The employee was really kind in helping me choose the right drink, I told her I like bold, caramel-type flavors. She recommended on this warm day for the "most-popular" since its my first visit. The drink was beautiful at pick-up (so beautiful I forgot to take a photo!), and I got the hype: coffee flavor was bold, mixed perfectly with the milk, and the brown sugar + miso flavors were at the bottom that you mixed yourself. All the flavors worked, but nothing to TRULY go out of your way for. It was good though! Miso adds that "nutty, slight salty" flavor like a "salted caramel" would do. Completely enjoyed!

The staff clearly recognized quite a few customers during the short time I was there to do a quick grab and go of caffeine. The staff was super friendly and took their time in helping me pick out a bag of beans based off my personal preferences and intent of use (cortados/lattes vs drip/press). Their beans are well priced at around $14 a bag AND you get a complimentary drip coffee with the purchase! I felt like a winner! I also gave their canned lemonade and coffee drink a try - because why not? It had a unique and almost chocolatey flavor. Not sure if I loved it personally, but the quality of the ingredients and flavors were distinctly there. Certainly will take the time to come back to test out the space for a remote work day or a casual outing. Big plus: They have a parking lot and the option of indoor and outdoor seating. The space is very vintage and they have an amazing outdoor space that was perfect for hosting an event. It's a small coffee shop next to Sugar Mama's that easily surpasses some of the bigger coffee shops in Austin. As a major coffee shop Yelper, I compare the taste and quality of a roast, the ingredients in drinks (house made syrups versus regular Monin, etc.) and service/ambience. Sightseer hit all three marks. The location is also super walkable and convenient. You can grab coffee and continue on your way to awesome restaurants and local businesses on South 1st or hit up Soco after.

I loved the funky black and white bus with drawings outside. I ordered drip coffee with a cup of ice to make a sort-of iced coffee to cool down after the run. They complied and gave me a full cup of ice. They had half & half and almond milk, along with cinnamon, simple syrup and other sugars for added flavor. I added stevia to my coffee. Service was fast; my coffee was ready within 2 minutes. The interior has ample tables for sitting and colorful hanging paper fringe decorations.

I ended up hanging out for a bit to read a chapter of my book before heading out. But I tried my 3rd package of Little City coffee, (shipped from this address on their website) and though good coffee, it is simply not a dark enough roast for my espresso. I tried Messenger Espresso the first time, many months ago and was underwhelmed. The beans were just not dark enough, shiny enough nor oily enough for the sort of espresso shot I like to pull. They made perfectly passable drip coffee in a pour-over, but I am a 99% espresso guy. Recently I took advantage of a 20% discount and rapid delivery (next day! Arrived on Monday, ordered Sunday!) to try the two darkest roasts offered, Grackle and Republic. Again, passable drip coffees, but not able to produce the thick rich crema and distinctive oily mouthfeel and toasted flavor notes I was looking for. Great fast to the door delivery and good prices (though for a 12oz package, compare carefully) and as I noted, pretty good coffee, but I will return to the Italian espresso (occasionally mixed 75/25 with French Roast) from my usual roaster Anderson's to feed my Gaggia Classic Pro.

We learned about the different types and tastes of coffee at it's different stages. We were served many different brews from "defected" coffee beans up to some premium stuff so that we can get a taste for what good coffee should be like. Don't let the location fool you, when you walk into this warehouse looking shop, inside has some of the FINEST coffee you can buy. Joel's good buddies with all the best plantations and Brazil and prides himself on having first choice on all the BEST harvested coffees from these plantations. If you've had coffee at Spiderhouse, Uchi, Torchy's, and many other places around town, there's a good chance they're sources from Casa Brasil. Basically, if you like making coffee at home and not paying a premium for coffee at these shops/restaurants, you can order directly from Joel. They roast upon order so you definitely get the beans at it's freshest. The bags they come in are all hand-painted too. If you're not wanting to order from Joel or make a drive down south, you can find their coffee at your local Central Market. Bottom line, if you want the best quality coffee you can possibly find, go here.
