One can tell who has the attitude problem by reading the immature response of the restaurant owner. Interesting how there are so many other reviews that share the same sentiment of the lazy waitress with the horrible customer service. I would urge other guests to read what people are saying. We all can't be making up the SAME problem, but hey if really want to have a horrible dinner experience, please go and check for yourselves. Our group of 11 (6 adults and 5 children) visited Craft 47 in Goshen, NY after a day at Legoland. We had a reservation and informed them ahead of time that we were a large party. From the moment we arrived, the waitress seemed annoyed that we were there. There were no place settings on the table, and we had to ask for everything -- plates, utensils, napkins, water, etc. When one of the children accidentally spilled water, we asked for napkins. The waitress handed us a dirty rag and, when we asked for paper towels, told us to "go to the bathroom and get it yourself." We requested that the children's food be served first, but she refused, saying, "Everything will come when it comes." The children's portions were shockingly small -- about 10-15 pieces of pasta for a kids' meal -- and several children were still hungry afterward. The waitress never checked on us, never apologized, and showed zero courtesy throughout the meal. At the end, we were shocked to find a mandatory 20% gratuity automatically added to the bill, with no notice anywhere on the menu about this policy. When we questioned it, the waitress became extremely rude and even threatened to call the police if we didn't pay the full amount. We explained that we were unhappy with the service and willing to pay for the food, but she refused to remove the gratuity. The situation escalated unnecessarily, frightening our children. The waitress even made a racially insensitive remark, implying we didn't belong or didn't have to pay because of "where we came from." That was unacceptable and deeply offensive. We ultimately paid the full $420 just to end the ordeal and avoid upsetting our children further. When the police arrived (as she had called them), they confirmed it was a civil issue and that there was nothing criminal about our complaint -- exactly what we had told her from the start. This was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. Based on other reviews, it appears this same waitress has behaved similarly toward others. The management's decision to keep her employed reflects very poorly on the restaurant. If you value good service, respect, and basic courtesy, stay away from Craft 47. We road tripped all the way out to Goshen tonight to visit Craft 47 for a fun dinner and evening of pub trivia! Yes, my boyfriend and I (like many trash millennials) have become obsessed with trivia nights in recent times, especially those sponsored by Geeks Who Drink, a company that specializes in engaging and difficult Q&A's at bars and restaurants across the US. Whenever we travel, we love to log onto the Geeks Who Drink website and see where the next quiz takes place.. which led us to Goshen, NY, and Craft 47, an affordable and tasty eatery we may have not found or tried otherwise! Downtown Goshen is so cute, and we're definitely coming back here when it's not freaking freezing out! There are plenty of quaint shops and restaurants that dot the main area, and Craft 47, which is nearly tucked in an alleyway, is no exception! The restaurant is small but mighty, and features a menu comprised of New American comfort food, small plates, and pizza - so basically, there's something for everyone. True to form with upstate NY bar n' grills, everything's pretty affordable, too. A definite plus for us! The dining room has a cozy and homey vibe, with old movie photographs on the wall, a projection screen with kitschy TV shows playing, a generous and well-appointed bar with plenty of seating, and a faux fireplace, which I made sure we sat right next to! I never wanted to leave! Lots of food options here, so bring your friends! They are an "American tapas" restaurant, which is code for "small plates of elevated comfort food", so order a couple of things to try! We got the Deviled Eggs (eh.. not my fave), and the Soft Pretzels, which were INCREDIBLE. I wish there were more than two sticks to an order! They were soft, chewy, perfectly salted, and served with an addictive beer cheese/mustardseed dip. We're getting two orders of those next time! We also tried the Guacamole, which was fresh and light, the Crab Cakes (again, not my fave, but my boyfriend really enjoyed them), and the Cajun Pasta (a huge portion that was hearty, filling, and great for sharing). There are SO many choices on the menu, so I look forward to returning and trying all new items next time. As for the trivia, you absolutely need to come here for that! The quizmaster is hilarious, and even though the questions can be tough, you'd be surprised by how much you might know! There's even "bonus questions" where you can win free beer - my boyfriend won one round for knowing the lyrics to "Deep In The Heart Of Texas" (don't ask), and it was a highlight of the evening. Trivia is every Thursday night at 7:30 PM, and is free to play. It's honestly the best way to kick off your weekend, and I couldn't recommend it enough. If I could give negative stars I would. Just got done eating at craft 47. I had the absolute worst experience of my life. I rarely have a problem with restaurants As I'm really easy-going person. But today was unacceptable. I waited 30 minutes for service when their was hardly anyone in the restaurant. I ordered a burger MEDIUM RARE (an item in Which they are known for apparently). When I got my burger an hour later it was extremely overcooked and well done. It was not even close to medium rare. So I told the waitress and she took my plate with my truffle fries, which I was still eating back. an hour later goes by and the waitress returned with my burger and NO FRIES. I cut into my burger to find that it was STILL well done. Also During the course of this meal this man (who I later found out was the owner of the building) sprayed me and my girlfriend with a hose. I was a bit skeptical when I walked into this small shop, however I was pleasantly surprised by flavor with the food. The dishes are the appropriate sizes, but most Americans would say that the servings were small, since those are the "make it large" clientele. We started out with the Portabella mushroom and the flavors just danced on my tongue. A nice Cauliflower taco in with curry. Was also very pleasing to my taste buds, waking them in preparation for what followed. The main course didn't let me down at all. This quaint restaurant is a great reason to not judge a book by its cover. My son and I were close by for a sporting event and happened to find Craft 47 and decided to give it a chance. The food was good, and served in a more then reasonable time. The quality was noticeable in a positive way and portions were generous. The beer selection was fun and provided options for most beer lovers and there is a full bar to help other non-beer drinkers as well. The crafted cocktails sounded great, but were not in the cards for the evening. Staff was friendly and appropriately attentive. They knew their menu and lists and obviously took pride in providing good memorable service. While Goshen is a long way from my normal routes, if I am in the area again, I will happily visit C-47. read more

