I've sat on this review for a week trying to decide if I wanted to share a not-so-flattering experience. However, if there is a chance that Swifty's management may read this, along with fellow diners, it may be helpful for the future. The overall experience, food, and service was good. Clearly, this place and its 2 sister locations know how to be successful. But what we experienced could either be because a rogue chef or location manager is trying to cut corners - or - it could be the philosophy of the company to try and nickel-and-dime the customer to reduce costs and take advantage of those who won't notice. My boys and I ordered 20 wings to start, my oldest had a burger to follow, and my younger really wanted to focus on wings, so only ordered fries. I had the. Cheeseburger wrap with onion rings and coleslaw. Wings: crispy, tasty, and really good blue cheese. BUT...when they came to the table, the baskets looked light. So... WE COUNTED THEM. ONLY 17. My (as the menu clearly states) "half pound burger in a wrap" was probably 1/4 of a pound light. Wait til you see the photo. So, all the good service and reasonably good food was ruined by Swifty's trying to either take advantage of customers incrementally hundreds of times a day (order by order) - or - they have a location chef and manager who tolerate food leaving their kitchen that is not as advertised or up to the standard which allowed them to open 3 locations. It's one or the other. Will we be back? I don't know. We really wanted this to be great. We live in the Northwest Corner of CT, my son goes to college in Rochester, this location is literally (to the mile) half-way between. We make the trip weekly due to his athletics schedule. We wanted to be regulars. Will probably look elsewhere next time. 2 stars for the front of the house service. It was excellent. And the blue cheese dressing. It was fantastic. If you go - count your wings and make sure what the menu says is on your plate. read more

We went to Swifty's for an early dinner on a Monday night and had no issue getting a table. It was nice and quiet and not too busy. I ordered the fried haddock sandwich and thought it was fine; my biggest complaint about it was that the bun was way too big. My dining companion got the Santa Fe wrap and enjoyed it. I also got the coleslaw but would recommend fries over that. Overall, entrees were fine but ordering the buffalo chicken rolls as an appetizer is a MUST! They were phenomenal and I already want them again. Service was quick and friendly. I'd go there again to enjoy happy hour with some apps for sure! read more

Sat at the bar at 3 in the afternoon. Restaurant was essentially empty. Order a beer and a burger medium rare. The bartender gave he the beer and hit I. Her phone. After 20 minutes I started to worry, and she was still on her phone. I finished my beer and asked about my burger. "OH" and she ran back and brought it to me. The top bun was a rock from the heat lamp, and the bottom bun was soaked with juice and bbq sauce, as well as the fries. I cut the burger in half to reveal a well done hockey puck. I refused the burger and wasn't waiting for them to mess something wise up so I just took the check. $6 FOR A UTUCA CLUB???? Hell no I'm not going back to this place. It's a cute pub with good food and fun vibes. It would be a fun place to watch a game. Our waiter was awesome, it was like we had our own stand up comedian who was a foodie! Came in asked for table for two we were sat all the way tucked by bar alone, bar was busy but our beer came Out so fast we were like great perfect service nope we sat down at 1:56 first beer came out at 2pm it's currently 245 and still have not been asked to take my Order. Pretty crappy as we came from out of town CT to be exact. We understand bar was busy but dangggg could someone have taken our order we ended up cashing out for our two beers and leaving. First time visit. We were on the bar side of this bar/restaurant venue. About 8 people at the bar and we (2) were the only people at a table. After 10 or so minutes I went to the bartender to order beers as we had not yet been approached. I then told her we were ready to order food. We ordered a sausage/mushroom pizza and after a few minutes she returned to tell that they were out of sausage. Huh! We subbed ham and the pizza arrived 10-15 minutes later. Then, we had to ask for plates, silverware and napkins. Probably our fault for not asking for them when ordering the pizza. Pizza was ok, not great for sure, and not hot. Fair food and lousy service is a bad combination. We aren't local so there was no chance of us coming back anyway. Tonight's experience would've clinched it if otherwise. read more

