It's worth the price. I thought that the menu looked a little expensive, but the portions are huge. My friend and I shared the medium Happy Boat, one order of mackerel sashimi (basically a whole side of a fish!), and the banana tempura for dessert, and left extremely full and satisfied. The final price (paying with cash) was $102.32 before the tip, which seems very fair given the size of the portions and the quality. The fish was not the very highest quality, but it was very good. The wasabi was some of (if not) the best that I've ever had. The soy and eel sauces were made in-house, and were excellent. Presumably, the rest of the sauces were house-made as well. Leo was a very good and friendly server. The atmosphere was very relaxed but could be suitable for something fancier. The one thing that hurts is the price; as fair as it is, I do wish that it were a smidgen less. read more

When we arrived, the restaurant was very full, and we waited about 15 minutes for a table. Once seated, our table already had menus and water, so we began looking over the sushi options. The menu did not indicate any gluten-free items, so I planned to ask the server about modifications due to mine and my daughter's gluten allergy. We waited about 14 minutes and no one came to our table. My husband eventually flagged down a server. I explained that me and my daughter have a gluten allergy and asked what sushi rolls could be made gluten-free. He told us that almost anything could be modified, and that we just needed to let them know. I also asked about the seaweed salad, and he said it was gluten-free, it just had sesame seed oil. He then walked away. When we were ready to order, we had to flag down a different server. I again explained that both my daughter and I have a gluten allergy. She seemed knowledgeable and clearly explained what could and could not be modified. When I double-checked about the seaweed salad, she informed us that it was not gluten-free which directly contradicted what we were first told. We ordered the Chameleon Roll without crab mix (since it is not gluten-free) and two Alaskan rolls with no fish eggs, or sauce on top for the same reason. When our food arrived after nearly 46 minutes the presentation was nice, however I immediately noticed they had put the gluten-free items on the same boat as the non-gluten-free items with sauce dripping from the non-gluten-free items on both sides. Then as soon as I picked up a piece of the Chameleon Roll, I immediately noticed crab mix inside. Which we were told was not gluten free. I flagged the server down and pointed it out. She seemed unsure how to respond and went to get someone else. I explained the problem to the new waitress and she asked us to remove the Chameleon Roll from the boat so they could remake it without crab mix. The remake took another 15-20 minutes. By this point, we had been about an hour and a half. We were extremely disappointed, especially after carefully discussing gluten-free modifications multiple times. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable eating the food, so when the remade rolls arrived, I asked for everything to be boxed up. When we received the check, a 20% gratuity had been automatically added, although this was never mentioned on the menu. Overall, the entire evening was disappointing. We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant, but unfortunately, due to the service issues and lack of consistency regarding gluten-free accommodations, we will not be returning. read more

