    Corn Flake-Crusted Crab Cake

I almost never leave a rating this low but this place was seriously bad. TL;DR: Skip and go to Oak and Reed instead. Made a reservation for dinner for my party of 4; this turned out to be unnecessary because it was almost empty though it was a Friday. I tried: + Grilled asparagus + Cornflake crusted crab cake + Meatballs with crostini + Wild caught sole The fish was over-lemony and salty, and the asparagus and meatballs were just meh. The crab cake was the only decent thing we ate.

Excellent service, intriguing atmosphere, menu, & craft beer list. My brie, apple, & bacon slider (yes, with a small hamburger patty too) & pork belly taco were very good. Glad I stopped in.

This was a great place for a quick lunch the tacos. I was in the mood for a burger and it tasted really nice. Sweet potatoes fries were nice and crispy. The place was empty when I went so the waitress was very friendly and made conversations.

I'm here for the brew! I see familiar NY brew on tap... You have a variety of diverse folks that come in to this place so that's the extra star Food is mediocre and service is a bit on the slow side (than what I'm used to) but this quaint spot is all right to hang during a quick visit in the town! The Buffalo fried calamari with blue cheese: ok, I see what you are working with but after the 4th bite, you realize it's too puckin' sour and salty but ok to order if you're sharing with lots of ppl to take only a few bites. Ordered the Shrimp pineapple habenero tacos.. I think the cook got the wrong message, what came out was shrimp with fresh mango chunks. Still good! Dessert: apple empanadas with vanilla ice cream was good! Skip the peanut butter brownie.. the brownie was not so good.

Definitely a decent place! Small and cozy, outdoor seating is nice but the chairs are NOT comfortable at all. Wings were delicious. Crispy and tender chicken. Deviled eggs were bland but good with some hot sauce. The pizza was big upon coming out but it was very soggy and sticking to the wooden plate. The beer list was the best part. I had a s'mores stout and it was deeeeelicious!!

We road tripped all the way out to Goshen tonight to visit Craft 47 for a fun dinner and evening of pub trivia! Yes, my boyfriend and I (like many trash millennials) have become obsessed with trivia nights in recent times, especially those sponsored by Geeks Who Drink, a company that specializes in engaging and difficult Q&A's at bars and restaurants across the US. Whenever we travel, we love to log onto the Geeks Who Drink website and see where the next quiz takes place.. which led us to Goshen, NY, and Craft 47, an affordable and tasty eatery we may have not found or tried otherwise! Downtown Goshen is so cute, and we're definitely coming back here when it's not freaking freezing out! There are plenty of quaint shops and restaurants that dot the main area, and Craft 47, which is nearly tucked in an alleyway, is no exception! The restaurant is small but mighty, and features a menu comprised of New American comfort food, small plates, and pizza - so basically, there's something for everyone. True to form with upstate NY bar n' grills, everything's pretty affordable, too. A definite plus for us! The dining room has a cozy and homey vibe, with old movie photographs on the wall, a projection screen with kitschy TV shows playing, a generous and well-appointed bar with plenty of seating, and a faux fireplace, which I made sure we sat right next to! I never wanted to leave! Lots of food options here, so bring your friends! They are an "American tapas" restaurant, which is code for "small plates of elevated comfort food", so order a couple of things to try! We got the Deviled Eggs (eh.. not my fave), and the Soft Pretzels, which were INCREDIBLE. I wish there were more than two sticks to an order! They were soft, chewy, perfectly salted, and served with an addictive beer cheese/mustardseed dip. We're getting two orders of those next time! We also tried the Guacamole, which was fresh and light, the Crab Cakes (again, not my fave, but my boyfriend really enjoyed them), and the Cajun Pasta (a huge portion that was hearty, filling, and great for sharing). There are SO many choices on the menu, so I look forward to returning and trying all new items next time. As for the trivia, you absolutely need to come here for that! The quizmaster is hilarious, and even though the questions can be tough, you'd be surprised by how much you might know! There's even "bonus questions" where you can win free beer - my boyfriend won one round for knowing the lyrics to "Deep In The Heart Of Texas" (don't ask), and it was a highlight of the evening. Trivia is every Thursday night at 7:30 PM, and is free to play. It's honestly the best way to kick off your weekend, and I couldn't recommend it enough. Our visit to Craft 47 for dinner & trivia was a highlight of my New York stay this month, and I love that we have a new favorite night out for future mini-vacations!

