Quiet, inviting atmosphere on a Friday AM (0900). Jennifer brought coffee straight away and gave me a few minutes with the menu. I wanted a waffle, eggs, bacon and toast so instead of charging me for those separately, she changed my order to take advantage of some specials. Wasn't necessary but really appreciated. Waffle was perfect, bacon was crispy but not brittle. Eggs weren't over-medium but they were close. Overall, a great breakfast and Jennifer ROCKED! Thanks for helping this weary biker prep for a cold ride this morning! Stop in and check this gem of a place out! Craylee's! You won't regret it!

Hit on all aspects. Decided to try a local place on our drive through Utica. Free parking on the street. Great specials. They have a cool section on the menu called a little of everything or something like that. Perfect for the person who has trouble making up their mind. My wife said the corn beef hash was awesome and I tried the Country Fried Steak. It was really good. Nice strong coffee too! Highly recommend if you are looking for a breakfast experience in Utica!

Another fantastic breakfast at Craylees. Arrived just after they opened to hopefully beat the crowd and it worked out - quick service and fantastic coffee to start. We ordered the Italian omelet and a special from the board...cannoli filled pancakes. Holy sweet the pancakes didn't need syrup they were so rich! The omelet was very good, loved the greens and cheese melted over the top. Nice quiet and quick breakfast.

I love going to Craylee's! The food is always great (if they have a stuffed French toast on their specials, get it!) Staff is always friendly and service is quick. It's a cozy spot and is typically busy, but not loud. Highly recommend!

This is a hidden gem in Utica! I've never thought I'd give anymore utica a chance at breakfast but here I am at craylees and I have to say I'm happy! I'm satisfied and I'm impressed! The foods were delicious and very well seasoned! I love it! My new favorite breakfast brunch dinner place to go! They also have other food and I can't wait to try it! Just happened to stumble in this place while home for the holidays. It was really busy when we came on a Sunday afternoon and got stuck sitting at a table near the door which was pretty chilly. The servers did a great job at making up for our predicament with friendly service and keeping the hot coffee coming. In addition to great service, our food was excellent! My husband and I both thought the portions to price was excellent. And let me just say... the Wafflewich is the stuff of legends. read more

In Utica downtown with run down streets and closed shops there is one business that stands out. Craylees is a trued gem in its surrounding! If you want great food. fantastic wait staff and nice calming decor this is the place for you. Coffee was fresh and tasted great, even gave me a full to go cup! Egg white omelette was super tasty and they make some of the crispiest bacon around! read more

Nice little diner in Utica. Food was great and served in a reasonable amount of tome, despite it being busy and only one waitress. She was very efficient, and friendly. Never had to ask for more coffee. The only knock is the home fries. Too much seasoning and overcooked. This is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. read more

An awesome breakfast stop. Food is hot, plentiful and good. Highly recommend the sausage gravy and biscuits, waffles, and eggs Benedict wrap. The coffee wasn't anything special, but drinkable. The bathroom had a good clean sturdy changing table. Good decor and pleasant staff. read more

We researched nearby breakfast spots and stumbled upon this gem. We were lucky enough to grab a table right as we walked in but it was busy pretty much the entire time we were there - It was around 11am on Sunday. We were starving so we ordered sweet potato fries (with a side of hollandaise) to start. I know, who orders a breakfast appetizer, right? Anyway, we checked out the full menu and decided on Hannah's special: eggs, bacon and potatoes (which they were nice enough to make into a scramble for me) a small side of French toast and a small juice, and a 2 egg breakfast with hash browns, sausage & toast. We waited for what seemed like a really long time between our fries and food so when we saw a basket of fried donuts being carried to a nearby table we asked our waitress about them. She said they weren't on the menu but locals knew about them. Despite having ordered a large quantity of food already we put our order in for our breakfast dessert! Our donuts didn't come out at the end of the meal like we had hoped (so we could dunk them in our coffee) but we scarfed them down anyway. A mountain of food and it only came to around $38. There was an additional charge for using a credit card which would have been nice to know beforehand, but all in all great breakfast/brunch spot. Bundle up though, the bathroom is an icebox. It's gender neutral, so that part was decent. We'll definitely be back for those assorted donuts (cinnamon & sugar, powdered & regular sugar). read more

Food was very good. I've been here twice. The first time I got the giant Waffle sandwich, I believe it's called the wafflewich and the second time I had the eggs Benedict. Both were very exceptional in taste, and a large amount of home fries were also supplied with the meal. Meal sizes appear to be very plentiful, and prices seem very fair for the taste of the food and the amount. I will definitely be going again :) read more

This place was a cute little hole in the wall kinda place. My fiancé and I swung through on our way home to Ohio. I got the two eggs with toast and home fries and it was delicious. Perfect amount of food. Friendly and good service. It was pretty drafty toward the door but we just had the unfortunate luck of sitting there lol! The diner was fantastic! If going through Utica we will definitely be stopping through! read more

My husband sent my a text this morning saying I should go see this place because it has the best breakfast around! So my daughter and I decided to give it try. We loved the atmosphere and the service. That was our welcoming to the restaurant. Our waitress was super nice and made our stay a very pleasant one. The menus came and we could not believe the affordable prices for what the dishes have. We decided to order couple of different dishes so we can share. The orders came and omg! I was speechless. Flavors were so amazing! Huge portions! We could not finished them thought. But we tried! I definitely recommend this amazing breakfast place!! read more

