I got the loaded sidewinders minus the jalapeño and salsa. The sidewinders held up up well to the toppings without getting too mushy. The pulled pork on them was tasty but I had to ask for some sauce. There wasn't much cheese on them and I had a cup of sour cream for dipping. They have $2 coke products which I was pleased with. I came on a Saturday night and the karaoke was in full swing.

We made the one hour trip to Miller's for lunch (we're retired). Friends we often go out with had…read moreread about Miller's and wanted to give them a try. Featured in the article was Miller's tenderloins. I say tenderloins plural, because they have 2 sizes. What they call a regular and a large tenderloin. Our friend ordered the large tenderloin $14.99. It comes a la carte BUT, the Tenderloin was huge. Now I bet some of you are thinking it couldn't be that big! Well I ordered the regular Tenderloin ($10.99) and it was enough for two people. The large was easily 3 times, if not more, than the size of mine. Our friend guessed the weight of the large one at 3 pounds or more. Additinally, the tenderloins are not paper thin. They are quite thick and meaty. Both wives got the whitefish sandwiches. We all had one common complaint. The batter on both the Tenderloin and fish were tasty, but too salty for our liking. I should mention we ordered fried green tomatoes and fried mushrooms for appetizers. We all really enjoyed both. Eventhough this establishment is a Tavern, they only have like four draft beer taps. However, they offer a nice list of bottles and cans, with some craft beers. They have an open flame grill for burgers and steaks which makes for a pretty good aroma inside if your a carnivore. Next trip I'm getting a Burger! Service was friendly and accommodating.

Got surprised with a reservation this weekend w/ the family. It's a crazy dichotomy between "drunk…read morecollege bar" and Speakeasy. I was concerned the noise would be a problem, it was not. The atmosphere was great. I used it as an opportunity to try some Jamaican Rum drinks. If forget the name of the first one, it was on menu (something with a "Star" in the name). It was good, but I wasn't sure if I got a good feel for the rum. Second drink was a plain Jamaican Rum Daquiri. It really showcased the rum and in hindsight, so did the first cocktail. It was good for my first experience and you could really taste the JR "funk". We'll be back, the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Reservations have to be required, but it's a must do in Bloomington.

Food comes out super quick. The fish taco and crawfish taco were excellent with a spicy kick from either the aioli or pickled onions. The cod tasted fresh and I liked the breading. I'd order these again, hands down. My husband had his hand breaded tenderloin with fries. He loved the brioche roll and the generous pork patty was tender. He would have liked a bit of seasoning in the breading. The fries are perfectly crispy and delicious. We found free street parking nearby.

The service was alright (not bad, but nothing special this go), the food was good except the wings that were very rubbery, and they have a great tap and bottled beer selection. It was Taco Tuesday ($2.50 tacos), so I think every local schooner in Madison was there for dinner. Apparently a bunch of restaurants in town are closed on Tuesdays, but OBT is not one of them. Overall, good but not great... Cool place though, so I'll come back again when in town.
