Me and my boyfriend go here often as we love their food, location, & service. Every time we have come, the food is delicious and fresh. I had my second date with my boyfriend here many months ago, so it will always be notable to me. :) We have tried a lot of the sushi on the menu and their edamame. I like almost everything here except for two things .. one is the spicy salmon tempura special and the other is the service. I ordered through DoorDash and it was prompt and the sushi was excellent. But the Salmon Tempura wasn't tempura at all and it wasn't little chunks as pictured on the menu. It looked like a fried catfish. The coating was flat and dark and the salmon was completely overcooked. I called to get a refund and tell them how bad it was and they refused. They told me I would have to call DoorDash. I think I've finally found the sushi place for me! Their sashimi is AWESOME for Albuquerque. Best I've had here so far, and I'm from the East coast. They get their fish in every Thursday, and I went on a Sunday night and it was delicious. I got way too much, and all of it was fantastic. I ordered a Cucumber Special roll, Spicy Scallop roll, ikura nigiri, and half orders of salmon and yellowtail sashimi. The ikura wasn't too fishy, so you know it was fresh. Loved the Cucumber Special roll - so much flavor packed into each bite. My sushi chef was awesome! I forgot his name (sorry!!), but he was both knowledgeable and friendly. He even gave me some real wasabi to try and it was tasty! I'll be ordering that from now on here. In summary, I'm a sashimi purist and I recommend this place! read more

I have been craving Sushi for a while now! I was told about this place by my jewelry teacher, so I decided to check it out today after work. Around (almost) 6pm the place was nice and quiet, only two other people in there, which suited me just fine. As soon as I walked in, the sushi chef greeted me and told me (nicely) to have a seat! The waitress was very attentive, as soon as I put my purse down, she was there with water and miso soup. When I ordered my drink , I asked her if they had Coke or Pepsi. That's really important to me. I can't tell you the number of times (anywhere, USA) where I've been fooled! I'd ask for a Coke and the staff would bring me a Pepsi, like it was no big deal. It matters. Anyway, I'm on a tangent, I just really like Coke. Don't like Pepsi. They had Coke! YESS!! I ordered the spinach gyoza which was deep fried and a pillow of crunchy, crispy goodness. The dipping sauce was flavorful as well. When my Sushi came it was great! I had salmon, Unagi (my fav) , and salmon eggs (2 of each) yummers!! The salmon tasted really fresh! The salmon eggs were a bit on the mushy side. I can't explain it but when I order the fish eggs, I like them to pop in my mouth, like bubble wrap. Not that I've eaten bubble wrap... er.... anyway, they weren't as "poppy" as I like but not bad. The unagi was perfect. The rice didn't fall apart when I dipped it in soy sauce. I've heard you're not supposed to do that but I'm addicted to soy sauce, so everything gets it. Atmosphere: It is very cozy , in that you do kind of share space. There is a long seat along the wall and then tables in front of it, so you will end up sitting next to people.It's also not a place for private conversation due to the seating arrangement. The people next to you will be able to hear it all -just FYI if that's not your thing. But it seems like it would be a fun spot on a Friday night. I was there on a Thursday (today) and so there was decent parking (at almost 6pm). At the end of the block (short walk) on the right there is a small area for parking. However, I can imagine on a Friday or Saturday night that parking lot would be full and parking would be scarce. The food was fantastic, the service was great (they were polite and fast) and I'll definitely be back again! Edited to add: I was here on a Thursday at about 5:46 pm - by the time I was leaving it started to get more crowded so I picked a time that perfect. I think the place closed and if it did, I know exactly why! Our first and last visit was met with the absolute rudest waiter! While he was checking out the my wife's chest, he could pay attention to our drink order. The food was meh but I was tainted after the initial episode of "check out my lady's boob's". I don't mind attention being paid with anticipation of a really good tip.....I hope he enjoy the penny I left for him! This experience was about 6-8 months ago, I think, and I'm unsure if they still even exist. Hopefully they have employee turnaround and that jack wagon is no longer employed there. I went here recently with my boyfriend. But I've been here many other times with different friends. I have found that this place isn't as consistant as it should be. I hear that the owners have changed as well. But this was a year or two ago. Back to the food. I always get sushi unless I'm with one friend when we get the bento box. The bento box is worth it during lunch time. Pretty good size and quite filling. The sushi is something I would like to see more consistent. My boyfriend and I got a couple of rolls but the stand out to me was the dynamite roll. It was just a month