Sadly a friend of mine went there to break their sobriety. They called me to tell me and asked I go there to try to help. I understand the nature of a sober person being in a bar and the bartenders right to use their discretion. However, I was of sound mind and judgment. I politely asked the bartender to give us a second to talk as they were two years sober and about to break it due to overwhelming personal problems. The bartender would not acknowledge me at all. They continued to talk to the clearly distressed patron that was saying they wanted to "throw their sobriety away". The bartender poured them a drink and offered them more. Despite any sober and safely spoken plea, the bartender refused to address me. I know very well that my friend made the choice that they did but if you could see the place that they were in and hear the words they were speaking, you would possibly think twice about serving them. The bartender then asked my friend if they should call the cops on me when I stepped away to call a family member who may have been able to help in the situation. I came back to my friend telling me the staff wanted me thrown out. I never raised my voice. I was never aggressive with the staff. I was there comforting a friend in need who asked me to stop them before they started. At one point, I looked at the bartender and said - you have to be kidding me? I will never recommend them. In fact, I wish I could write an even more negative review based on the fact the bartender dismissed all the signs, statements and obvious warnings that the person in front of them was not in a good head space and continued to serve them because as they said to me - it was their discretion and my friend asked for the alcohol. read more

Been coming here in the summer after the bike ride on the Orange Bike trail. They never have the beer they advertise on Untappd app! Many beer selections also don't correspond with what's on the menu and servers aren't familiar with the in-house selections. Had food there for the first time today. The short rib tacos and Chipotle & Craft Beer-braised Short Rib were absolutely disgusting. Cold meat places on a warmed up tortilla and covered with cold lettuce. We stopped in here on a gloomy Sunday morning for lunch. There were a few people a the bar and at other tables, but for the most part it was pretty empty. Our server (who could have been the owner?) was friendly, but definitely left us waiting when it was time to pick up the check. The food here is pretty good, I didn't think the tapas were too small. One will fill you up, but you most likely won't have any left overs to take home. We ordered off their brunch menu and went with the Harlot. This was delicious! I loved the melted cheese over the potatoes and the poached egg went perfect with it. I also recommend adding avocado. I'll definitely be back soon to try their dinner menu! read more

Super cute restaurant. They had very unique light bulbs and an overall cool atmosphere. Their food is mostly tapas style. They don't post the prices of their drinks just a little expensive. Ask the prices before you order is my only suggestion. The food and service was great just a little pricey if you ask me. read more

Well. Our first trip to Goshen during the pandemic and we need a late lunch on the Sunday. Where to go and what to eat. At pandemic, we've been eating pizza all along. We need meat. Sat on the public benches outside placed an order and waited for... Best burger I've had in years. Once we're done with social distancing we'll be back but not sure if I wouldn't choose to sit outside on the bench again. I went to this establishment with my sister and our friend. We all ordered sodas which were all flat. We then asked for water that was just as bad as the flat sodas. However, we wanted to still give the food a chance. We all ordered 3 sliders and french fries. The fries were thin and greasy. Then, the sliders were all burnt to a crisp at the bottom and just tasted burnt. After deciding not to continue our meal I very politely asked the waitress to take the sliders off the bill and we would just pay for the fries. The waiter very condescendingly said okay and brought the bill without an apology or asking if we would like something else instead. I don't recommend their food or customer service!!! read more