My new girlfriend and I went to a wedding in Utica. With an early start, no time for breakfast and two hungry teenagers we began our road trip from Albany. Upon arrival we "Yelped" diners and found Craylee's. We grabbed a quick bite to eat and enjoyed our meals, the friendly atmosphere and staff's personalities were perfect. It wasn't until returning the following morning for breakfast did we realize what a great family owned business we had found. Space is limited and the people of Utica obviously know the quality of the food and service here as it was standing room only. The friendly staff makes every adjustment possible to get as many people seated and fed. In conclusion based on my experience, I would highly recommend Craylee's if you are in the Utica area. read more

The service was great, super friendly staff but the veggie breakfast scramble was the worst I've ever had. The vegetables tasted old and soggy, there was hardly any egg and just a ton of pre-shredded cheese you buy in a bag. The only decent part of the meal was the toast, which was very disappointing given how highly rated this place was on Yelp. Unfortunately won't be going back. read more

I love this breakfast spot. Recent New find on our end. Fried dough on Sunday's but mimosas served on the daily. There's seating but also a breakfast bar area. They have a large menu with daily specials. I've had the cinnamon raisin French toast as well as sausage, eggs, hash browns, and coffee. All was very good and it's SO inexpensive. The ladies that work here are also very nice and friendly and welcoming. Before you even sit down they pour you a coffee. We met the owners one day at a different restaurant and they told us about their breakfast spot and gave us a card. We paid them a visit and the rest is history. read more

We had a great breakfast here. It was a bit of wait as the locals obviously know it's a good spot to eat. We ordered the fried dough as a warm up and we were glad we did. It was warm, greasy and good. The breakfast portions are huge. We had a giambotta and pancakes. Both were prepared well and were filling. It was definitely worth the wait. read more

Heading west on the turnpike, and yelped a place for breakfast. Craylee's popped up and we diverted a few miles to the downtown. Totally worth it! We parked right in front, and the owner greeted us as we entered! She was quick with the service, and we had a pleasant conversation. Two of us ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, and one of us ordered the Omelet with Hash. Both were delicious, and very reasonably priced! The sausage gravy was very good! I definitely recommend this place! It's worth leaving the toll road! read more

I ordered chicken and waffles w home fries and a giambotta. The chicken tasted like banquet chicken(you know from a box). The home fries, potatoes were raw. The giambotta was ok but it tasted like the sausage in it was about to go bad. So I couldn't eat it. I ordered take out. No condiments ie a little syrup (for the waffle) hot sauce/ketchup no utensils/napkins In the bag. read more

This place is incredible. We came to Utica for a wedding and found this gem a few blocks from our hotel. We had the country fried steak and the chicken and waffles and both were absolutely amazing. The country fried steak comes over a amount biscuit with sausage gravy and was soooo good. I had the chicken and waffles and I have to say, the chicken was the best fried chicken I've ever had and the waffle was the best waffle I've ever had. My goodness, please visit this place. Also our bill was$25 so it's a great spot if you're looking for an inexpensive breakfast. read more

Came for breakfast with my husband in the early morning. There were plenty of empty tables since it wasn't busy at all. This is one of those great local spots that should become a legend. When you walk in you feel like family; host & staff were sweet, attentive, and just made us feel so welcome! Then the food was even better! So delicious!! I had the old timers Italian omelette (pictured below) and it was all good I couldn't stop eating, an amateur would not be able to finish it, but I'm a professional foodie, so I took care of business. My wife had a breakfast dish that was even bigger than mine, the sauce and peppers in it were fabulous! And it was gluten free, she loved it! It was worth coming two miles off the thruway for! Stopped in this place on a Saturday morning. Honestly probably wouldn't pick this place just by driving by it, as it looks like a normal storefront. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. Some of our table got Giambrottes while my fiancé got the ginormous waffle sandwich! Everyone ate almost all of their food which can attest to how good it tasted! We were with someone who have Celiac's (allergy to gluten). Our waitress immediately knew which parts of the the meal to leave off and which ingredients were gluten free. I would suggest this place to others who have allergies. We did have wait a while to order as well as get our meal. May not be the ideal place to go if you need to eat in a hurry but if you have time it is definitely worth the trip! read more

We opened just little over a year ago and love serving the locals as well as the travelers..I’m a single mother, which is where my restaurant name came from, Christian & Haylee makes Craylee’s! Any other time, if you are not a regular, this place might not be for you. I've been here several times with mixed experiences. The last time I was there was a Thursday in the summer of 2024. My husband, brother and I were excited to find seats at the bar and order dinner. The bartender was a short blonde woman and there was a male bar back. The bartender did not acknowledge us for over 15 minutes. We were actively looking at the menu on our phones and talking about what we wanted to try and attempted to make eye contact with her as she walked by us with no luck. She didn't even say "I will be right with you", literally no interaction. She was very friendly with everyone else around us seeming to know exactly what they were drinking and happy to get it for them. We left as we felt very unwelcome there and ended up having excellent service down the street at Lukin's.

Coffee, however, was not their strongest item. One nice touch is that water is free and self-serve, which is always appreciated. It can get crowded inside on Saturdays, and since there is no outdoor seating, the moderate ambient noise from other customers makes it less ideal for long conversations or quiet chats. Doug, the owner, was friendly and genuinely eager to help when I had an issue using my $5 off "cupcake points." Although he was not able to resolve it immediately, he did eventually figure it out, so I will be using the coupon on my next visit. We frequent Craylee's and swear to others that it is the BEST place in the Utica area to go for breakfast. I always order the giambotta but nix the peppers and add mushrooms and tomatoes instead. The portions are HUGE and the food is amazing. We love every single waitress we've had the pleasure of meeting and the owner is such a sweet human!