We were in town staying in Utica for a trip to Cooperstown tomorrow (we didn't reall know quite how far it was). four of us had great burgers, rueben sandwhich and shepards pie, all very good. The taco salad was huge and well liked. The beer selection is pretty good with lots on tap and the wine list while a bit limited is very reasonable, not too many places have $30 bottles. An unassuming but go to casual bar/restaurant in Utica. We were in town visiting for a hockey game and decided to check Swifty's before the game and after. My friends and I ordered cocktails, beers, fries, mozz sticks, pizza and salad. The pizza wasn't the best but for drinking it made do, the rest of the food was pretty good and the drinks were 8/10. We saw plenty of locals and the space was ample for those looking to dine or "party". Service was generally friendly and attentive. Overall I would recommend this spot! read more

My wife and I ate here this evening. I had a Cobb salad, my wife had grilled salmon. Ally S was our server. The Cobb salad was well prepared with grilled chicken instead of deli meats. Came in for lunch with a group of friends and thought it was really good. The service was top notch with our server having a good knowledge of both the food and drink menus. The food was really good as well. Nice place. They specialize in pizza and a cool and varied sandwich menu. The one drawback about their location is that it's right on Genesee St in Utica so while they have outdoor seating - you're seeing and hearing cars go by. I would recommend with the warning that outdoor seating probably isn't that great of an option. read more

Every time I go, their pizza never ever disappoints!! This last time, I got red and ricotta sauce cheese pizza with jalapeños and onions. They made a mistake and put fried onions instead of red onions, and comped us for the drinks and gave a side of red onions! It was very nice of them. Surprisingly incredible. I was Utica and wanted something to eat before nightfall. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and we're considering it's a sports bar. Wow! I had flown into Utica from the west coast the day before, and I hadn't eaten much in the past 24 hours. I was ravenous, and while my rental EV was charging out behind Munson Williams Proctor Museum, I grabbed my phone to look for a place nearby to eat. Almost immediately, Swifty's came up. An easy five-minute walk later, and I was there. It was a Sunday, it was fall, and a Bills game was playing on every screen. Ordered a burger and a beer (many choices for both)... and had an amazing experience. Yes, I was starving, but that burger ranks with the best I've ever eaten: a half-pound of beef, bacon, onion rings AND grilled onions, tomato, lettuce... stacked tall. Hand-cut fries on the side, which I liberally doused with malt vinegar. The woman tending bar was friendly without being intrusive, the game was engaging, and for the first time in 24 hours I finally relaxed. Highly recommended. read more

It was a just a short walk from the museum. We love burgers and decided to order a grilled burger on a toasted Brioche roll with lettuce, sliced tomato and red onion. I had the sweet potato fries and my wife had the onions rings. Excellent!!! I had an Octoberfest lager. it wasn't the Genesee. My wife had the Smithwick's Irish Red. Both excellent. Swifty's is easily one of my favorite places to go for drinks and food in Utica. They never disappoint here!! They have outdoor seating, a full bar, and a great menu with so many options. Some of my favorite things to get here are: For appetizers: The Buffalo chicken wing dip, buffalo chicken rolls, sweet potato fries, and Irish nachos!! All amazing. Meals: I've had the Reuben sandwich, crab cakes, and salads. But the best thing to get here is a burger. They're amazing. I always get the burger with mushrooms and red peppers on it. It's just too good. The burgers are ginormous and come with a side of your choice. I always get sweet potato fries because they are bomb. The food is always great and the service is fast and friendly. They have a good cocktail list too. You won't be disappointed! read more

Upon arrival we were greeted by the hostess and we're given the option to choose our seating. We choose to sit outdoors and the service from that point on only elevated. Waitress was very polite and attentive in between running from here tables inside to our table sitting outside. Food was typical bar fare nothing extraordinary. Let down. Went to Swifty's for a quick dinner, didn't feel like a burger, ordered chicken tenders as an alternative - so lame. Have you eaten McNuggets? Those are better. and cheaper. The chicken tenders I was served were finger shaped frozen mechanically separated meat product. So disappointing I couldn't even finish them. Granted it is a bar and I was expecting bar food, but these were such a low quality product management should be ashamed to serve them. I've had a burger at the Delmar location and enjoyed it. Service was friendly at both places. Atmosphere good. Just don't order the tenders. read more

Went in with my daughters for dinner before an event. The staff was very friendly, the kids meals were fairly typical. The steak salad was very underwhelming, for around $18 you received an ordinary salad with a small piece of low quality, gristley meat that was hard to cut through and even harder to eat.
