Our party of 8 went yesterday, arrived around 5:00 and were seated right away. Waiter was initially attentive taking drink orders and then food orders. Food came out in waves - probably took 5 minutes for everybody to get their food. After that the waiter disappeared, didn't come back to check on drinks or anything else. Had to wave down another waiter and he helped us. We literally waited 35 minutes for our check once we were all done. That didn't bother us because we were talking but it shouldn't take that long. Once we got the check we had to go up front to pay, the server never came to take the payment. Food was good. Space is not crowded but the decor is pretty feeble. I'd probably go back. read more

If you think paying $45 ("market price") for a (that's one, mind you) 1.5 Lbs crab, served on a table without plates and hardly any service sounds good, then this is a great place for you. On the other hand, if you can boil a crab and place it on a table, then you have this place beat and it will cost you a third of the "market price". The food is overpriced, and the preparation is not impressive. Seasoning is weak -- if you look at the other reviews where people actually review the food you'll see a common trend. It's pretty obvious that they have all their seasoning prepared in bulk, probably not even mixed at the restaurant, and they just dunk the crab into the bag with the sauce you ask for. It's hardly what I would call a restaurant, and certainly not worthy of the large prices charged for marginal food. Atmosphere is nice and casual. Too bad the food is one step above McDonalds. My family, three of us, we just tried this place a couple of weeks ago. It was OK; Not somewhere I will want to return to time and time again. The service was excellent; but, the food quality, average at best. The sauces too salty and oily. My son liked his fish and chips; but, i did not like my seafood pasta that came loaded with a ton of shelled clams, muscles, two shrimps, and one scallop. I hated to have to clean all the shells by hand, hot burning my fingers, and ate the pasta with the occasional shell crunch on my teeth; for about $28.00 I expect my seafood pasta to come ready to eat and to have more than one scallop and two shrimps. The food was delicious. We got the Alaskan King Crab legs (1.2 lbs.), 1 pound of shrimp, 4 pieces of corn and the cajun crab. We asked for the garlic butter sauce and it came out in a reddish sauce that was delicious but a little more flavorful than I wanted (I'm 3 months pregnant and more particular about food than I'd like to be). That being said, my husband and I devoured every morsel. It was phenomenal. I intend to make the rounds and try crab elsewhere, but will definitely be back. As far as service is concerned, our server was wonderful. He recommended the right amount of food. We didn't get a drink refill until we were done eating, but it was a very busy night. Stopped by for lunch with a good friend from Saudi Arabia who's a fairly picky guy, and we were both VERY happy with the meal. Service was awesome. I started with the house salad and he got the clam chowder. He said it wasn't the "best" clam chowder he'd ever had, but it wasn't bad either. My salad was a simple salad. Then 1 lb shrimp and 1lb snow crab showed up! We got the cracking crab mix (creole + garlic, etc.) and it was SO good. My friend walked in saying "so far, I haven't had anything that comes close to (a famous crab-like place)" and while we were eating said, "Wow, this is even better" than said place. Tip: 1lb is a good amount for 1 person. You will be full with that, plus 1 corn, and one order of potatoes. So glad we chose Cracking Crab for lunch. read more

been here a couple times recently. good seafood but be warned you will get messy. make sure to ask your server whats good today. mine let me know the snow crab was good that day. and he was correct. it was delicious. the steamed veggies are also good. try them for a nice balance to the heavy spices on the seafood. also ask for some extra lime and hit everything with it. and if you get one of the crabs ask for some scissors, that will help tremendously with getting all the meat out. read more

Okay, let me start by saying the service here is really great! But the food... seriously not okay. We got a pound of clams and snow crab legs. The seasoning is lacking a lot of salt and the texture is so sandy I legitimately thought there were rocks in my mouth. The clams were sooo tough that we had it sent back (which they were amazing about) but between the seasoning and the clams, we just couldn't do it. The snow crab legs were mostly empty of meat and snapped open without using the cracking tools. I'm seriously doubting their "market" price because they felt very cheap. read more

