Brian did a terrific job on all of the smaller, handyman-type jobs and was also able to tear out the old, rotting ceiling of the storage area, remediate the mold, and install a new ceiling that safely redirects the water flow along with a small dehumidifier and water pump to keep the area dry. You are very fortunate." We could not agree more. BER transformed our 130-year-old home with extraordinary skill and care. They stripped the old shingles and clapboards, applied multiple layers of protective barrier to the original walls, and installed new state-of-the-art composite clapboards and cedar shingles. The bottom course of shingles was individually notched to replicate the original detail, and the dentil molding was reconstructed by hand. The team also completely rebuilt our bays in PVC that, once painted, is indistinguishable from wood. Every line, corner, and transition is precise. They worked through extraordinary conditions--from 10-degree winter days to 100-degree summer heat--without ever compromising their focus, craftsmanship, or attention to detail. The sink was coming off the wall. It was unusable. We decided to replace not only sink, by old tile floor, toilet, mirror and lights. Tom answered all the questions and concerns before the job started. He found a small vanity sink that fit our bathroom. There were not too many options when it came to tiles, so seeing a few more options before deciding would have been nice. The job took 4 days instead of 5. It moved along at a good pace. Overall, it was a positive experience. I really enjoy the final results of our half bathroom remodel.

He has a closely-knit team of trusted partners, and that contributes to the consistent quality and speed of work. You could pursue a cheaper option like Home Depot, but they make no guarantee on their subcontractors' expertise, and what they can do is extremely limited (structural changes are a nonstarter). I never had reason to doubt him throughout the long process to get a building permit in Brookline. Frico guided me through every step and town regulation. The project completion was delayed due to unexpected structural issues, however Frico worked closely with a strucural engineer and architect and ultimately impressed the bulding inspector every visit with design and structural integrity. Frico is a very good listener and love to educate customers to make informed decisions and our home looks beautiful! Frico was always available to answer questions and address concerns from start to finish. All his employees were professional and courteous. Octo Construction is a great company to do business with! They are prompt and timely and, as far as workmanship, they cannot be beat. I would recommend them over other construction companies in the Boston area.