First time here and surprised with the size of the burgers. A nice 10oz patty with thick maple bacon. It was delicious. Wide selection of craft beers, staff was great and not overly attentive. Definitely will be back

Delicious food. Great ambiance. Wonderful hosts. Got here just in time as there was a line out the door a few mins after we were seated. Give this place tons o' business!

This was my burger they recooked and called medium rare

If I could give negative stars I would. Just got done eating at craft 47. I had the absolute worst experience of my life. I rarely have a problem with restaurants As I'm really easy-going person. But today was unacceptable. I waited 30 minutes for service when their was hardly anyone in the restaurant. I ordered a burger MEDIUM RARE (an item in Which they are known for apparently). When I got my burger an hour later it was extremely overcooked and well done. It was not even close to medium rare. So I told the waitress and she took my plate with my truffle fries, which I was still eating back. an hour later goes by and the waitress returned with my burger and NO FRIES. I cut into my burger to find that it was STILL well done. Also During the course of this meal this man (who I later found out was the owner of the building) sprayed me and my girlfriend with a hose. At first I figured it was an accident but a costumer at a near at a table mentioned that it appeared to be intentional which was also my gut feeling as he only sprayed us. No one apologized. Our waitress gave us a rag and left us to clean up our table. The manger then came over and said "oh that's the owner of the builder he's an f*ing a**hole. Then proceed to yell at the guy that sprayed us. The whole thing was handle incorrectly and made me and my girlfriend really uncomfortable. Given the POOR service and the fact my food wasn't even good. I WOULD NEVER COME HERE AGAIN.

The eggs were perfectly cooked soft and buttery. And the sour dough toast with that perfect sour dough tang was the perfect edition. Even the coffee in the French press takes the coffee to another level. But talking about Oak & Reed flair the signature waffle was possibly one of the best things I have eaten. The waffle with that pearl sugar is the way a waffle should be made but then they have that waffle filled with Dutch caramel and that mascarpone on top is perfect. The tang, sweetness, butteriness, the crisp yet fluffy waffle it all was an equation for an amazing breakfast item. I could eat that every time I go. Truly amazing. The staff in Oak & Reed is always amazing attentive and kind. Live the open kitchen concept. Especially with my two year old currently in a Ratatouille kick so she wanted to see the chefs while she looked for Remy cooking. All in all Oak & Reed never disappoints.

So I was excited when we finally got a chance to try it. And here is where it may have been my fault, maybe I hyped it up too much. So the funny thing when we arrived at the restaurant and I saw another friend. She told me it was her first time and it wasn't good (this was a warning!) she said especially the chicken and waffles. So again maybe it's my fault because I didn't listen. My heart was set on the chicken and waffles and she was right. It was not good. Like how do you mess up chicken and waffles? It was lacking all types of flavor. It was bad. Why 3 stars than? Because their Spicy Pork Congee was amazing! It's an Asian rice dish and everything that lacked flavor in the chicken and waffles was made up in this dish. The problem? This is only an appetizer. It needs to be an entree, which would mean making it a larger portion. It was fantastic! They also had a decent beer selection which we got. The inside of the restaurant is cute. It has so much potential I just think maybe a revamp of the recipes. But maybe another dish would be good. We came for brunch so I don't know how their dinner menu is. I will probably give them another chance because how amazing the congee was I know they have potential to be great.
