Fantastic service!! I went in yesterday for two cupcakes and a slice of Princess Cake for a small celebration of a beloved ones birth. The service was great! The two people I interacted with both had masks on, and were friendly; I could see their smiles in their eyes. Creekside was busy, even close to closing time; and I was grateful to get in and out as fast as I did. I often skip this place because of the long lines and many staff don't wear masks during this pandemic. The strawberry cupcake was good, the frosting was flavorless, but the strawberry was fresh and sweet, and the cake was good. The Princess Cake was well loved by the person who ate it - I'm going to head back over this week for a slice for myself. I truly appreciate businesses (food industry especially) where their staff care about the health and safety of others, and the two I interacted with were thanked for wearing masks. read more

We had the most difficult time connecting with bakeries looking for a simple wedding cake. Most never returned my message. I contacted Creekside via their online form. I received an email within a day saying the baker would contact me. I waited for 3 days and decided to call instead. I ordered a simple strawberry shortcake cake but asked for it to be 2-tiered. I wanted it simple, with only some fresh strawberries. They created the most perfect cake for us. It was understated, and fit exactly our vision. The cake was delicious! Every guest remarked how this was by far the best cake they ever had at any wedding. Thank you Creekside for that !! When we picked up the cake I realized why they were slow in returning my message. It was because they are swamped with customers. It is obvious that what they are doing is perfect as there was barely a seat left, both in- and outdoor. Cute and cozy place. Doesn't look like anything special on the outside but it's quite pretty inside. I came in on a Thursday around 10:30am and the tables inside were mostly taken. They have individual and communal tables so it works well. The staff is very friendly and had good recommendations on what pastries to get to go :) The coffee is ok but nothing out of this world (I'm a heavy coffee drinker so if you are not too picky with coffee, don't listen to me - it is a solid cup) - worth mentioning I got a cappuccino with Oat milk. The salmon toast was INCREDIBLE. I still think it's a bit pricey since it's just one toast ($16) but it's definitely delicious. It seems like it's a popular item as many seating inside were eating it. Definitely full of flavor. I'd definitely come here again. I'll bring my husband with me next time :) read more

We got our wedding cake made by Creekside and they were amazing to work with. We did a cake tasting with them and had so much fun trying all their cake flavors. Ultimately, we picked their princess cake flavor with a white frosting. We worked with Morning Glory Florist next door to them for cake flowers and the two businesses coordinated that for us. This bakery and brunch spot nestled into a quiet part of Novato is such a nice treat for someone who doesn't go up to the northwest bay often! It's very popular with locals and unfortunately the two dishes I wanted to try were sold out by noon so I'd recommend going early. The dishes I got to try were great though, especially the sandwich buns and the biscuits (it is a bakery after all!) They also had their seasonal Christmas drink menu out and the hot cinnamon apple cider and hot chocolate with caramel marshmallow were so cozy and delicious. I keep returning to this place when I want a good, creative, seasonal brunch. Pastries are to die for. But they run out pretty fast! By noon, the case on a Saturday is almost empty. To this day, I have not tasted a baked good or dish that I haven't liked. ALL IS FRESH, seasoned perfectly and I LOVE that their menu always changes seasonally. Highly overpriced, don't bother. Okay bakery, for Novato probably one of the better ones around. But Nugget desserts are far superior and cost a lot less. Rustic bakery, quiches, and Scones and breads for this price point I would say is far more exceptional and unique. And now we have Blue barn for even better sandwiches and salads. This is hands down the most delicious bakery and lunch spot! Every pastry and baked goods is a delight. They have a very interesting lunch menu that changes slightly now and then, but the staples are always there. Everything is delicious, but one of our go to sammies is the vegetarian sandwich - with pickled onion, sprouts, avocado, and other veggies - we add turkey or ham :) and it's amazing every time. A little tangy, full of flavor. The levain toasts are all delicous, too. My favorite is the asparagus toast, but it's rarely on the menu, so if you see it, order it. The asparagus has a slight crunch, but not undercooked. It sits on the crunchy levain with a layer of burrata, topped with micro greens and a lovely chili aioli - I think that was the right description. It feels like every person there puts their heart and soul into the food, coffee, baked goods, and service. The staff is always welcoming, smiling, helpful. The indoor dining area is pleasant - small, but not crowded. They have a very nice and sizeable outdoor area, which is always our preference. They have cakes (while and by the slice),pies, cookies, hot filled pastries, bear cakes. danish, bread rolls. and pastries. Tons of items. All so gorgeous looking, sitting pretty on the case. The prices are on par to other bakeries. They also are a cafe serving coffee drinks, sandwiches, and salads. The staff throughout the years have been sweethearts. Staff has provided excellent customer service even if there was a line building up; they gave me no attitudes or agitatedly rushed me. My favorite thing to order are their cookies... and they have a huge variety. I also like their bear claws and danishes but those sell out quick for the day. We will be back to try more food and bakery treats! This trip we tried the sausage sandwich for $18. Initially, we weren't sure about the fermented aioli; however, the light heat was a nice addition to compliment the sausage and eggs. Don't worry - it wasn't spicy! The biscuit and gravy was $20 and a generous portion of food. Biscuit was soft and fluffy and sliced with layers of gravy. Perfectly baked! Salad was lightly dressed and a welcomed amount greenery. Yummy. We spent a lot of time in the city of Novato and this was one of our favorite spots for pastries, salads and sandwiches.

