Food and service is great! They have the best seasoned ground beef burritos and we like the salsa.

I gave a review on this restaurant a few weeks ago. On Wednesday, 16 Sep '26, we took some friends…read morehere to eat and I decided to give an updated review. I made sure to ask for a manager upon being seated to avoid the prior manager who refused to compensate or give a discount due to a stale croissant sandwich. The food servers have always been polite. The food was excellent and the manager 'Cloe' was outstanding. She stated she was part-time however; her conduct and attention to our table was outstanding. Cloe said she wanted to make sure I would not have a bad experience as we did on our prior visit. This time my husband and our guests had the 50/50 burger with fries and said they were both excellent. I had the cod sandwich with those excellent fries and my meal was also excellent. My husband and I always drink the unsweet tea and bring our own Stevia to sweeten and our friends had the 50/50 tea and said it was great. This visit was such a pleasant experience and made up for the prior 'want to be' manager who refused to compensate or give me a discount for a bad entre. I mentioned to Cloe that I am a review person and want people to know the importance of asking for a manager and sharing their good and bad experiences and try to make things better for future customers. I would highly recommend this restaurant and the manager 'Cloe' for the facts I have stated here :)).

The wealth of knowledge with both Austin, our Bartender and Dave, Owner, is amazing. Thanks to them, we walked out of there quite happy with our tastings. With the huge selection of Bourbon, right in front of us, we were able to ask questions about any bottle we spotted on the shelf. We gained a lot more information about Bourbon. THANK YOU Austin & Dave !!! Yes, we will stop here EVERY TIME we travel to Frankfort, KY. Hoping it won't be another 2 yrs.

From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming. The staff provided great whiskey conversation and shared so much interesting history about the community and the distillery. It really made the tasting feel personal and special. We had the opportunity to sample an incredible lineup: * Weller 12 * Rip Van Winkle 10yr * Castle & Key Rye * Peerless Double Oak * Benson Valley Bourbon Every pour was smooth, flavorful, and clearly high quality. The pours were generous and the explanations for each one added so much depth. If you're into whiskey (or just good conversation and local history), HOC is a must-stop. We left smiling and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend! Thanks again to the team at HOC -- you turned a closed door into one of the highlights of our road trip!

We love that they walk you through all the ingredients and even give you recipe cards so you can try to make it at home. Somehow it's never quite the same when we make it ourselves, which is exactly why we keep coming back to enjoy it firsthand. We've also done the tour multiple times, and it's always a great experience--very informative and well done. The tastings along the way are a lot of fun and just add to the overall experience. Great drinks, great staff, and always worth the stop.

When people think of whiskey in Indiana's Brown County, they might think of that other place. (You…read moreknow the one.) But there is another distillery quietly making small-batch, high-quality spirits in Nashville, and that's Bear Wallow Distillery. Located just outside of downtown Nashville, Bear Wallow Distillery is one of the only female-owned distilleries in the country. They create their spirits in a traditional copper pot still, which I learned is unique. Inside the tasting room, you can enjoy a whiskey tasting or a flight, or sip a craft cocktail and relax in the shop. I chose to enjoy a "Call Me Old Fashioned" standing up at the bar, while chatting with the guy who made me my drink. My Old Fashioned was well balanced, not too sweet and made me feel all warm inside, as a good Old Fashioned should. Those who are interested in learning more about the whiskey-making craft can go on a Farm-to-Fifth Tour, which takes you behind the scenes to learn about the history of whiskey and see the full production process. I did, and I found it very informative! I had a new appreciation for the kind of whiskey and spirits they are making here at Bear Wallow Distillery. From the ingredients they choose to the barrels they use, they really put their foot in it, as they say. If you like whiskey, or just like to try local spirits, this is a good place to visit in Nashville.
