and I was told to book an appointment 3 weeks from that day because thats when the results will be back. When I went to the appointment I was informed the results had not come back and I would need to rebook my appointment or they would call me with the results. A week from that day I receive a phone call to be told that the blood had been lost in transit and could not used for the lab testing. I had to go back and have my blood redrawn, even though they told me I would not have to wait and I would be taken is immediately when I arrived that did not happen and I still had to wait for my turn. I was given a call with my results and told everything was normal and the only concern was a vitamin D deficiency for which the prescription had been sent to the pharmacy and I could pick it up. No other results were given. When I called for a follow up I was informed the mono test was never done even though that is what I had specially requested. Despite visiting the clinic multiple times, taking time off school, paying for transportation, and agreeing to self pay the full amount the tests I requested were not done and I was not even informed that none of my requested test were done and instead to sum up the results I was told everything came back normal. I am self paying for the visits and test done that did not address my concerns. I reached out to management with my complaint and they decided to completely ignore me. Given my experience, I was disappoint in both the time I wasted and the care I received, I will not be returning. read more

IDENTITY THEFT RISK -My family of 5 tried to become new patients at this practice after my current provider of 25 years in town quit taking United HealthCare insurance. I ended up walking out of my appointment because the staff DEMANDED my social security number which is NOT required and against all security advice...even Consumer Reports. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2015/02/why-you-shouldn-t-giver-your-doctor-or-hospital-your-social-security-number/index.htm. I had provided my Drivers license and medical insurance card and told them it is not necessary or required to provide my SSN which is for EMPLOYMENT purposes only... not medical (unless you are on Medicaid which they are trying to change as well). I even asked for the office manager who also refused me treatment unless I provided my social security number. My profession is in cyber security for a major security corporation and I KNOW this small doctors office does not have the security firewalls and protocols in place to protect from identity theft. The only reason they want it is so they can track the patient down for billing. Even the most sophisticated medical corporations are vulnerable..... Anthem, Blue Cross, Nemours have all had major data breaches.....Identity thieves use health data to file false tax returns or open lines of credit, but also to claim medical benefits and services, such as prescription drug coverage, in someone else's name. According to a recent Reuters report, medical information is worth about 10 times more than credit card numbers on the black market. The damage and cost to the those that have had their identity stolen can be massive, ruining your credit and go on for years. Last month, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) put out an alert to healthcare organizations to be on the lookout for data hackers and to STOP requiring Social Security numbers from their patients since that is the "keys to the kingdom" for identity theft. So find another provider since this one does not care about your security..they only care about THEIR ability to collect. read more

I am a guy so of course I need to be bleeding to go see a dr. and even then it's rare. Well it just so happens that not once but twice in the last month I needed immediate medical attention. The first when I cut the end of my finger off at work I stopped in hopping upon hope that it was not as bad as it seemed. No such luck they immediately saw the urgency on my face and finger got me to the back sewed and my finger back on with instructions for care, professional, kind, quick and very reasonable since I have no insurance. The second a major kite boarding accident blew my knee up and slashed my hand, sheriff, friends, family all expected me to go to emergency room. I knew that could take awhile and I needed relief NOW since we where at beach I said go to Crescent Beach Care. What can I say in less time than it would have taken me to be admitted to the hospital I had 14 stiches in my hand a prescription for MRI, medication and was resting in my OWN bed. I am Cecilia Lewis and recently went to PA Guillemin because I was having reoccurring chest pains and and some other issues. She was so kind and wonderful, and was willing to take the time to answer ALL my questions. (I do ask a lot of them) She gave me an EKG and reassured me that my heart was OK. My other problems she handled so thoughtfully, She put me at ease with the results. I was so impressed because I had been to a specialist who didn't seem to care, PA Guillemin was totally the opposite. My husband is now making an appointment with Dr Long because of the way I have been treated in the past by Dr Thor and the entire staff at Crescent Beach Care. read more

While on vacation in Crescent Beach, my daughter began running a very high fever and developed a horrible cough. I took her to Crescent Beach Care and saw Dr. Long. He spent about two minutes examining my daughter and told me that she had pneumonia and I should take her to Jacksonville to be treated. Sure enough, the doctor's at the children's hospital in Jacksonville diagnosed her with pneumonia. Dr. Long didn't charge us for our visit because it didn't take him long to diagnose the problem. In addition, someone from the clinic followed up the next day to check on my daughter's condition. I was quite impressed with my experience. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Beringer's for 30 years, after he retired, he started working at this facility and I haven't been happy since I let the staff know that I felt like their office needed help and this morning the office manager canceled me as a patient, they told me that if I left a review They couldn't have me as a patient unless I left a good review, somewhere, I think Crescent care has violated my rights of freedom of speech, I think office manager is treating me like Donald Trump's being treated. Dan and I were patients of Dr. Long's when he practiced in Palatka. We followed him over to Crescent Beach Care when he opened, it's an hour drive from our home but we would not go to anyone else for our health needs. Simply put "The Best Office in Town" I have seen Dr Long for the last year for urgent issues. The office is always nice and the staff is wonderful. For a busy office they keep the flow moving.