Popped in for an early lunch. We had the peach salad which was beautifully plated and topped with hazelnuts, fresh peaches, and whipped ricotta. Also ordered the fig toast which was full of gorgeous ripe figs on top of ricotta. The toast was a touch to hard, but the figs were just perfect. Z I recently was watching a cooking show and they were making princess cakes. I had never heard of them, so when I saw the bakery case full of princess cakes I got excited. Even more so when they had some by the slice. Just had to try it. It's a layered sponge cake, with a layer of jelly, pastry cream, whip cream and covered in marzipan. I'm not a huge fan of cake, but this was really good! They had quite a few other pastries that looked amazing! I'll definitely stop in again next time I'm in town! read more

My pandemic saving grace. Not even kidding. Beautiful pastries with high technical merit. Cakes like Princess that are textbook perfect with cake layers that are moist not soggy, and a chocolate ganache cake that was rich, bitter, and sweet. Every family birthday and my older daughters college graduation celebration for just the 4 of us found joy and a taste of greatly appreciated normalcy to our pre-pandemic life in those cakes. The sandwiches are good but the salad vinaigrette wasn't balanced (too sour) You order in advance and pick it up in your mask. Easy Peary and safe. What limited experience I have had makes me so excited to continue giving them my business. Don't buy nasty supermarket cake for your family when you can support a local business and have the very best cake to grace with candles to celebrate life. Can I just say that this is one of the best bakeries I have ever been to. Not just is it a bakery, but they also serve brunch plates, and coffee. The bakery's ambience and decoration is very modern and chic, making it a beautiful place to enjoy a cup of coffee or a pastry with anyone. The service here is always beyond exceptional and fast, as they have implemented a system where someone takes your order and a different employee rings your order up. Furthermore, this was the first time I had actually ordered a brunch plate, in which I got the French toast. It was fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The presentation of the dish alone was exquisite and beyond anything I have ever had. My Honey lavender latte also represented the same quality, as I could taste the rich flavor of honey and lavender. My friend had the 'Biscuits + Gravy,' ( which by the way, I do not like gravy,) so I did not try it, but WOW. The presentation of the plate was exquisite as well! She also said, it was one of the best biscuits & gravy she ever had, which I don't doubt it. And don't get me started with their pastries. I've been coming here for a few years now. This is my secret go-to place in Novato whenever I want to fully enjoy my lunch. This place started as a five star experience for me years ago and it has only gotten better year after year. The macaroons are killer,, soft, almondy, with a thin crispy shell. The Biskvi which is a macaroon with an espresso and ganache topping (chef's kiss) the princess cakes are moist, light, rich. First off this place is overly priced, second I ordered a lavender latte and when I got it I took a sip and didn't taste any lavender, I asked the guy behind the counter if I could get more lavender and he snapped "I put lavender in it already" I still asked him for more. I watched him put more in and took another sip and still didn't taste any lavender. I asked the person I was with to taste in case I just wasn't able to for some reason and she said she didn't taste the lavender either. I think if you are advertising something as a certain flavor you should be able to taste said flavor. The quiche also was very bland and the texture was off.