Closest and best tasting next to Boiling Crab without having to make the drive and wait for two hours. Service is always nice, staff friendly. Shrimp and crab legs are my go to which is served in a bag and you eat with your hands. If you've never been, be prepared to get messy. Omg first of all the customers service was terrible!! The girl who was helping us what so unprofessional. She brought me a super watered down coke!! As she's giving it to me I'm already thinking like that's not a coke, it looked like an ice tea or something light anyways I took it and I said I ordered a coke she assures me it's a coke. So I'm like ok maybe but I think it's missing syrup so then she makes me taste it and I'm like yup missing syrup!! So she then takes it back and says she'll fix it. Well half way through my meal she finally came back to tell me she couldn't fix it and offers me a beer instead since they're $3 as well. I'm like thinking wth nooooo! i want to wash my food down with a regular drink plus I hate beer ugh anyways I decided to stick to water but that water tasted probably worse than the watered down coke (straight faucet water!) Oh and they ran out of rise so they shorted us on rice as if to make enough to distribute the 5 we got. One of the cups of rise was half full. overall the shrimp was actually good and that's why I give it 2 stars otherwise I would have given it a complete negative-5 on customer service alone. Cracking Crab. Opening day 08/04/14. This is a Louisiana/Cajun style restaurant. The food here is magnificent to say the least. I'm personally tired of the sushi and pizza restaurants around this location. I needed something different. This hit the spot! I tried the Lobster and my girlfriend had the Alaskan King Crab. Both of us immersed ourselves in the flavors. What's nice is you can even choose 4 levels of spiciness starting from non-spicy and all the way to spicy. There are good appetizer selections. The food selections are anywhere from Alaskan King Crab to Crawfish, to Lobster. The atmosphere is great. It's large, very clean, very family oriented, has a bar in the corner near the entrance, and has very good customer service. There is even a hand wash station readily available for when you are done eating. I do highly recommend coming here and trying it out. I am definitely coming back! read more

never been to The Boiling Crab, and have always heard rave reviews about "that" place! our niece wanted to eat here, so we tagged along, and i must say, it wasn't bad at all...except for the wait...which you would expect from a place that is as busy as they were! i'm not a crab-eater, but my wife/her family is, so from what they said, the crab was quite tasty! the gumbo which i had was plentiful with just the right amount of spice/okra/filling...and the sweet potato fries, were good. the lobster popcorn was also good, as was the cajun fries! just as the other reviewers have said, prepare to be messy...this place does not give plates, but plastic bags/plastic bibs/and lots of napkins and wipes. read more

Also, while minor in comparison, the clam chowder was thin and watery and my wife ordered the king crab which was served in a plastic bag. I know it's an Asian owned restaurant, I have no problem with that at all. I grew up in the heart of Cajun Country and trust me, this place has ZERO on connection with Cajun/Louisiana cooking. First off the Cracking Crab sauce is super greasy, way too much garlic, & really no identifiable Cajun spices. Hot does not mean Cajun, sorry. The king crab legs were fresh, but again all the flavor was on the outside, no flavor in the meat at all. My son had the fried shrimp,which he said were good, but not at all like back home. Real Louisiana seafood is boiled in seasoned water, left to soak into the meat served hot at the table, not drenched in a greasy mess. Sorry, not trying to be harsh but if you're going to advertise it, get it right. You'd probably make more $$$$ by having an authentic product. Also, the decor...way off...way, way off. Just saying. A couple days ago I came in for the first time. I was dragged in by my best friend. She eats there often and is in love with the place and service. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and seated immediately. The vibes and food were amazing! But what impressed me the most was the exceptional service. Besides the fact that our server was good looking, he was incredibly attentive, helpful, and genuinely nice. Oh my gracious this was horrible! Waiter was nice but there is no way that you can call this a Cajun Restaurant! Boiled shrimp in a plastic bag with dried Cajun spices dumped in is nothing you would find in New Orleans! You have to ask for a plate... You have to beg for a knife and fork and there are never enough napkins in the bin. They put a large pile of limes in the middle of the waxed paper table covering which we finally ended up using them to cut the sticky slime that is left on your fingers as you desperately try to dismantle your food from the shells and heads. Stay away from the crawfish! There is about 1/2 cup of meat in a pound of whole body crawfish. I have seen larger tails on bay shrimp. This is not a place to go unless you like playing with your food. Never wear white clothes or anything dressy. I would like to say the Cajun fries were good but I can't... They were dry with the same Cajun rub that was dumped into the boil bags. No jambalaya... No Étouffée...no Dixie Beer....I won't be back! read more
