My boyfriend and I went to that Cracker Barrel on Saturday, August 23rd. So many errors that it was ridiculous. Our server seemed like she was not paying attention and just didn't seem like she could focus and the food was cold. It took 3 tries for my French toast to be warm and to not be hard as a rock. We had to return a baked potato to be warmed up too. Our server only had to wait on us and one other table that had two people and we were there for over an hour. They forgot to bring out the rolls and my dumplings, and the tartar sauce for the fish so we had to ask for those. The rolls we had to ask for 3 times. We won't be back. Let me start by saying that their people are very friendly and I am sure doing the best they can. That said, this location consistently provides very slow service and mediocre quality food. I'm leaving this review as the result of multiple unfortunate meals. Frequently you are seated and then will wait 10 to 20 minutes before a server will come to collect your drink order and then another 10 to 20 minutes to get yourdrink order back to you, then another 20 to 30 minutes for your food. I have found this to be the case, regardless of staffing, the server could have four tables or seven tables; there is no sense of urgency. I have also experienced this on the pick up. They are consistently 10 to 20 minutes past the agreed time for your pick up. The food quality is mediocre I do not recommend your order of steak there at all. I recommend that if you are going there plan for at least an hour from the time that you are seated to be served. Maybe buy a drink in the country store to hold you over until they get to you. read more

Breakfast was absolutely NOT good. Coffee was cold, our breakfast order came out in multiple trips because it just wasn't right. The bacon that came with our order was so crispy and dry they should have kept it and used for bacon bits in their salads. Over priced and will not be back read more

We dined on 11/19/2025 and had a great experience. Our server, Gabi, was super sweet and attentive and all of our food came to the table at the same time. The food was much improved as we were told by management that the old menu recipes are coming back into play now due to previous complaints. We left full and happy. Stopped at the CB as we drove through town on our trip north. I have not been there in many years, my buddy had never gone. Inside was the usual atmosphere of CB trying to sell you something in their shop. We had no interest. We were seated immediately for our lunch. One hamburger and Fries, one meatloaf, mash potatoes. Food came out. Not so good. The meatloaf could not have been more than 1/4 inch thick. The gravy on the mashed potatoes was congealed. Neither was very warm, the potatoes were chunky. Just like a thousand other Cracker Barrel's but the difference is always the staff. We had a server named Joy who was amazing. Super sweet and friendly, she couldn't have been nicer. In this area not all Cracker Barrels are the same. The place appeared to be under renovation because there were no pictures or decorations on the walls. If you're going to Cracker Barrel for the art you should not be allowed out of the house. We usually try their BLTs for lunch but this location doesn't have plain BLTs. However, they did have a grilled or fried chicken BLTs. Very tasty but I still prefer the regular BLTs. If for no other reason stop by this location and say hello to Joy. read more

Typical Cracker Barrel.... I think once you have been to one you have been to them all. Not sure if they were short staffed or what, but there were more empty/dirty tables then there were tables being occupied. I quickly noticed the waiters and waitresses have to bus the tables. We were seated quickly for a Sunday evening but half our orders were delayed by about 30 minutes. So half the group ate while the other half watched. Then their food came out and it was now our turn to watch them eat. That never makes an enjoyable meal........ I'm guessing they were short staffed in the kitchen as well. I don't know?????? Not eating at the same time which also meant we were in there twice as long with loads of dirty (needing bused) tables all around us, kinda made us wish we went elae where to eat. Then to top it off the men's bathroom was a complete wreck. But, I guess if your short staffed there is no time to restock and tidy up the restrooms. read more

We drove up to Indianapolis to Children's Museum for the day. Driving back to Louisville, I-65 South, we were HUNGRY and we decided Cracker Barrel was coming up in Seymour, IN. While waited to be seated, I saw their Thursday Special Turkey Dinner(See Picture) and it looked Delicious. I told my waitress that I wanted THAT meal just as shown at dining room entry. My wife Ordered Roast Beef, with au jus, one child Fried Shrip and other 2 pancakes. After a wait of 15-20 min, our waitress came out and informed my wife the kitchen was out of Roast-beef. So then had to reorder and my wife selected Country fried Steak. Eventually, our meals were brought but I was informed that the sweet potato casserole(I guessed that's what it was called) they were out so they brought me a baked Sweet Potato( ended bring under baked and hard). Candidly, I was DISAPPOINTED when I saw my Turkey Dinner(Look at actual photo). I then noticed a layer of liked hardened gravy that I was actually able to pull an entire layer off. The Turkey was fatty, and the meal was just Huge let down. My wife's CFS was good (she shared portion of her chicken Fried steak with me) was good EXCEPT the "Gravy" was like no gravy I've every seen nor Representative of even their "Commercials" on TV. The mashed potatoes had similar "gravy" and stuffing was same as mine, bland. My wife was totally also disappointed with her "stuffing" and the "Gravy" on her mashed potatoes and Chicken Fried Steak was a "thick" layer. The pancakes for my son were large/generous portion and my other son's fried shrimp meal was well received. Our waitress was attentive but Major disconnect between Kitchen and severs and what meals were available and definitely presentation. LOOK at the pictures and YOU be the judge! Next time, it's just easier and probably better to go through a "fast food" drive thru. NOT worth the family aggravation and waste of money. read more

