My colleague and I had a long productive day at a convening and wanted to go somewhere for seafood-- we found this sushi place and decided to give it a try. This is an example of don't judge a book by its cover. An unassuming location and exterior, once we entered, we were greeted by friendly staff. We ordered a variety of things-- I ordered a sashimi sampler chef's choice as well as the protein roll and the New Mexico roll. My colleague ordered the Bulgogi bento box. We also got miso soup and edamame. Everything was delicious and the meal is very satisfying well also being relatively affordable. I went to the place today the customer service was good. However the food is so disappointing edamame just like how I make at home no different. I got the Bulgogi bento box and that beef taste so "bland" like I put soy sauce on top still couldn't save it the other side dish like sushi, pot sticker, and the seaweed salad was mediocre. I kept hearing about this place from a reasonable number of foodie groups in town so before my most recent popejoy show I decided I was going to give it a try since I was going to be in the area. It is in the row of restaurant fronts that all look very similar over by the university so make sure you find the right door! The place is pretty small with only a few tables and a style where you order at the counter and they bring you your food. I got the salmon poke bowl which came with miso soup and my friend got bulgogi bibimbap. The poke came with a good sized helping of the fish which was well seasoned some egg sashimi, roe, seaweed salad and avocado among other tasties over rice. It was all quite delicious and very filling. My friend enjoyed the bulgogi or at least it disappeared as quickly as my poke bowl! In we go and greeted by a very pleasant young lady who explained how to order and led us to our seat. Typical sushi place - lotsa choices and everything look good. Started with a Lemon Roll and Deluxe California Roll And finished with the Lobo. They were all good, tasty & ingredients were fresh. Prices were in line with other places we've eaten at. The only downside for us was the miso soup - it was served and didn't see it on the menu as coming with the sushi. I'm thinking no charge. But it was overly salty. So, to find this place is a little challenging. Signage is not great. We walked past it the first time. But, followed the addresses and found it. Ambience is very basic. However, we were greeted by a very sweet person. She led us tour table, gave us menus, and said, "when you're ready come up and order."
