Any other time, if you are not a regular, this place might not be for you. I've been here several times with mixed experiences. The last time I was there was a Thursday in the summer of 2024. My husband, brother and I were excited to find seats at the bar and order dinner. The bartender was a short blonde woman and there was a male bar back. The bartender did not acknowledge us for over 15 minutes. We were actively looking at the menu on our phones and talking about what we wanted to try and attempted to make eye contact with her as she walked by us with no luck. She didn't even say "I will be right with you", literally no interaction. She was very friendly with everyone else around us seeming to know exactly what they were drinking and happy to get it for them. We left as we felt very unwelcome there and ended up having excellent service down the street at Lukin's.

We found this little gem and holy toledo did we we strike gold. First of all, the hostess was super nice and greeted us right away even though she was clearly busy and hustling. We chose to sit outside at a picnic table to soak up the beautiful weather. The outside is fun with brightly painted picnic tables and murals on the building. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and offered great suggestions. She was great and we really enjoyed interacting with her. We started with rum punches which were made with freshly squeezed juice and they were out of this world. We shared the "everything" wings which were crispy and that sauce was delicious. We were tempted to lick the sauce off the plate. We refrained so we didn't get strange looks. I had the Kimchi Reuben which is made with house made kimchi I might add. My husband got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. We both opted for Poutine Fries for our sides. Guys, this food was unique and spectacular. I'm just bummed it's 3 hours from home! But I'll definitely make an effort to be back.

There was some sort of drama between the two waitresses, who clearly didn't like each other. We sat ourselves per the signs directions. Our server had pep, personality & a quick sense of humor... I did not catch her name. Food coming out was a bit slow. Have patience. I was served quite possibly the fluffiest, lightest, tastiest FRESH & HOT vegetarian omelet ( no peppers sub onions ) a perfectly cooked hardy omelet. The cheese was a "3 cheese blend". The edges of this omelet were perfectly "crisped " cheeses. I highly recommend stoping by for an enjoyable omelet experience. Also, while this omelet was slow in delivery, the care, pride & love taken to create this were more then apparent, when this eye popping omelet was STILL steaming hot 10 minutes into dining in it. I eat slowly as well. Be PATIENT, take a look around the staff in hustling. Well worth the wait!! I would drive up here from Ithaca for a TRULY excellent breakfast! Worth the wait. Great waitstaff. Hustling ASS! You could hear the noises of a BUSY kitchen. Having been in the BOH for 30 years & an expieranced vendor you know those noises. HIGHLY reccommed. Their menu consists of delicious American flair options. I truly don't think you could go wrong with any appetizer or entree of your choosing. For our starter we ordered the fried meatballs, fried cheese curds and the tomato & burrito plate. Every single dish was wonderful! For our entrees we chose the chicken katsu and their scallops. The chicken katsu was flavorful, juicy, breaded perfectly and topped with the most delicious sauce I've ever had on a chicken sandwich. My dinner date stated the scallops were cooked to perfection! We ended our evening with dessert & cocktails and as you can imagine from this review they were also very delicious! I would also like to highlight our waitress Mia. She was very attentive, helpful and extremely kind. The entire staff were phenomenal! Manager included.

There was some nice tables outside too but it was a bit cold. The staff was seriously killing it for how busy it was and doing it with a smile. I started with a absolutely delicious iced apple butter latte. For my meal I was looking for a combo of sweet and savory not realizing how generously large the portions were for the price (which is amazing). Needless to say I took quite a bit home. I had the breakfast pizza with added vegetables and the "Made in Utica Crepe" which came with a whole freaking cannoli on top.... it was one of the favorite breakfasts I have ever had anywhere. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals and different coffees at well. If you are not looking to dine in you can order simple pastries from the vast case or coffees to go. I took home some cream puffs for my family which were delicious and large. Cant wait to come back here again and again when I am in town!

Initially discovered Knead to Eat Bakery & Cafe, located at 53 Franklin St in Utica, while ordering…read moreon DoorDash, and later visited in person because of the great food. The café is located right next to Nancy Ford Photography. It can be a bit difficult to spot due to limited visibility, but parking itself is not an issue. There are shared slanted parking spots in front with neighboring businesses, as well as additional parking available behind the restaurant, which is convenient once you know it is there. The interior is hip, bright, and welcoming. Seating is somewhat limited, but despite that, we were always able to find a place to sit without having to wait. The space feels modern and casual, suitable for a relaxed breakfast or brunch. The food was good overall and service was fast. We ordered the Pancake Board, Spin Art, and a veggie omelette. The Spin Art was my favorite. It was soft, flavorful, and melted in the mouth. The Pancake Board was extremely well executed and fun to share, and the veggie omelette was solid. Coffee, however, was not their strongest item. One nice touch is that water is free and self-serve, which is always appreciated. It can get crowded inside on Saturdays, and since there is no outdoor seating, the moderate ambient noise from other customers makes it less ideal for long conversations or quiet chats. Doug, the owner, was friendly and genuinely eager to help when I had an issue using my $5 off "cupcake points." Although he was not able to resolve it immediately, he did eventually figure it out, so I will be using the coupon on my next visit. Overall, this is a solid local spot with good food, efficient service, and a welcoming vibe. Recommended, especially if you plan ahead for peak weekend hours. Keep up the good work, Knead to Eat Bakery & Cafe.

Tons of homeless near the local bus station. Unfortunate problem for the hotel. The national guard is also staying there working at a local prison due to staffing issues at local prisons. Sandwiches were OK but were mainly bread and lettuce with very little bacon. Restaurant was not busy but we waited a long time for our food and had to ask about our food. Wait staff were friendly and attentive and came over several times to refill our drinks and make sure we had what was needed. This is a diner but one thing we liked in the past was the outdoor seating and holiday decor. Deck was closed as it was in need of repairs and no holiday decor.