Horrible service. Our waitress never refilled our drinks, I had ordered an appetizer and salad to be out before our meal and received them after our meals. Our meals weren't correct as we had ordered. Our steaks weren't cooked correctly, this occurs often here, seems as if the cook doesn't know how to cook steak. While we we're waiting to ask for refills and our food to go, our waitress never came by our table to check up on us. After receiving our meals, we had no silverware until after 15 minutes, when we had asked for silverware our food was cold by then. Seems to be a lack of teamwork at this establishment. Terrible. We arrived 2 hours before closing. Three of us. Restaurant was maybe 1/4 full. 2 of us got a breakfast meal while the other had a dinner meal. Took forever to get the food and when it finally arrived EVERYTHING was either lukewarm or downright cold. The dinner entree was ok. The best thing was the Mac and cheese. Tasted good but it was cold. The eggs in both breakfast meals were cold and not cooked as ordered. One person had biscuits and gravy with their meal. The gravy was cold and the biscuits were raw in the middle. Literally raw dough. The sausage patties served with the other breakfast were akin to thin hockey pucks...as if they'd been sitting under a heat lamp half the day. The service was awful. Our waitress never checked on us, never asked us if we needed refills and we had to ask a bus boy for ketchup. We had to flag down a different waitress to find our waitress to get our check. The food was served luke warm, and that was after waiting way too long for it. I also noticed they don't follow Covid protocol. Not only were customers walking around without masks (despite the sign at the door), but wait staff had their mask hanging from one ear, or below the nose. It's really pretty simple. The food was standard Cracker Barrel food but the service left a lot to be desired. The server came over immediately after she saw the hostess seat us and asked if I was ready to order. She rolled her eyes when I said I just got seated and asked for a drink first. Once she brought my drink, it was over 10 mins before she came back to take my order. I ordered and she walked away. By this point, my drink was nearly empty. She came back about 10 mins later and asked if I wanted one item over another and when I shared what I ordered and asked wasn't that the cheaper of the two, she shrugged her shoulders and walked off saying something under her breath. Later, now 30 mins after I was initially seated, she brought my food, the rolls and walked away. The manager then walked around and asked everyone how their food was tasting. Of course I had just taken a bite of food so I couldn't speak. He smiled and walked away. I finished my meal and was patiently awaiting to see my server to see if at any point, I could possibly get a refill. I finally saw her and at this point she said "you done yet" I was a bit frustrated. While I understand that there are a lot of young folks that work after school, I honestly was hopeful that I would experience a little "Hoosier Hospitality" especially in such a small town. Unfortunately that was not the case at all with this server. I asked for a coffee to go and the girl brought it but zipped off before I could say anything else. I awaited to pay in line listening to a staff person behind me discuss how sick she has been. Not really a discussion to have with customers standing in line in my opinion. The cashier barely focused on me but instead carried on a conversation with the staff who apparently just got out of the hospital and had to go to two separate hospitals and just started driving again yesterday after being extremely ill for three weeks. All in all, I would say, the customer service at this location is poor. The only reason for even 1 star is when we finally got our food it was good. We were seated within 10 minutes, no problem there. The problem came after being seated! Apparently they were having problems in the kitchen- we waited an hour for our food! We seriously considered leaving but we already had such a time investment and it is not there is a range of dining choices in the area. The whole time we are there they keep on seating more people that are totally unaware of they are in store for. Our waitress wasn't even aware that she was suppose to be serving our table. It took a very long time to even get a beverage. It also took a very long time to get our food and I finally had to complain. The restaurant was not that crowded but understaffed. My son and I both ordered the country ham. It was extremely over cooked and tough. The vegetables were room temperature and obviously had been sitting out for a while. The floor beside our table was wet and sticky. We were just passing through the area and still had several hours of driving but wanted something other than fast food. What a waste of driving time!
