This place is still as solid as it was a year ago. Today I tried the pork belly plate with collard greens and mac & cheese. The pork belly was delicious and the sides were equally good. The place looks nice, tables could have been a little cleaner, there was a dead roach on the floor but at least it was dead so I assume they spray. Fries were good, brisket was ok, the wings were not my style with the sauce flavor but they were prepared well, the ribs were really not good with a very hard bark and fat that was not rendered at all so they were extremely tough to even bite into and didn't pull away from the bone at all. I'm not sure if perhaps they were in a warmer too long. Judging from the amount of good reviews I'm thinking I hit them on an off day. The guys working were very friendly and helpful. read more

Stopped at Creekside BBQ on our way down to Gulf Shores. Place is cute and service was really great, which is why I'm giving 3 stars. The good stuff pretty much stopped there for us. We didn't have any meat, sides only. Between the two of us we tried the cole slaw, Mac n cheese, feta potato salad, and corn casserole. Cole slaw was okay, vinegar based and not really our cup of tea. Mac n cheese was not great...grainy and not a lot of flavor. Feta potato salad was the same consistency as the Mac and cheese and just didn't do it for me at all. Most surprising was the corn casserole which seemed more like a corn dip with queso. Being from IN our version of corn casserole is way different and more cornbread-like. Unfortunately, would not stop here again. Shout out again to the friendly staff, though. read more

Who knew a former Waffle House could be so nice!! I picked up a to-go order and it was ready very quickly. The staff was friendly and the place was so nice inside. There's a patio in the back where you can sit near the creek. I ordered the fried green tomato sandwich and added bacon. It taste like Benton's bacon (which is the best bacon ever). The sandwich was AMAZING. I ordered the Mac and cheese as my side and it's really good as well. Plus, you get a ton of it! Overall, I'll definitely be going back to try something else. read more

Yum yum yum yum YUM!!! We were so excited to try this old Waffle House converted into a local BBQ spot. These folks did a great job. I didn't take pics of the inside because it was packed, and I didn't want to take pictures of patrons without their permission, but I did take pictures of the delicious food. We sat at the bar (they have wine and beer on tap!). The pulled chicken salad was SO good and filling. They make their own croutons, which I loved, and the dressing was mouth watering. My husband's chicken was also very good, and his two sides were so tasty: corn chowder and potatoes salad. I cannot wait to go back to try the ribs because they looked so good! This place was solid. An old Waffle House or Huddle House that has expanded with a back porch. My wife had pulled pork sandwich, potato salad and banana pudding. I had a rib plate with fries. Ribs were good and fries were great (fries mentioned in several other reviews). We weren't sold on the barbecue sauce....it's not traditional. The sauce is comparable to The Salt Lick in Austin, TX. I don't know where all these positive reviews are coming from but everything was way over salted and expensive to boot. $15 for a wing plate that included only 6 wings and two sides? One of which was the worst collard greens I've ever tasted. Really sweet and sour with no smoke flavor and way salty! The chicken was tough and not cooked enough to come off the bone nicely. Even the sauces were unimaginative like cheap supermarket blends. The website made this place sound like bbq heaven. It barely made purgatory. Dear Eric P. Thanks for getting back regarding my review. We were passing through town on the way back to Arkansas so we won't be back to give you that second chance. Sorry. No one wants to send back a bad or mediocre meal so my recommendation to you, and any restaurant owner touting "chef inspired sides" would be to taste test every new batch you send out to customers. Had you done so during our visit you probably would have pulled both the bird and the collards. Some of you other sides do sound unique and the takes them ought to be better described up front. Got there after the lunch crowd. Service was prompt and courteous and the food came quickly. Ribs were great. The slaw and beans were also good. I really like their sauce. I like what they did to this old Waffle House. I came because I'd heard good things, especially about the smash burger. So, that's what I ordered. It was very good. The two thin patties of meat were cooked almost crispy on the outside and just fine on the inside. The American cheese was melted nicely. The bun was soft and not to thick and bready. I like pickles so having several was fine with me. The pickles were interesting, so I asked for one more to try it plain and not on my burger. The waitress brought me several (way more than I asked for) and learned that they are wickles. Sweet and spicy! Went great with the burger! Great experience!
