Alrighty yelpers, I think that Cravings maybe JUST maybe my new favorite place to eat in New Braunfels. The first time I came in with my boyfriend was right when they opened so of course we had wonderful service lol. The second time I came in it was lunch time and it was PACKED, nowhere to sit inside. It was a little irritating that there wasn't anywhere to sit, except outside, which normally I would be all yay for but it is too cold for that nonsense right now. Cravings really has anything that I may be craving haha. I got the something wills the first time that people claim sounds weird but I loved it!! But also I love peanutbutter a lot hehe the second time I got a mini plain jane withou mustard... OH MY GOODNESS THAT WAS SOOOOO FREAKING GOOD!! The only thing is that I wish that their chicken salad sandwich was bigger! HAHAHAHA it is so GOOD! Their buns are SO DANK, I think they are yeast rolls, not sure but their bread kinda has a sweet taste to it. The firecrackers are their signature side, WONDERFUL dipped in any of their soups oh and they have kettle cooked chips!! I LOVE KETTLECOOKED CHIPS, these as well taste marvelous dipped in the soup. So the only downfall is seating around lunch time, they close at 3pm, andddd that they do not give more food...but I guess that is a good thing. THEY GIVE HONEST PROPORTIONS...they don't supersize it. They definitely more healthy geared. It's not bad - everything tasted fine, but the portions are small (my husbands Philly cheese steak was about the size of a hot dog bun) and the Greek salad was very minimal - lettuce, feta, cucs and olives. I added chicken (cost extra - I got about 5oz). It needs onions and tomatoes and a better dressing (Greek dressing is not balsamic vinaigrette). My son's grilled cheese and fruit (which cost extra to upgrade from Ruffles potato chips) was a decent size, but included a 12 oz drink which are all sodas or ice tea. Food was amazing. Everything is freshly made. I gave 3 stars because the place needs someone to clean and sanitize. You have to touch all over the register screen even with Apple Pay. If you ask for me to fill out a tip after using Apple Pay, my tip is don't let everyone touch on the screen time after time. That is so disgusting. The tables were full of crumbs and sticky, nothing is getting cleaned between customers and the bathroom is around the back. So you have to touch the dirty door to go out there and the bathroom door which is also gross. I used a paper towel so I didn't have to touch the door but still most don't. Then you eat with the same hands and get sick from either that or the dirty tables. Just wish they'd follow basic hygiene for the restaurant. And not just one nasty rag cleaning all tables either like some other places. I'd give this place 5 stars if it was cleaner. If you're not worried about cleanliness or putting other people's crumbs or bathroom germs in your mouth then you won't have an issue at all. read more

The ranch dressing is very smooth with a great taste which hints to the fact it might be homemade !! I am from out of town and found this on Yelp while doing some antique hunting. My first positive clue was a totally full parking lot at 1215 on a Tuesday. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and chose a pesto pasta side. The food was good and really fresh. Line was out the door by 1230. If I had it to do again, I'd just order a plate of the cold pesto pasta, it was that good. Seating space is tight so it appears lots of people order ahead and take out. Really, really good. Just off the vortex (round-about) in Downtown New Braunfels is this quaint, locally owned sandwich shop. We were a group of 11 people strolling in for lunch at 2pm (when they closed at 3pm) after a long day on the water and the way they took care of us really didn't make it seem like there was any rush to kick us out. The set-up is simple, there are two large chalk boards behind the register with their sandwich, salad and side offerings. The variety is definitely there - sandwiches range from Roast Beef, Tuna or Chicken salad to a Vegetarian sub or their most popular, the Envy. Sides were also tasty - I recommend the pesto pasta salad but my fam also got the gazpacho (soup of the day) and really enjoyed it. Don't forget to save room for dessert! There were plenty of homemade cupcakes and slices of cakes & pies to choose from. Key Lime pie was my favorite with the Red Velvet cupcake coming in a close second. The woman behind the counter was so appreciative of our large party coming in & supporting her business. The few times I've gotten to-go food from Cravings, I've been less impressed each time. The chicken salad sandwich is overly done in the spices. It seems like they try too hard to differentiate themselves from other places. It's chicken salad, less is more. The same goes for their "famous" Envy sandwich, not sure what the "Secret sauce" is but it clashes with the flavors and ruins the sandwich. I have tried them over and over again because everyone in New Braunfels raves about this place but it's just not up to my standards. Also, don't waste your money on soup during the winter. It's water with flavoring. It would behoove them to add a little bit of flour/milk to thicken it up a bit but what do I know? Save your money and go elsewhere. *The "Firecrackers" (aka spicy saltines) are super yummy but you can make them at home as well for pennies of the price. Quite possibly the best sandwich I ever had. I'm in New Braunfels, TX for the week on business and was looking for some local places to get some quality food. The town is saturated with fast food chains and restaurants, none of which really speak for the character of the people that live here. I wanted something from the locals that would leave me a memory of my visit. So I found Cravings, one of the few sandwich shops in my immediate area. This was a place a little bit off of I-35. It's a small place with limited parking, but it's cozy and the people were extremely friendly. I ordered the Envy sandwich, seeing as a lot of the reviews here said it was the best sandwich available (and the huge sign on the building that said 'Home of the Envy'). How do I argue witih that? The Envy is a turkey sandwich with cheese, homemade bun, spinach, and a secret sauce of some kind. It was absolutely delicious. It was probably not the most diet-conscious option (bread looked like it was grilled with some butter and I believe the sauce had some kind of mayo base), but I did not care at that moment. It was sweet, it was tasty, it was fresh, and the portion was fairly large. The turkey and cheese were grilled in such a way that you could tell the owners cared about what I thought of the sandwich - it wasn't just slopped on the grill then tossed on the sandwich. It was almost like their piece of art. I elected to get the cold cucumber soup on the side, which is outside my comfort zone. I'm usually not a fan of cold soup, but it was creamy and pretty tasty. I probably won't get it again though, only because I don't enjoy cold soup as much as others, but it's definitely worth a try if you're into that thing. My meal cost a little over $10 with a drink but it was well worth it. You can go to another place and maybe save a few bucks but you'd be sacrificing quality. There is a drive-thru window if you are in a rush but running in for a to-go order is not bad either. I've had their Cravings Club and Chicken Pesto in the past and both were really good. It was steady i ordered my food they pulled me around after a pretty long wait i was bought the wrong order ( thank god i checked it before i left) So i had to go inside to get it Strait. Its pretty small but they had alot of employees working well running around with there heads cut off no one was at front counter after a couple minutes a girl noticed me called out to the back for someone to help me a lady finally came up front while chewing food i get it everyone has to eat but if you have customers that have long wait times for there food in the middle of there lunch rush you would think all hands would have been on deck . After waiting another 12 minuets for my correct order my lunch break was over . A simple i apologize for the wait would have been nice i am writing this review cause i did not see anyone that was in charge it was very chaotic .