prior that I got the same roll with my friends. The time I went with my friends was absolutely delicious. The scallops were perfectly warm. However, the time with my boyfriend was still good but was not as warm as it should have. Our food started coming out before we even had the drinks. Had to ask THREE times for our drinks. A very simple drink order, glass of wine and beer. Wine came served in a beer glass. Multiple times our food was given to the table next to us and then given to us. Not really acceptable in normal times, but incredibly sad during COVID. We were told that Nob Hill is a good area for night life and young people so we thought it'd be fun to come here. First off, the place has a very good atmosphere. We ordered the gyoza as an appetizer and it was really good. However, it wasn't big enough to share with someone else. They were much smaller than the gyoza I have ordered at other places. My wife and I ordered four rolls. We ordered the New Mexican roll, Las Vegas roll, Spicy Tuna roll and the Crazy Night roll. We were shocked when it came out because the rolls were almost twice the size that were normally used to seeing! That was amazing. We didn't think we'd be able to eat it all, but we did! Last night (1/31) I went to Crazy Fish with a friend. There was a man and young lady sharing all the tables. We told the gentleman right away that we wanted separate checks. Towards the end of our meal, he brought one check that was itemized by Guest 1 and Guest 2, with the total combined. The girl came by a bit later and asked if we were ready to pay, and I told her no because we wanted separate checks. Too many times have I been somewhere and it may look right on the joint receipt, but somehow an item gets charged to the wrong person. So she takes the check back, is talking to the guy, then comes back and puts it back down and says "it is separate" and walks away. They keep walking by and seeing we don't have payment out, and just ignoring us. The girl comes and asks again, and I repeat "no we want separate checks." She tries to show me on the check how it's itemized and there's a total. Yes I can see that, but the total is for both, we don't know what each of us owes. She's like "each individual total is the next line down look" and she points to the first item which was $7.50, under Guest 2. I'm like "no, that's the first item for Guest 2. How would Guest 1's $13.99 rolls add up to $7.50?" And point out there's no individual total. She goes "oh" and walks off with the check. The guy comes back a few minutes later and says "I hear there was a problem with the checks" and I told him we want separate ones. He says they are separate, can't I see the two different guests? I tell him the same thing that we don't know our individual totals. He says that that's their system and that's how it is. I try to laugh it off and give him an out like "oh that's a stupid system huh" and he goes "no it's a great system" and walks away. At this point it's like principle for me, because of how they're acting, so no I will get the damn checks separated I can be petty too. He comes back again and asks if we're ready, and this time I'm like "no because I want two separate pieces of paper that have a total for each person. Can you do that?" And he literally tells me I should be able to do the math and find out the total. He's like "see this $9.95 you round to $10 and then the next one you round to $14 and add them together" I tell him "ya but that's rounding and that's not the exact total, plus there's that 7.625% tax, am I supposed to bust out a calculator and figure that for each person?" And he says "yup" and walks off. He comes back with with TWO SEPARATE CHECKS, so it can obviously be done. I ask him what they do for large parties and he straight up tells me they do the same itemized check and people figure it out. WOW. I absolutely know that's not true, because me and the same friend have been there for a large birthday before and got individual checks. I don't know why he wanted to purposely be obtuse like that. I don't think the girl knew, she seemed more like the host/busser/runner. What if I was struggling and/or embarrassed, and needed to know my total to figure out if I had enough on my card or needed cash or something?? Like wow. I still tipped 20% because I know the cost of living these days, and I ALSO SERVED FOR 12 YEARS. And to be honest part of me wishes I hadn't. Never have had an interaction like that and will be walking on to another place if I see that guy serving next time. read more

One of our waitresses was great--attentive, responsive, on the ball. The other literally stared at the empty water glass in front of me, while holding a pitcher of water, and walked away. Having had the tempura and Hawaiian Roll--which were amazing--we were seriously disappointed that we were going to have to wait until they re-opened. It didn't look appetizing and right away before I tried it I already have regrets ordering it. It was spicy but no other flavor was detected. The beef was chewy like eating gum. The fried batter was overwhelming compared to the amount of actual vegetables. The same could be said about my main dish, the Veggie Tempura Sushi Roll.
