Boston Exterior Remodeling is as good as it gets. When the city inspector came to sign off on our project, he told us: "I was a contractor for 20 years before becoming an inspector, and you don't see superb work like this anymore. You are very fortunate." We could not agree more. BER transformed our 130-year-old home with extraordinary skill and care. They stripped the old shingles and clapboards, applied multiple layers of protective barrier to the original walls, and installed new state-of-the-art composite clapboards and cedar shingles. The bottom course of shingles was individually notched to replicate the original detail, and the dentil molding was reconstructed by hand. The team also completely rebuilt our bays in PVC that, once painted, is indistinguishable from wood. Every line, corner, and transition is precise. They worked through extraordinary conditions--from 10-degree winter days to 100-degree summer heat--without ever compromising their focus, craftsmanship, or attention to detail. Joe Danz oversaw the project closely from start to finish. He communicated warmly and consistently with the three homeowners in our building, accommodated additional requests fairly, and remained committed to the work until every detail was right. Our neighbors--including two architects--stopped to admire the workmanship as the project progressed. Our home has been restored to its original beauty with durable materials and craftsmanship that should last far beyond the current owners. We are deeply grateful to Joe and his outstanding team at Boston Exterior Remodeling. They exceeded our expectations in every way. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. Excellent communication, friendly, helpful, and trustworthy. Would highly recommend!

I asked Boston Exterior remodeling to replace 22 windows and replace siding on my house in Southborough MA. The work was done in a timely fashion-with frequent requests for payment-Cash only- at every step. The house looks great-on the outside! I was informed after the work was already underway that they wouldn't be doing the inside of windows. They also used windows not Energy Star rated for MA. So the interior of my house is a mess with unfinished windows- multiple plaster walls crumbling! They also replaced only two of the three outside lamps that were agreed upon-placed the storm doors back incorrectly and put molding over a couple of doors that was never requested. There was never a final walk through- and there were three screens placed which already had holes in them. My ignorance is the reason for most of these issues-I assumed the windows would have correct energy rating-I never knew that windows could be unfinished when you pay for replacement windows. I also got the impression that the final walk through by the Contractor would also finalize some of the "slush fund" money that was made available for any unexpected expenses. I did mention the defective screens and the missing lamp to site supervisor 'Luis". The owner of company never came out to check on work-Oh-just one more thing-the dumpster that I had to pay for? his guys brought trash from other work sites to fill it up! This all occurred summer 2024-I have been too occupied with medical issues to take any action on this -but really?! I just want others to be more cautious! read more

The house was looking pretty sad - the kind of house you might walk by and never even notice, or you might avert your eyes from the peeling paint and crumbling front steps and focus on the garden just to be polite. No more! The house actually looks larger-- for reals. The neighbors are all compliments. When you beautify your exterior, the whole neighborhood benefits. We loved everything about Joe's workmanship, attention to detail, professionalism, and his amazing team! We are thrilled with our job, which was a full exterior remodel. It wasn't cheap. I say, that's a GOOD thing. We got a job done right. When a couple things weren't quite to Joe's standard, he made it right. The team are all good people, his project manager, his siding team, his gutter guys... everyone. And we now have a relationship with this excellent company, who we hope to have back for a phase II outdoor space job. When Joe's team showed up, I was amazed at how quickly the house was stripped and wrapped. Other professionals including an architect affirmed to us that Joe is using the best materials and practice. Joe has done a number of houses in the area, and his work speaks for itself. He'll give you some addresses to go look at to see the finished product but also he has a new showroom to give you the ability to see and touch the finishes. All around we had an amazing experience and highly recommend if you're looking for excellent exterior design+build services. read more

Highly recommend if you are looking for excellent quality and peace of mind that you're project is in good hands. Joe and PM Luis did an excellent job meeting our condo's specific requirements for siding replacement, and went above and beyond to make sure the job was done well and within our budget. They kept us abreast of surprises as they came up, provided extras where they made sense (thanks for fixing that small basement roof!) and even dealt with a nudge of a neighbor with aplomb. This is definitely a case of you get what you pay for- Not the highest bid we received but certainly not the lowest, Joe answered all of our questions again and again and again, making sure we felt good and well educated about what the work would entail. Even the Biggest Karen in the Building (TM) was satisfied- which is saying something! We will be using Boston Exteriors again on future projects. read more

