I am leaving my review for Central Park Cafe here because I couldn't find Central Park Cafe when I searched in Yelp. The person that told me about the cafe said it used to be Amy and Cathy's. I tried it because I need a quick lunch before a 1:00 meeting. The location is down town Seguin near the courthouse but if you didn't know it was there it may be hard to find. It is A small quaint sandwich shop. Very friendly staff and a simple menu. I offer the Chicken Bacon and Cheese Sandwich with honey mustard instead of the craft mayo that it came with. I was a little disappointed because I assumed it was going to be a chicken breast with slices of bacon. ( I should have read the description). However it was a combination of diced chicken, onions, and diced bacon, smothered in melted cheese. It was actually a great sandwich!! The flavor was good and it was quite satisfying. I plan to go back and try other sandwiches after my morning meetings in Seguin. Great little find. read more

The cutest and quickest little soup and sandwich shop on Main Street in downtown Seguin! We got our food super hot and fresh, and it only took MINUTES. Definitely came before the 12:30rush because after that the whole store was filled with people and seating was filled. The lady was so nice, told us we could split our sandwich since we weren't that hungry. GOOD portions and easily splittable for 2 girls on a quick lunch! For $13+ got a drink, chips and a large sandwich. No complaints at all! Customer service was incredibly friendly. read more

I loved the Central Park club sandwich, was served on a soft and light wheat bun, the cheese was melted and it was warm and fresh. I usually don't eat a whole sandwich but I ate all of this. It came with a bag of chips and a drink, $34 for 2 people. **Note: I would have given this place 5 stars because we both were very happy with the food, the seating, and the service when ordering. We tipped $3 but when done eating, I was told I couldn't use the bathroom due it being "closed because she just mopped". They close at 2pm, it was 1:28pm. I just ate my meal and wanted to wash my hands. My husband used the restroom before ordering and stated it was literally 2 feet wide and 2 feet long. The size of a broom closet at most, also I'm not going to pee on the floor!! So in other words, I deducted a whole star for that. They should know if a food inspector came in, they would fail for serving food and not providing a bathroom to customers. read more

Third time I've been disappointed in this restaurant with the new owner. They've quit using real cheese on my favorite turkey sandwich. The asparagus wrap had 1.5 stalks of asparagus. Then this last time, the portobello sandwich had baby bellas on it, maybe a total Of two thinly sliced baby bellas. Pretty sure it wasn't a real Ciabatta bun. I complained before digging in, but my concern was not addressed. I won't be back and I suspect Amy and Cathy's won't be with us much longer. read more

AWFUL!! ordered a turkey sandwich on wheat bread with American cheese and lettuce. Got turkey with white bread no cheese tomato, pickles, mayo and mustard. who screws up this bad? Worst part is that the paper attached says exactly what i ordered. This is an excellent place to get a quick lunch while shopping in Seguin. They serve really quick considering it was pretty busy and obviously the food is made to order. I had the ultimate Turkey sandwich and my wife had the ham. The bread was excellent and the veggies were fresh and tasty. The prices are reasonable considering this is a high end sandwich shop and not a fast food sandwich chain. Will definitely eat here again. read more

We shared a fish sandwich that the cashier recommended, and added 2 cups of tomato basil soup, and one ice tea. Our bill came to $40 with the added credit card surcharge and a tip. The sandwich took over 20 minutes to arrive After 15 minutes I went up to the counter and was advised they were making tartar sauce. The sandwich itself once it finally arrived was pretty pathetic looking on a small ciabatta roll, just a drizzle of some sort of sauce or butter, one thin little filet of tilapia, and about 1/4 cup of slaw. It was the furthest thing from a $15 sandwich I'd ever seen. The soup was served in little 8 oz styrofoam containers with cheap plastic spoons and one pack of stale saltines each, which they boldly charge $7 a piece for a tiny cup of soup. The pickle chips, all 3 of them served on the side were tasty, or we were just that hungry. Every thing tasted great! It really did but I do not think Amy and Kathy are financially able to provide a fair product for the prices they are charging. We probably would have just asked for our money back and left, but to be fair the taste was there, especially in the sandwich. It was obvious they make good food they just are not able to charge fair prices for what they put out. We love supporting local (especially women) owned businesses but we do not like getting ripped off and that is how we feel about this place. They are charging premium prices for an absurdly small serving. We just can not recommend this place, sorry. read more

I just started working here in Seguin and it's amazing how many Mexican restaurants there are here. There aren't too many other options aside from your chain restaurants. It was comforting to find a locally owned sandwich shop that offers home made style sandwiches and desserts that are above average in such a small community. I met both Amy and Cathy and they were very inviting and courteous. The food was awesome. I ordered the half sandwich and soup special and I wish that I would have ordered a whole sandwich until I tried the potato soup and at that point I was happy with my decision. Both were absolutely amazing. Very well prepared and very tasty. I will definitely be going back. I strongly recommend giving them a try if you're ever in the area. read more

It's important to know this is a very tiny restaurant. If you don't snag a tiny table indoors you can brave the Texas heat and sit out on the sidewalk. There's also a pecan tree-shaded park square across the street, complete with fountain and park benches, where you can sit and enjoy all the tasty sandwiches offered here. Today I tried the chicken pesto sandwich. I felt like it was the most filling of any of the sandwiches I've tried here. I didn't really need to open the chips. It will definitely satisfy your need for pizza. I usually get the chicken salad sandwich on croissant. The chicken is very minced and tastes fantastic. Can't go wrong with sandwiches right? We came into this place, and the store probably has about a 8 tables that seat at most 4 people. We were a group of 5 so we just pulled seats togetherand sat outside. Be mindful if you're coming with a big party cause you likely will not fit in the restaurant! Instead of ordering a sandwich, I opted for a half sandwich and a small bowl of soup for the same price. The Italian sausage tortellini was amazing!! It wasnt too salty and had a lot of tortellinis in it! And as for the Rueben sandwich itself, it was a decent size, but a bit smaller than I had wanted. Right in downtown Seguin, you can grab a sandwich and sit in the town square by the fountain for a super relaxing break from a long car ride. A nice young woman took our order at the counter and we chose to sit near the window to people watch (they have outside seating too). Our order was ready in no time, my pimento cheese sandwich was toasted and the pimento cheese was savory instead of sweet and it came with a bag of potato chips and sweet pickles. My cream of asparagus soup was my favorite, the asparagus chunks were generous and tender and the broth was light. My friend gobbled up her ham it up sandwich and shrimp and corn soup. This place was wonderful! Walked from the courthouse to this sandwich shop downtown, ordered a turkey sandwich and sat outside at their street-side seating overlooking the park. My sandwich was awesome - didn't expect it to be a hot sandwich. All sandwiches come with pickles and chips. I wasn't a fan of the sweet pickles. After looking at their website I was worried about pricing (they price in bulk on the website) but it was very affordable. My sandwich was $6.99. We sat outside because it is very small inside. There is a pet grooming store a few doors down so lots of doggies walked by as we ate, which I liked. read more

Cute little place and very nice staff. Said it was my first time and she was happy to make some suggestions. I got the chicken-n-pesto that has 2 kinds of pesto, basil and red pepper, on ciabatta. It was so nice and tasty and the pestos were great. Also got a small side pecan house salad and the greens were fresh and nice portion of pecans. The dressing was also pretty great.