I may have just ordered from them on a bad night the last time. This time the food was better. I only ordered two special rolls and the rest were nigiri, tofu puffs and Monkey Balls. The two rolls I ordered were better than last time. One was The Green Dragon (i think) using Avacado instead of seaweed. The other was Lobster Dance which is scallops and lobster. The Green dragon was okay. The Lobster Dance would have been a lot better without the overpowering sauce. The nigir were okay, but I prefer my nigiri to not have a lot sauce and all three I ordered were heavily covcered in their cloying (oyster based?) sauce. The Monkey Balls were meh, I've had way better here. The Seaweed Salad was excellent which I think was true last time. My first visit to this establishment was February 7, 2026. I joined a friend there for dinner and we were seated around 5:30 in the afternoon. We got right in, and observed the place fill up as we were there. There's good signage. Parking may be a bit of a challenge. There's on street parking but limited spaces available. I know there's parking in the area, but maybe prepared to hike a little bit to get here. Decor is casual. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Menu offers numerous choices. Prices are excellent. My main dish was udon noodles with tofu and vegetables. Noodles were cooked just right, the tofu was gently sautéed and had a slight crunch to it which I like. There were vegetables scattered through the noodles to round out the dish. I had coconut shrimp as an appetizer and they were superb. Nice crunch, very tender. Our waitress was pretty good; the kitchen made a fresh batch of complimentary miso soup for everyone. Get better servers, they don't smile, they are not attentive, they do not pay attention to detail, it almost feels like you are bothering them by being there. They took our drink order right away and also brought out some hot miso soup. It had great flavor and was perfect as we waited for our food. We ordered the Dragon Roll, Crunchy Roll, and the Gold Dragon Roll. The Gold Dragon was a lobster salad, deep fried with salmon and eel sauce on top. This one was hot so it was a contrast to the other ones. My favorite was the Dragon roll which had the fillings of a California Roll w/eel, eel sauce and avocado on top. Crazy Fish is a fun place to get sushi pre-covid. It's a perfect place to order curbside pickup or delivery. They serve up quality sushi no matter whether you eat it at home, a park, or restaurant, once we're able to safely dine in on location. I'm a sucker for their rainbow roll but they make a mean sushi roll no matter what's in it. Recently, I ordered their teriyaki chicken along with one rainbow roll and really enjoyed both, having the teriyaki over the course of a couple of days. And that's a major point: The quality of their food is consistently good. Their prices are reasonable. Check them out the next time you're hankering for sushi. I did one time order the dragon roll and was disappointed at the limited amount of Unagi that they had placed on it, but they, to satisfy me gave me, satisfy me to two pieces of Unagi Nigri. This was the only misstep for me with this restaurant in regarding the food, and then all the times we've been here my partner and I have thoroughly enjoyed it as has our friends and family. My go-to is always the Key West roll, yellow tail sashimi and a random roll that I choose based off what looks yummy. I chase it all down with a pot of jasmine green tea. I'll be honest, they are short on wait staff, but they are kind, eager to please and doing their best! Your patience as a patron will pay off for fresh, succulent sushi. I've had good sushi here in the past. I was really jonesing for sushi, so I ordered spicy tuna roll, and two orders of albacore sushi. I was so disappointed by my order. The albacore--if that's what it was--was the weirdest, ugliest pieces of sushi I've ever eaten. Albacore is famous for its smooth, fatty texture; a fish that melts in your mouth. Instead I got this bizarre mutant-meat one photo is what albacore should look like, the others were what I got. The spicy tuna was weirdly salty and old-tasting: I've had way better from Smith's! What a letdown! I would have been satisfied with just average sushi and was prepared for that possibility, but hoping for more. We were heading to a different restaurant before a show at Popejoy and couldn't get in. Crazy Fish was just around the corner and man, we are glad we found them. They get four stars only because it feels like they could be a bit cleaner however, this may be my personal bias because my menu pages were worn and frayed and were stuck together. Also, the area directly in front of the kitchen is messy and seemed to be a kind of a cluttered storage area for takeout supplies. The table, serve-ware, and seating were very clean. The food was absolutely fantastic, fresh, and flavorful. Service was fast and the waitstaff was on top of refills and general check-in with us throughout the meal. this place is the epitome of todays restaurant greed. the place being empty should have been a hint! today when i ate there i asked if i could substitute eel roll for cali roll in my bento box. ... which was 15 bucks to begin with. server says he will check. they do it. i get four pieces of eel roll instead of cali roll. at the end the server brings the bill with a 3 dollar upcharge. i asked why didnt you tell me ? and i said as expensive as things are. he says i am lucky the cook changed it out and thats why they upcharged because things are expensive. what a jerk! he never told me there would be an upcharge and then says i should be happy for it! aso btw they upcharged one dollar on my daughters bento. they did give the dollar back afterni pointed it out to them. needless to say i wont be going back again! read more

Pretty good, especially for Abq! Second time coming here, came after the NM United Elite event just down the street. Not too many people dining in but man were they busy with door dash. Good for them. Little slow considering we were one of two tables but I guess door dash kept them busy. Little expensive, they conveniently crossed out the old prices on the original menu but you can still see the old prices. Every roll is about $1-2 more than previous from what I could tell, some even more. These 4 rolls cost about $50 after tip. The red robin was delicious even though they did not leave off the mustard as requested. I do love eel and tuna, they were all delicious. They do not skimp on the fish either, which I appreciate. Service was pretty good as well. Considering the sushi availability in Abq, this is pretty good. They give miso soup upon sitting down and didn't charge for it! Wow. They did have an extra menu with random Asian things ranging from udon to chow mein, which doesn't exactly exude confidence in me, but whatever. I have loved Crazy Fish for about 8 or 9 years now. Had my first date with hubby there, got engaged there, and go as often as I can. Kit is the owner and he is SUCH a great guy. They recently expanded into the space next door. They were closed for what seemed like forever, but now that they've re-opened, it was worth the wait. The new space is very cute. They have expanded their menu now to include Korean BBQ and Shabu-Shabu--which I haven't gotten to try yet but I am super excited to. They added ramen to the menu as well.
