My husband & I go to The Rails about once a week. I always get a grilled chicken with bbq on the side and baked potato and veggie. The grilled chicken is always tender. Everything is wonderful. My husband loves the smothered chicken breast. Oh, bring a sweater, it is always chilly. I think there is 8 or 9 TV's on the walls. We love going there. The service has always been pretty good. We were headed through town and starving so we decided to give this place a try. The tea and food were really good. We sat on the patio which was really nice and we had the perfect weather to do so. My only complaint is my wrap was tiny. I was still going to be hungry so my fiancé switched me half my wrap for half of his chicken sandwich which was wonderful too. The chicken was cooked perfect. I asked the waiter and she confirmed the lunch portion wrap was slightly smaller than the normal portion, but "not by much." My plate was even small for size reference. Later on, we stoped at a friend's birthday party, we told them about our experience and they reported they used to go to Rails all the time but it just wasn't the same anymore. They included details of how wonderful the crab cakes used to be and now they are no longer on the menu. Over all, I'd definitely go back and order more next time. The food itself was great. Maybe this input can help management improve. We know the economy is rough on most businesses. read more

I gave a review on this restaurant a few weeks ago. On Wednesday, 16 Sep '26, we took some friends here to eat and I decided to give an updated review. I made sure to ask for a manager upon being seated to avoid the prior manager who refused to compensate or give a discount due to a stale croissant sandwich. The food servers have always been polite. The food was excellent and the manager 'Cloe' was outstanding. She stated she was part-time however; her conduct and attention to our table was outstanding. Cloe said she wanted to make sure I would not have a bad experience as we did on our prior visit. This time my husband and our guests had the 50/50 burger with fries and said they were both excellent. I had the cod sandwich with those excellent fries and my meal was also excellent. My husband and I always drink the unsweet tea and bring our own Stevia to sweeten and our friends had the 50/50 tea and said it was great. This visit was such a pleasant experience and made up for the prior 'want to be' manager who refused to compensate or give me a discount for a bad entre. I mentioned to Cloe that I am a review person and want people to know the importance of asking for a manager and sharing their good and bad experiences and try to make things better for future customers. I would highly recommend this restaurant and the manager 'Cloe' for the facts I have stated here :)). read more

Really enjoyed the older couple that sat next to me that were locals and regulars. They said they eat here four times per week. What does that tell you. Heading South to Louisville, and we made a stop in Seymour, IN. After a quick Yelp search, we found Rails Craft Brew and Eatery. Now I have to admit, we were convinced after seeing "craft brews" and chicken tenders, but we should have explored the beer menu because we just assumed they were a local brewery. They are not. We enjoyed a couple of cold brews; the Ruby Bloom from Bloomington Brewing Company was pretty damn good. They have $10 lunch specials that include the chicken tenders. I had a side of fries and the hot honey dipping sauce. My wife enjoyed the chicken bacon ranch wrap with sweet potato waffle fries. The coolest thing was the location and decorations. Right beside an active set of tracks, and decorated with numerous traffic and brewery signs, very cool. So it was a very cool place to stop for lunch. The tenders were good, the beer was cold, and walking across the tracks to get here seemed very unique. I would recommend. read more

This is an excellent spot for lunch with a friend! Parking can be a little dicey if you go during peak hours, but it's really neat inside, with exposed brick giving you an elevated depot feel. We love stopping by Rails and supporting a local business. My daughter's favorite is the chicken tenders and I often get them, as well! We have our favorite servers, who are always attentive. Stopped by on my way back north based on the craft brew advertisement and my appreciation for local restaurants. The building is a cool brownstone with a hip vibe when you enter. I stopped in on a Saturday early afternoon. Once seated, I looked over the beer list and menu. Draft brews that were offered included Bud Light and Michelob Ultra which was a downer considering they aren't craft brews at all. Ordered a southwest salad which was good. Not great but good. Adding avocado would make it match the price they charge of $13. read more