I find it increasingly rare these days, when you hire someone to do work on your home, that they actually live up to the "perfection" they all readily preach. My husband and I have become so frustrated with people who say they care, will give your job their all, and that they are "super picky" - yet, when the job is finished it is clear they are mostly talk (or at least our definition of "super picky" is waaay different from theirs). However, our experience with Luis and his crew at Boston Exterior Remodeling has been quite the opposite. Their work is top notch and near to perfection. When there were issues, they were sure to correct them and never hesitated to do so. Luis was fantastic at communicating; he is very professional and always warm and kind. He really made us feel as though he cared about our job, our home, and our family. His guys were unbelievable in their work ethic and stamina and were super pleasant to be around during the month plus that they were at our home. Bottom line - Luis and his crew receive our highest recommendation and we WILL hire them again, without a doubt. Because, I mean, look at our lovely "new" house, if it doesn't need a farm porch, then I don't know what does! Talk to you (hopefully) soon, Luis! ;) read more

Working with Joe and his crew on a whole exterior remodel of siding, roofing, windows and three porches was a delight! Joe understood what I wanted and made suggestions to make it better. His quote was fair and complete, no change orders or unforeseen expenses. Hi crew was very professional, polite and friendly! They worked hard and left the jobsite as neat as possible at the end of each day. I would highly recommend calling Joe at Boston Boston Exterior Remodeling for your project! read more

I am rating this business strictly on customer service and unresponsiveness. My home needs siding and I emailed a request for a quote on two occasions during this year, and not once did I receive a call back. Since then, I have received a quote from another company. read more

BER did all new siding for our single family in South Boston plus a new roof. I could not be happier with the results. They were very easy to work with, on time, professional. Most importantly the house looks amazing, great attention to detail and a step above most other siding projects I've seen in the neighborhood. I've had several people stop me outside the house to ask who did the work. A+. read more

We had vinyl siding installed on our house. 3 layers of underlayment painstakingly taken off. Absolutely fantastic job. We get compliments all the time read more

Reliable, Communicative, Nice Work, Fair Priced. Joe's team did our entire exterior (2 family home in Boston - large job). Only other thing I would add is that as a woman customer managing the job sometimes I feel that contractors don't listen or I get spoken down to (yes, I said it). I never felt that way with Joe and even others he has recommended to finish up odds and ends for the job. Always listened, offered great advise. Highly recommended. Thanks, Joe. read more

The BER team is awesome! Joe and his team worked with us on a full renovation of our exterior siding. Joe was patient and thoughtful in helping us determine the best product, Everlast Siding, and was great in partnering in coming up with a great design. He even had some awesome suggestions (copper trim) that really enhanced the look! The team is awesome and their work was clean, efficient, and considerate. We can't recommend Boston Exterior Remodeling enough! read more

If you are reviewing the many options and estimates regarding the exterior remodeling of your house, hire Boston Exterior and Joe Danz's team. Their experience, work ethic, and attention to detail is commendable. Boston Exterior transformed our modest Boston cape house built in 1940 and covered in old aluminum siding into a clean, handsome home. The Grayne shingle recommended by Joe gave our house a contemporary look at a reasonable price. The team worked efficiently from sunrise to sunset in a timely fashion. We had absolutely no complaints! Joe is smart, personable, respectful, but most importantly competent and honest. Our friends and family were impressed with the new look of our house. Boston Exterior did a nice job! read more

Response was awesome with great advice and hope I can use this company in the future.

I called this company due all the glowing reviews here on Yelp. We agreed on meeting on Tuesday November 14th to go over some options for siding on my home between 9:30 and 10. They never showed up and not only that never called nor emailed me to say why they missed the appointment. I'll add that the person I spoke to, I think his name was Joe, laid on a heavy sales pitch in which I was to sign a contract for the work today. Sorry, but I never sign a contract that fast for anything let alone a job that is in the tens of thousands of dollar range. I would like an estimate and then have some time to go over the options. I'm sure this company does fine work, I'm just not going to hire them due to not having the decency to bother phoning to cancel or reschedule. I have a life as well and waiting around for several hours this morning did not bode well for this companies rep. read more

We've done a roof and a siding & deck project with Joe & the team. Couldn't be happier. Responsive and in budget. When they leave for the day, everything is heat and clean. LOVE!! read more

Highly recommend! We recently finished a large exterior renovation (roof, siding, gutters) and are very happy with Boston Exterior Remodeling. A family member, in the trades, had seen their work on several job sites and recommended BER. I reached out to Joe and he was quick to respond. We found him knowledgeable, very easy to work with and Joe was happy to show us the work his crew had done in the area. We decided on Grayne siding. Joe's price for a new roof, siding and gutters was fair and stayed that way. There were no surprises. The roofing and siding crews were excellent. Joe was onsite regularly and very easy to communicate with. His foremen handled the day to day work very well. Excellent work, fair constant price and easy to work with. read more

Worked with the company on a full scale overhaul of our home's exterior (new cedar siding, trim, soffits, paint, gutters). The company's pricing was very reasonable (and stayed that way throughout) and we found the Joe was always willing to answer questions or address concerns promptly. We are very happy with the results! read more
